He didn’t know her, not really, not beyond the little glimpses of her that he’d caught on off seconds, in little jokes, half-smiles. He felt, for an unexplainable reason, that he could see Rebecca clearly if he didn’t look directly at her.
At the same time, he also felt like he’d known her for a long time. The two feelings overlapped like the transparent curtains on the bedroom window upstairs, the ones that always waved when he left the window open when the first crisp breeze of fall came through. The two colors of the material would blend into a beautiful middle hue that felt more real than the two separate ones.

Summary
It's the summer of 1993 and Rebecca Welton finds herself spending three months across the pond in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It's the last thing she wants to do mere weeks before she leaves home for Uni, but she has no choice. Her plan is simple: be as invisible as possible until they return to London.
But her plan seems ruined when she runs into Ted Lasso on her first day at the beach. Suddenly she doesn't feel like being invisible, or keeping to herself. Instead, she wants to spend as much time as possible with this boy from the Midwest. And she realizes Ted might just be everything she needed.
