“Sansa,” he calls her.
“No, Jon,” she says, stopping but not turning back around, she’s not sure that if she looked at him again she would find the strength to really go through with it. “Please don’t make this even harder.”
So they stand there, Jon staring at her back, and Sansa staring at the car waiting to drive her away from here, from him, a million words unsaid between them. Maybe, in another life, a better and kinder one, they would have spoken about their feelings. But not in this one. Not here, not now. In this life silence is easier than the truth.
She makes it three steps before his voice stops her once again.
“I’ll always be here.”

After the defensive spell she cast against Joffrey went awry, the Sorceress Cersei cursed her after all. “If my son’s heart was not good enough for you, none shall be. From this day until your last day, Sansa Stark, your love will be like poison. Any man who you should love, who falls in love with you in return, shall perish.”
Despite her dear granny's attempts to lessen Cersei's evil spell, she just can't take that kind of risk. Not even for Jon Snow, right?
