As always, the doll was elegant in the way she flowed, fingers curling softly around the taut tablecloth, her dress swaying delicately as though a gentle wind befell her every move. Pomni found that she’d almost be jealous, if she weren’t so thoroughly entranced. While time certainly was stagnant, it seemed Ragatha changed with every given moment. At no point was she the same person: the stitches on her skin were different after every adventure, adjusted to fill whatever injury she had suffered. Her dress, too, was altered over periods of time. Sometimes the hem went to her ankles, and other days she sewed it to lay across her knees. She had fully adapted to her environment. Resilient, brave, beautiful. Pomni felt a flutter in her chest. She wanted that confidence, too.

"Hey there! Would you be up for a trade?"
Hearing that, the girl looked up curiously from behind the booth, a forkful of food right by her mouth.
Shoot, she came at a bad time.
"O-oh, sorry! It's perfectly fine if you don't want to though! I'm fine with just paying too!" She nervously fiddled with her hands, her voice jumping just an octave too high.
But the girl just placed the lunch box away without a second thought, and smiled sincerely. "Nah, it's fine. And I’m always happy to trade!"
Stealing a glance at her badge, Ragatha made a note of her name, or at least the one she used to represent herself with.

Summary
Christine remembers the circus the way you remember something that happened to someone else, distant and vivid all at once, like a photograph of a life she's not entirely sure was hers. She remembers a girl with red hair and steady hands who was kind to her in a place that had no business containing kindness. She thinks about her sometimes. Wonders where she ended up. Whether she ever thinks about her too.
She doesn't connect it. Not to the woman at the bar with the guarded smile and the one dark eye and the infuriating ability to make Christine feel like the most wanted and most disposable person in the room simultaneously.
Christine can’t help but love both of them.

Pomni knows that Ragatha’s hiding something from her.
Whenever the ragdoll glances at her mid-talking, she fumbles with her words, looks amused before stopping altogether to hold herself back from laughing. Pomni, being the little stress ball that she is, cannot for the life of her figure out what Ragatha is so amused about.
