    “Viktor and I are—” Mel started
    “Very similar. That’s why it’s you two. Why I couldn’t choose.”
    “Us two?”
    “Yes, who else?” Jayce said, kissing her palm. “I just wish you’d get along. So we could all be…together.”
    Mel arched an eyebrow. There was more to that “together” than he wanted to let on. She moved her hand to his chest. She could imagine a pale one next to it easily. Viktor was infuriating, but she knew beauty when she saw it. There was something there. She had always understood why Jayce wanted him.
