Summary
On the first day of summer, Merlin writes about Arthur’s death.
The sun is shining and the flowers have just begun to bloom. Golden grass waves around him, tall enough to cover his head if he were to lay flat, but not quite tall enough to as he lounges back against a tree at the top of a hill overlooking the kingdom. The breeze is soft and warm. His hands have ink smeared along the sides of them. It sticks in the crevices of his skin no matter how much he scrubs them, and he’s beginning to think it’s permanent.
