“I apologize, but you need to undress,” Jing Yuan says. He keeps his hands behind his back like he’s afraid of them jumping out somehow.
Blade doesn’t think of the implications; that the person in front of him, someone who is practically a stranger, requested of him something so uncouth. There was a point of living where shame no longer mattered. He only wishes the stench of iron and the clumps of blood clinging to his every crevice would dissipate.
Even if Blade tried to undress, his hands wouldn’t let him. Nerves lay forever damaged in his fingers, causing his numb hands to shake and feebly grasp at the stained fabrics around his chest. The weight of seven centuries engulfs him in its exhausting embrace.
“Help me, then,” Blade requests.
Blade gives Jing Yuan an unconventional visit after a mission gone wrong. Remembering too much or nothing at all— what is worse?

Summary
Jing Yuan sighs, eyes drifting half-shut, and it is only then that he sees it: the faintest light filtering through his windows, coated in shadows that cling as water does to skin; the faintest glimpse of things utterly inhuman, sharp and pearlescent and looming, scaled limbs rippling like waves. A mirage that is there one second and gone the next, drenched in more than just rain.
Cloudhymn, he thinks, and the thought slips away as easily as it came, losing itself in fog.
There is no need to think of such things, or to see more than that. All he needs is to stay like this, pliant and still, neck bared to the moon.
Or: There is no place aboard the Luofu that the Ancient Sea cannot reach. Not even the General’s bed.

Summary
“Yuan-er,” Yingxing doesn't try to keep the fondness from his voice, but it also doesn't conceal the husky lust that drips from his lips, his eyes. “Does it feel good already? Do you like being laid out like this for us? There's no way to squirm your way out of our focus now.”
Almost reflexively, Jing Yuan tries and fails to curl in on himself. Dan Feng places a hand on his lower stomach, delighted in how it twitches.
“Breathe,” Dan Feng reminds him gently. “Breathe, and be still.”
Or, Dan Feng instructs Yingxing on how to give a proper apology to their favorite lieutenant, but gets lost in his own thoughts along the way. Yingxing has just the thing to ground him.

It's with these lingering thoughts that Dan Heng once again picks up the Jade Abacus, intending to pass it between his fingers like the answers will reveal themselves if he stared hard enough, when he almost drops it - he fumbles with it briefly before resecuring his grip. It's warm to the touch, something it has never been before. He wonders for a moment if someone has been in the Archive handling it - a dangerous thought - when his phone beeps. He glances at it out of habit, not expecting much but perhaps a snapshot from Stelle, and is surprised again to see Jing Yuan's name pop up as a notification.
