Summary
Neil's body was damaged. His past left deep, deep scars on his entire being. Now Neil had to deal with the aftermath in the form of chronic pain. He thought he was doing just fine, but, apparently, he was taking "too many painkillers" and had to learn to "work with his body." After being forced to get a cane by everyone in his life, Neil must grapple with the next stage of his life; learning to live as a cane using omega.
But how can he? After all, Neil wasn't allowed to be in pain.

Deku kept his unreachable dreams, kept the idea that he’d be a hero some day. Kept his notebooks, and his dumb All Might pencil case. Kept his hair the same and kept his stupid freckles and kept getting on Katsuki’s nerves no matter what Katsuki did to try and stop it.
And, every year on April Twentieth, Deku kept on bringing Katsuki gifts.
Gifts, wrapped crudely (though that slowly changed until they suddenly looked almost identical to Auntie Inko’s presents) with notes that would say ‘Happy birthday, Kacchan!’ in Deku’s ugly chicken scratch.”

Summary
The boy straightens up. He’s about half a head shorter than Katsuki, face soft and youthful and sweet. He turns to look at him properly. His dark hair shines in the dying light, basket of blooms looped over one arm and mouth quirked into a tiny half-smile. The sun hits his face and makes his eyes a bright greeny-gold, just like emeralds.
Katsuki likes emeralds.
“Pretty,” he says, reaching out and picking the stranger up around the middle. He’s surprisingly heavy, although Katsuki doesn’t mind. “I like you. Come see my nest.”
The boy hits him.
He’s stronger than he looks, turns out. Katsuki drops him and falls onto his back, pain blooming across his face. Birds sing. The sky’s a lovely shade of orange, clouds floating lazily by. The boy scarpers. He leaves his basket of flowers behind, footsteps thumping on the ground and fading away as he escapes.
The sun sets. Katsuki, lying flat on his back with a bloody nose, decides he’s just fallen in love.

Summary
(or: how to trick a boy into going out with you.)
Alright. Maybe his idiot friends had a point, Katsuki thinks as he shoulders open the front door. His mother’s in the living room drinking coffee. Katsuki kicks off his shoes and stomps over. “Am I charming?” he demands, blocking the TV.
Mitsuki pats his cheek. “Oh, hon. Not at all.”
He goes upstairs. The bed makes a pomf noise as he faceplants into it. He needs a date for the sake of his pride, but there has to be a guarantee he won’t get rejected. Gossip travels and he’s not inconspicuous. He can already see the future headlines. Exposé : Bakusatsuo, failure at prom.
He sighs and rolls over. “Fine,” he says to the All Might poster next to his bed. “I’m not showing up to that dance alone. We’ll go with plan B.”
