    Stiles is pretty sure that soulmates aren't a real thing. Sue him, he's a romantic. Which means that he doesn't believe that love is predetermined by the stars, or the fates, or any bullshit like that. There's no way a magic spell exists that can order up love like it's a large pepperoni with extra mushrooms. Stiles thinks - no, he knows - that love is decision you make. One that you keep making, every day.

    And even if soulmates were a real thing, he definitely wouldn't be Derek Hale's.

    But on the off chance Derek does have a soulmate - someone out there who could finally make him happy in the way he deserves to be happy - Stiles might as well try the stupid spell. He's going to find whoever that is if it kills him.

    "I'm a werewolf," Derek says, before he can think about it. For the first time in his life the word feels dirty, like something to be ashamed of. It makes him feel like a little kid again, using a curse word without understanding what it means.
