Work Text:
Tsuyu was in a serious bind that only Ochako could get her out of.
"WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO ASUI-CHAN!?" she gasped at the sight of her friend sitting on the nurses sick bed in the shape of a frog.
And no, Asui wasn't wearing her hero costume and she hadn't discovered shape shifting powers that could turn into a frog. And no, she wasn't her usual anthropomorphic froggy self. She was a frog. A real darn frog. She wouldn't have believed if it Momo wasn't sitting there crying, lamenting the state of her friend!
"Tis the work of a villain's quirk I'm afraid." Aizawa said as he tutted at Asui's sorry state. "And there's only one way to undo it. Ochako, are you familiar with the old fairy tale?"
This made Ochako's skin turn red, pink and some over shades of colour all over her body, as she screamed.
"You're not seriously saying that I should I... I should..."
"It's the only way Ochako. Tsuyu needs a kiss from her beloved to break the curse." Aizawa smirked.
"Are you saying I love her?!" Ochako squeaked, covering Tsuyu's little frog ears in case she could still hear or understand them. "Aizawa Sensei, how-"
"I'm sorry Ochako." Momo sobbed and then blew her nose hard into the hanky Eraserhead gave her. "I know you asked me not to say anything, but this is Tsuyu's life hanging by a thread!"
"Did Tsuyu hear about this?!"
"No, I covered her little froggy ears."
Ochako sighed in relief and blushed when she and Tsuyu met each other's gaze. She bit her lip as she stared at the froggy girl for what felt like forever, before Aizawa put his hand on her shoulder.
"You know, if she doesn't like the kiss then you can just say you were trying to be a good friend and apologise. At least then you'll know how she feels about you." her teacher gave what he hoped was a comforting smile, but Ochako didn't feel any better at the prospect of getting her heart broken a second time. Being rejected by Izuku was hard!
But... when she looked into those hopeful, pleading eyes that said her new crush was trapped in a body she didn't want to be in - Ochako took a deep breath and decided to give up her pride to save her friend.
"I'm going for it!" Ochako squeaked. "Some privacy please!"
Aizawa motioned for Momo to follow him outside the hallway, as Ochako mentally prepared herself for her first kiss.
"Come here Tsuyu." she said softly and her froggy companion obeyed her command as she climbed into Uraraka's hand. "If you don't like this, push me away as soon as you get your body back and I'll stop."
"Okay... 1... 2... 3."
On the count of three Ochako pressed her lips to Tsuyu's and was surprised.
Her lips weren't slimy, like the books said they would be.
Ochako didn't feel the disgusting slither of a slimy tongue trying to go down her mouth, like her mother said would happen if she kissed someone.
And Ochako didn't feel like the world was going to end after she admitted to herself and to Momo that she liked girls too - in fact it felt like a brand new world had opened up to her with this one, sweet kiss.
And the best part? Tsuyu didn't even break away from the kiss when she got her human body back.
When the girls decided they finally needed air and broke the kiss, they just stood there smiling at each other and basked in the afterglow.
"Momo was lying." Tsuyu said with the biggest smile on her face. "I heard everything."
"I forgive her." Ochako blurted out without a second thought.
"Oh my gosh..." From the hallway, Momo could be heard blowing her nose on her hanky - again. "I'm crying for a totally different reason now!"
"I knew all those kids needed was a little push."
Momo gasped!
"Are you saying they didn't need to kiss at all to get Tsuyu-san back to normal?!"
"I could have called Tsuyu's mother and it would have had the same effect but... Who wants to pick up the phone to a student's mother, am I right?" Eraserhead chuckled.
"Aizawa-sensei, you're terrible!"
"Yes, but I am a mighty good matchmaker!"
