Simon’s fingers scraped the bottom of the pill bottle. He gathered the rest of them up anyway and swallowed them dry. A few dissolved on the back of his tongue, leaving a disgusting taste in his mouth.
He wiped the back of his mouth with a gloved hand and swung his bag over his shoulders. His mother was asleep, so he knew he was good to go out.
