Summary
Alhaitham was a patient man. It came with the job as the Akademiya's scribe. That being said, Kaveh was starting to wear that patience thinner and thinner with the gratuitous use of his personal funds. Especially when Kaveh starts using alcohol as more crutch than vice.
When a particularly wealthy client hooks the Kshahrewar's greatest architect into a new project doomed to fail, Kaveh's good heart inevitably falls victim. And into the bottle.
Alhaitham is forced to find his senior deep within a depressed bender and uses a rather unconventional way to persuade Kaveh to stop drinking on his tab going forward.

Summary
Debates become arguments. Arguments become fights. Fights become something more when Kaveh goes overboard in his vices the longer he lives with Alhaitham. Soon, the Scribe's peace becomes far too interrupted for him to ignore the problem, making it his own to solve despite Kaveh's deliberate resistance.
Of course, far be it for him to realize he may have been the problem all along. And luckily, or perhaps unluckily, the rejection Kaveh expects only spites Alhaitham to prove him wrong further.
