Normal people didn't count every breath, distracting themselves from tasting the air.
But Sion did.
He did it so well that no one ever noticed. He worked at Midnight Brew Cafe for almost three years, and to others, he was just another night-shift employee.
Often, he wondered if that was what he really wanted: to disappear into a routine and dissolve into the warmth he could never feel. But this way was safer. He almost could forget what he was.
