Jaheira let out an amused breath. Sewer journals. It would appear the Underduke kept detailed diaries. Coded details of all past, present, and possibly future Guild business? A clear advantage; knowledge she absolutely must learn. She picked an older red one and opened it to a random page. She had long ago learned the code in which Nine-Fingers wrote her Guild communications, but the code in these pages seemed slightly different. Certain symbols and letters replaced ones that Jaheira knew well. But she was a quick study, always had been.

Striding into her guildhall, casual as can be and notably not dead, as if she hadn't left to go pick a fight with a god without so much as a goodbye. Showing up entirely uninvited when she should have been out playing the hero of Baldur's Gate, grabbing her by the shirt, and kissing her breathless as though nothing had happened at all.
Gods, that woman was a lot of things, but she'd never been boring.

Luckily, Tav's wisdom was high enough to catch this possessive insight, but before excusing themselves, Isobel Thorm quickly chastised, “Aylin!” She gave her Aasimar mate a desperate look. She would be lying to say that Aylin’s Alpha pheromones were not affecting her if the throbbing within the depths of her core said otherwise. However, she had enough decency to not be so blunt in front of their savior of the century, the individual who saved both of their lives. If Tav didn’t or made decisions that resulted in them not being reunited…the possibility made Isobel shudder. “We will see you later.”

Yet in this moment, she could not help but praise the sun, both for scorching the land strongly enough that beads of sweat rolled off of Aylin's brow and bare arms most enticingly, and for granting Isobel a very good excuse as to why exactly her face was so red and her breath so short. Not only that, but she was currently finding it quite difficult, perhaps even blasphemous, to direct her prayers towards the very mother of the one causing her to lose her composure.
