Summary
There are a lot of different things that hope can feel like when you hold onto it for a long time. A soft, warm, comforting weight. A burning ember that you can’t bring yourself to let go of. Something worn and fragile that could fall apart in your hands if you don’t tend to it carefully.
You go to a sanctuary for living dolls and take in a broken porcelain jester. Successful adoptions are almost unheard of, but you’re determined to be one of those few miracle cases. The most important part is to love him, and you can do that easily. Coaxing him into moving on from the life he had before the fire is going to be harder.

Summary
This will not have a regular posting schedule. I have like … so many other fics that I am also working on and this one tickles my fancy at the moment but I guarantee no regular post dates of any kind.
I love As Long As We Are Loved by ShiraCheshire and had the thought… well… if living dolls are kindof on-par with pets in-world… i totally respect the Plot Narrative Choice to have Sun/Moon not be picked up in Ch.3… but how many people see a dirty dog running around and go catch it just because they are good ppls? I wanted to run with that idea and wonder what might have been different for Sun/Moon if they HAD been picked up then.
AKA… this is an AU fic of As Long As We Are Loved so if you haven’t read that yet then pls go read it first and leave the OG author a Kudos and a Comment!!! Then come back and enjoy my silly little take on their genius worldbuilding idea. I take no credit for the incredible ‘magic system’ they have, that is 100% their work.
