Work Text:
Jimin didn't have a dramatic death. He was just simply stabbed to death in his sleep. He woke up floating above his dead body confused as fuck.
Jimin had gotten used to hanging around his apartment all day by himself. Opening the fridge, closing the fridge, climbing into bed, on the couch, going back to the fridge, closing the fridge... It was a shame he never had any food since he couldn't leave his apartment.
It took three months after his body was removed before he got the shock of his life. Or death...
The owner of the apartment building had found a new tenant to rent his apartment.
It took Jimin not even three days to get his his new "roommate" to move out. The main thing that did it was the opening of the fridge and his bedroom door.
-
Six months Jimin spent scaring people out of the apartment and it got to the point where when the building owner showed possible new tenants the apartment they had to mention that it was most likely haunted.
Until one day.
Jimins new roommate didn't seem bothered by the whole haunted apartment thing and Jimin wanted so badly to scare him out like all the others.
Until he saw him.
"Oh my god he's hot as fuck!" Jimin practically shouted as the boy entered the front door with his suitcase. The ghost didn't hesitate float over and and around the boy to get a better look as he looked around the apartment.
"Actually." Jimin mused as he watched his new room mate unpack. "I think I won't mind you're company..."
-
Jungkook was his name. According to the messages and phone calls he received. Jimin loved just watching Jungkook do anything (and yes that included getting changed and showering). He even stopped his terrible fridge opening habit.
But Jungkook was obviously suspicious, and Jimin may or may have not caught something his roommate dropped before placing it down gently.
And Jimin didn't notice Jungkook starting to take photos of random places.
Jimin was watching the tv Jungkook had turned on, resisting the urge to change channel, when he heard he tattle tale sound of a camera shutter. He looked over to see Jungkook smiling as he stared into the camera of his phone. "I knew you were here." He smiled.
Jimin was shocked. There was no way, no way, that Jungkook could see him. So he crawled over to the other side of the couch to see how Jungkook would react. "You can see me?" He asked.
The black haired boy holding his phone just smiled as his camera followed Jimins movements. "I can't hear you." He said seeing Jimins mouth move. "But I can see you through the camera lens. But you're a little see through." He said, smiling as he watched the shocked look on the ghosts face.
The two just stared at each other for a long moment before Jungkook had a thought. "Can I record you?" He asked and Jimin tilted his head in question. "Maybe I can hear your voice through something?" Jungkook explained and Jimin nodded. "Cool, I'll give you a minute to just talk and we'll see." Jungkook then pressed record and gave Jimin the go.
Taking a breath Jimin started talking. "Hello Jungkook, my name is Park Jimin, I'm a ghost here because I was murdered in my sleep and have been scaring people out of my apartment for nine months. Are you sure you're not freaked out about me? I'm literally a ghost haunting this apartment watching you do everything." Jimin smiled as Jungkook stopped the recording.
Jungkook played the recording and Jimin could hear his voice play through and see himself in the screen of the boys phone and felt like crying in happiness.
"I don't care. I like you. Let's me friends." Jungkook smiled into the space he assumed Jimin was.
-
Jungkook had bought a microphone for Jimin to wear when they discovered that he could be heard through it. And Jimin had also gotten into the habit of wearing Jungkooks t-shirts and varying around a blanket so his room mate knew where he was. Jungkook also taken to carrying his iPad around the apartment. Camera open to see him.
They may have a strange relationship but it worked for them.
