The book, if it could be considered a book without binding, without a cover, and without end, was a record of countless universes, each one captured on a page that was gossamer thin, representing, he supposed, the fragility of life contained within. Perhaps the correct term was timelines, rather than universes, an infinite number of timelines created when Pucci – dear, devoted Enrico – had used his Stand, the final evolution, the culmination of everything DIO had wanted to wield himself. Pucci had done it for him, and now Pucci, too, was gone.

Dio rolls his eyes. "Why what, dearest Jojo?"
His sarcasm lashes out, acidic and cruel, and Jonathan looks as genuine as ever.
"Why can't we just get along? Why can't we be brothers, Dio?" Jonathan demands, taking a few steps forward. They're close, now, and Jonathan's voice is softer.
Dio's glare deepens, and a dozen thoughts flash through his head. I hate you. I love you. I want nothing to do with you.
