    Todoroki Touya was not dreaming of a white Christmas. Not like the ones he used to know, or like any other white Christmas.

    He was dreaming of a warm sunny beach, of Mai Thais, and men playing volleyball in the surf in scandalously tiny shorts. He was dreaming that his family was hundreds of miles away, preferably without a means to contact him.

    It was unfortunate, then, that Christmas for the Todorokis would be spent on a luxury cruise liner, travelling along the Norwegian coast.

    Dreams of beaches and Mai Thais might be off the table. The weather might be cold, and there might be the definite promise of a white Christmas, but Touya might not mind mistletoe kisses and sleigh rides this year.

    It was a wonderful time of year, after all.

    Three years ago Cremation Hero: Execute was relocated from Tokyo to Fukuoka to cover the retirement of Rabbit Hero: Miruko.

    In theory, Todoroki Touya was fine with this relocation.

    Except Fukuoka has a vigilante problem in the form of a winged man who calls himself Velociraptor, and now his youngest brother is in his second year as a pro hero and Touya is not going to let him steal his ranking from underneath him.

    Unfortunately for Touya publicity stunts for public votes don't necessarily just attract the attention of his fans.

    Heroes are kind. Heroes save people. Heroes want to help people no matter what. Heroes are like All Might, smiling regardless of how a tough a fight is. Heroes, Izuku has learned, can also not be heroes at all.
    One article about a bad hero turns into four articles, then ten, then twenty and soon the whole country is reading about licensed villains playing at savior. Izuku writes them haphazardly, picking heroes whose wrong doings are masked by their fame. That is, until he meets Endeavor.

    In other words; the one where Izuku sees the fault in the hero system, makes it his mission to fix it with the help of one burnt fire-user vigilante, and eventually finds himself deeper in this mess than he originally planned.

    Quirk History was a mandatory subject in every junior, middle and high school in the world, and Todoroki Touya didn't sleep through his whole education - he'll have you know he almost finished it, too.

    So he shouldn't be quite so dumbfounded by the news, if, say, he was so fucking stupid as to let the Number 2 Pro Hero in Japan hit it raw in an alleyway in Hiroshima.

    Really, he should be mature and take responsibility for his own mistakes.

    Alternatively, he's going to roast a pigeon and feed it to the Hero Commission.

    And then, have a completely new kind of mental breakdown because he's not ready to be a single parent.
