One week after arriving in Stars Hollow with her baby girl Rory, Lorelai makes her first and only trip into William’s Hardware store. There she is assisted by a gruff, but kind and witty young man and their connection is immediate and undeniable. However, their chance encounter is brief and fleeting and it fades from both their memories in time. Until that is, fate brings them back together years later and the memory resurfaces as the two sit in that man’s diner, reminiscing about the past.
