Summary
Kurogane was never meant to be the caretaker of a shrine, but with his mother's death, he did not trust anyone else to maintain the legacy she had built. Feeling inadequate and drowning in grief, Kurogane closed the shrine doors and isolated himself from the world.
A foreigner ignores the signs and enters the shrine to say a prayer, and intrudes on Kurogane's carefully crafted solitude in the process.

Summary
Kurogane has spent his lifetime honing himself into the perfect, merciless warrior. He’s won countless battles, can best any enemy he encounters, and he’s always looking for his next opponent to challenge. But when he accidentally angers a god by killing off a favored pet, he’s taken to the heavens and cursed to assume the beast’s form.
Thrown into Ashura’s arena, Kurogane is forced to fight in an effort to learn the true meaning of strength—or die trying. Never one to run from a challenge, Kurogane is determined to prove himself as a warrior, either by winning in the arena, or killing the god himself and escaping.
It’s really too bad that Ashura’s demi-god son seems to have taken an interest in him.
