Summary
An old FIA rule says that unmated omegas aren't allowed to race in any category of motorsport.
Because of that, Charles Leclerc has been hiding as a beta since he first presented as an omega-until a breakthrough heat destroys how hard he's worked and reveals his designation.
Ferrari, facing a major loss in sponsorship money, offer him a choice: leave Ferrari and motorsport forever, or agree to an invite only auction for the rights to mate him, with proceeds filling the hole in the budget.
Charles comes up with a plan to save himself, get an alpha he trusts, get Ferrari's money back, and keep his seat.
Unfortunately, Max Verstappen comes up with a plan, too.

Summary
Six months later, Pablo debuted for the first team. That stretch of his life from fourteen to sixteen was reduced to a compressed, locked-away nightmare that he pretended never to have gone through in the face of his dreams coming true before him. It worked brilliantly. He kept rising and rising, solidifying his importance to the team, to Xavi fucking Hernandez. God himself couldn’t take that away from him, because as far as he was concerned, nothing had happened those nights at La Masia in the first place.
