When Robin and Steve moved to New York together so she could go to school, her parents initially pitched a fit about it. Moving 12 hours away, to the biggest city in the world, with a man she didn’t have any plans to marry? Yeah, that certainly led to a few raised voices in the Buckley household.
But, once they got over the initial shock, her parents agreed to support her. With a few conditions of course.
One: Don’t get pregnant. Robin was pretty sure she would be able to avoid that one
Two: No going out at night without Steve. That was fine, she didn’t really like to go anywhere without Steve anyway, that was the whole point of him leaving Hawkins with her.
Three: Her mother was going to call their apartment every Thursday at 7:30 pm, and Robin better answer the phone every single time.
That was the most annoying one.

Aber jeder Mensch würde ihr zustimmen, dass Charlotte sich komisch benimmt - Warum hat sie so kurz vor den A Levels noch den Kurs gewechselt? Warum setzt sie sich plötzlich in der Cafeteria zu Raphael an den Tisch und ist nett zu Gwen? Und vor allem, warum kriegt Leslie immer dieses komische Gefühl im Magen, wenn Charlotte ihr in die Augen sieht?
Das Letzte, was Charlotte noch gebrauchen kann, ist unnötiges Drama, jetzt, wo die Loge endgültig beschlossen hat, dass für sie kein Platz mehr ist. Aber wer hätte denn ahnen können, dass ein einfacher Kurswechsel solche Konsequenzen haben könnte? Außerdem benimmt sich Gideon in letzter Zeit wie ein noch größeres Arschloch als sonst, und wenn sie noch EIN Mal Nachts um drei "The Winner Takes It All" aus Gwens Zimmer hören muss wird das gravierende Konsequenzen haben. Und zu allem Überfluss ist da noch das Bioreferat mit Leslie - als ob das Leben als einsame, ungeküsste, ungeoutete Lesbe nicht schon schwer genug wäre!

i cried. i cried so much. the song for this: welly boots by the amazing devil. (especially that last chapter. because. oof. i still cry sometimes. it's brutal.)
it's so so so good, in the most heart-aching, gut-wrenching, bawling-my-eyes-out-and-curling-up-into-a-tiny-little-ball way.
this has changed me. it's a part of me now. i'll just be lying in bed, and then suddenly i think about this again. i'll be listening to the amazing devil, one of my favorite bands, and the horror and the wild (great album, definitely recommend) will come on and i'll just prep myself to cry because the song welly boots, without a fail, always makes me think of this. always. (it always made me emotional, even before i read this, but now i'll actually well up with tears. like. i am so not emotionally stable)
