Work Text:
"Do you think Aizawa-sensei is in a relationship?"
Midoriya almost choked on his drink as Todoroki spoke for the first time that lunch, pushing his udon idly around his plate.
"Is that why you've been so quiet?" he asked, and Todoroki shrugged, not gracing him with an answer.
"We shouldn't pry into our superior's private lives," Iida added, "Let's just forget that you said that..." He frowned as he spotted how Uraraka was suddenly far more interested in their conversation, putting his chopsticks down with a sigh. "Don't tell me you approve of this, Uraraka-chan."
Uraraka looked down at her food and shrugged. "I mean... I have wondered..." she said, "He doesn't seem to be the kind of person to be interested in relationships, but you never know."
"Uraraka-chan!" Iida shot her a glare across the table and Midoriya giggled.
"It couldn't do any harm to ask, right?" he said, "It's not like we don't know him."
"Midoriya-kun's right," Todoroki said, "But it might be a bit strange. I doubt Aizawa-sensei would appreciate it."
"The whole point of being an underground hero is that people don't find out about that kind of thing," Midoriya picked up his juice box as he spoke, squeezing the cardboard as he sucked out the last mouthful, "So it would probably be more tactful if we asked someone else."
"Like who?"
"Isn't he close to Mic-sensei?" Uraraka asked, "I could always ask him. I think he likes me."
"You do?"
"She always does extra credit work for English," Todoroki pointed out, "She’s one of his top students."
Iida finished his last mouthful and crossed his arms. "I can't believe you three are thinking about this seriously," he said, "I want no part of this."
"Come on, Iida-kun!"
"We could get in trouble!" he picked up his tray and got to his feet, "I'm going back to the classroom. If anyone asks I was never here."
Iida did as he said and returned to the classroom, sitting at his desk as he waited for his friends to return from the lunch hall. Now that his teacher's relationship status had been brought up he couldn't stop thinking about it, but he remained positive that any kind of intervention in his personal life- no matter how big or small- was a direct violation of his privacy.
He was separated from his thoughts as the classroom door opened and Sero and Ashido walked in, obviously deep in conversation.
"...do you think they're trying to... Y'know..." Ashido asked, and Sero laughed.
"Trying to what? Set Aizawa-sensei up with someone?"
Iida was about to interrupt their conversation when he heard the unmistakable growl of Bakugou's voice from the other side of the room and he decided that it would be best if he were to stay quiet.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" He stood up and walked over to them, "There's really nothing that those idiots can keep their noses out of, huh?" Sero shrugged.
"They're not really doing anything wrong," he said, "I don't think..." His voice trailed off and Bakugou raised an eyebrow.
"Don't think what?"
"I don't think Mic-sensei will actually tell them," he made his way over to where Kirishima and Kaminari were deep in a separate conversation. "We should probably forget about it."
"Whatever," Bakugou said, joining them with Ashido, "It's not like I cared in first place."
The subject of their homeroom teacher's relationship status wasn't brought up until that evening in the common room. Most the class were studying, though a few had already gone to bed. It wasn't yet late enough for Aizawa to be checking up on them, so Uraraka took the opportunity to put her pen down and make her announcement.
"So," she said, raising her voice so that everyone else would know that she was addressing the whole group, "Aizawa-sensei is single."
"Huh?" Jirou took her headphones off her head and frowned, "Why do we need to know?"
"Because we're going to set him up with someone," Ashido said, seeming glad to have something to talk about that wasn't the simultaneous equations that sat on the floor in front of her.
"Wait, we?"
"Ha! So you are going to set him up!"
Yaoyorozu sighed and shook her head. "That's probably not allowed, you guys," she said, "Besides, if Aizawa-sensei wanted to be in a relationship that badly, I'm sure he'd already be in one."
"That's exactly what I said!" Iida interjected, "I'm worried we'll get in trouble!"
"Saying 'we' makes it sound like you want to get involved," Kaminari pointed out, looking up from his work, "Plus, he spends all his free time in a sleeping bag. I don't think he'd be capable of getting laid by himself-"
"Getting laid?!" Jirou wrinkled her nose and Bakugou made an angry noise.
"Thank a lot, Pikachu," he snapped, "That's an image I didn't fucking need."
There was silence for a moment- it seemed that image was a shared one throughout everyone's mind and faces showed varying degrees of disgust. It was Tokoyami who broke it, sighing as he leaned back on the couch. "So is this going ahead or not?" he asked, "I need to know if this is gonna get in the way of anything."
Kirishima nodded. "Helping someone find love," he said, stretching as he finished the final sum in his maths book, "That's so manly you guys. You should be proud of yourselves."
And thus, Operation Get Aizawa-sensei A Date got underway.
--
"Psst, Tsuyu-chan," Ashido leaned backwards in her seat while Aizawa had his back turned, trying to keep her voice down.
"What is it, kero ?"
"What kind of person do you think Aizawa-sensei would be into?"
Tsuyu brought her finger to her lip in thought for a few moments, looking up her teacher then back at her classmate. "I'm not sure... I don't think he's the sort of person who'd care about looks, kero ."
Ashido nodded- Aizawa didn't exactly seem to present himself in any way that didn't look like he'd just got out of bed and most of the time this was actually the case. "Maybe we should set him up with someone he's already close to," she said, "Like a friend or-"
"Ashido."
She looked up as she heard her teacher say her name, sighing as she realized that the entire lesson had come to a standstill. "Yes, sensei?"
"Would you like to share what you were talking about with the rest of the class?" He asked and Ashido looked down, shaking her head. "If I catch you talking again, I'll have no choice but to give you detention," he turned back to the chalkboard and Ashido felt half the eyes in the room travel to her.
"Sorry, sensei," she mumbled, before picking up her pen and jotting down notes once again.
--
Their study sessions in the evening slowly turned into class meetings about setting their teacher up. During these meetings, potential partners were suggested while homework was kept out, just in case Aizawa was to come in to check up on them. Iida and Mono remained in one corner, still studying but occasionally finding themselves distracted by what was going on.
"Ashido-chan was talking to me in class," Tsuyu was saying, "She brought up the idea of setting him up with someone he's already acquainted with, kero." Ashido grinned and there was a hum of agreement throughout the room.
"So like a faculty member?" Midoriya offered and everyone nodded before the room went silent once again as everyone was deep in thought.
When a suggestion was finally made, it was Ojiro who spoke, biting the end of his pen as he did. "How about Kayama-sensei?" he asked, "I know she doesn't seem to be his type, but they are friends."
"How do you know that?" Kaminari said, and Jirou grinned.
"We caught a glimpse at his phone once," she said, "And he had a text from Kayama-sensei saying that she had to cancel drinks after work. They've gotta be friends if they get drinks after work together."
"But how are we going to get the two on a date?" This time it was Hagakure who spoke, the arms of her fleecy pyjamas rising as she stretched, "We can't really just go up to him and say 'Hey, Aizawa-sensei, Kayama-sensei wants to ask you out. That would be weird and I'm pretty sure he'd work out what we're doing."
There's more nodding followed by more silence as every thought mulled over what she'd said for a few moments.
Tokoyami was the one to break the silence in the end. "We could text her," he said, "On his phone. That way it would seem like it's actually coming from him." This was met with mixed reactions- some intrigued and some worried at the thought of stealing their teacher's phone. When the clamour finally died down, Bakugou sighed, crossing his arms and putting his feet up on the coffee table.
"And how the fuck do you expect us to do that?" He said, "That's a shitty fucking plan if you ask me. Aizawa-sensei isn't blind. If he sees us stealing his phone we'll all be under house arrest."
As much as some of them disliked it, Bakugou was right. Perhaps it would be different if Aizawa was just a teacher, but him being a pro hero meant stealing from him, even if it was to set him up on a date, was one of the riskiest things they could do. Everyone seemed to be in agreement- except Jirou.
"You're all idiots," she said, curling one of her earphone jacks around her finger, "One, we literally have someone who's invisible in the class. Two, Kayama-sensei is the wrong person for him anyway."
Bakugou sat up, eyes narrowed. "What the fuck do you mean?"
"I mean Hagakure, obviously. She's completely invis-"
"No, the second part. What do you mean she's the wrong person?"
"Maybe she means Aizawa-sensei isn't into... You know," Kaminari said, "The whole bondage thing."
Jirou laughed, shaking her head. "No, stupid," she said, "I mean he's gay."
Bakugou snorted, rolling his eyes. "You can't prove that."
"I don't need to."
"That's fucking-"
"Stop arguing," Uraraka sighed, "It's too late in the day for that. If Aizawa-sensei is gay, we'll soon found out. Jirou-chan, could you explain how we'd use Hagakure-chan's quirk to get his phone? She'll be in her uniform, he'll still be able to see her."
"She'd pretend to be ill so that she wouldn't have to wear her uniform," Jirou explained, "Then while Aizawa-sensei is distracted, she comes in and takes his phone. Simple."
There was a nod of agreement throughout the common room. A few more ideas were suggested, but Jirou's seemed to be the only one that made any sense, so that evening Hagakure went to bed early, stopping by Aizawa's room to tell him that she didn't feel well. Being invisible helped with this, since she didn't have to make herself look sick in order to be believed.
She didn't show up to homeroom the next day, and while the rest of 1-A were outside taking part in combat training, the door to the classroom opened and an invisible figure took a phone out of a bright yellow sleeping back underneath the teacher's desk, leaving just as quickly as they'd entered. During afternoon registration, Iida Tenya could've sworn he'd heard his teacher mumbling something about a lost phone, but he didn't have the heart to snitch on his classmates. I mean, it couldn't hurt, could it?
The text was sent not long after school ended. Hagakure felt a little bad about actually sending the text herself, so Ashido snuck into her dorm room and did it for her. The message was simple- a request to meet up with her for drinks after work alone the next day. Nothing romantic was mentioned, but it was definitely implied. That evening, Midoriya and Uraraka made their way to Aizawa's room with the phone, knocking on his door and waiting somewhat nervously for him to open it.
When he did, he looked tired- more tired than usual- though perhaps that was because he was no longer in his hero attire like they were used to. He regarded them with his usual half-glare, half-fond smile before saying, "Shouldn't you two be getting ready for bed?"
"Sorry, sensei, we just..." Midoriya held out the phone, stumbling over his words a little, "We found this and heard that you'd lost yours and was wondering if this was it."
Aizawa took it from him and gave him a small smile as he unlocked it. "Ah, thank you," he said, "Now get ready for bed. Just because you found my phone that doesn’t mean lights out is any later for you."
They did as he asked, biting the inside of their mouths to stop themselves from giggling. Phase one of Operation Get Aizawa-sensei A Date was complete.
--
Shouta couldn't remember asking Nemuri to meet up with him for drinks, but he couldn't remember sending half the texts he did, since he was almost always half-asleep when he was on his phone. After lights out the next evening he met up with her at their usual bar as he'd at some point requested, sitting down in their usual seats by the bar. It was surprisingly busy- it was a popular place, but hardly ever this full on a week day.
Nemuri was late (as usual) so he started on his marking for the evening while he waited for her to arrive.
When she finally showed up, she looked more than a little battered- her hair was tangled and matted, and the Lycra of her costume torn across the arm and shoulder. She had a jacket over it- mostly because her costume was generally deemed too inappropriate for a public bar- but Shouta suspected it was to hide the remains of more injuries. He took her handbag from her before helping her up onto the bar stool, watching as she downed her drink and quickly ordered another from the closest bar tender.
"Run in with a villain?" He asked, and Nemuri nodded.
"Villains, actually," she told him, "And it was obviously planned. They knew what they were up against."
"Oh?"
"Yeah..." She downed her second drink, "They all had gas masks. My quirk was useless against them." She sighed and leaned her head on his arm, pouting a little as he ran a hand through her hair.
"Are you okay?" Shouta asked, and again she nodded.
"Recovery Girl patched me up," she said, "But I'm stressed and pissed." She drank her third drink, a little slower than before, then picked up her handbag and got to her feet. "I'm going to change in the restroom," she told him, "Can you order me some water? I don't really fancy drunk sex tonight." Shouta rolled his eyes but did as she asked as she made her way to the restroom.
She came out not long after, looking much tidier. She had combed through her hair and applied makeup to cover the bruises on her face, her hero attire replaced with regular clothes. She sat down beside him and drank the water he'd ordered for him before looking up at him. "Was there any reason why you asked to meet up?" she asked, "You never come to a bar without Hizashi unless you want to hook up with someone."
"I don't remember," he said truthfully, "I'm guessing that was what I wanted but... I don't see any reason why I invited you."
She slid off the bar stool, pulling her hair up into a pony tail before twisting it into a messy bun and pinning it into place. "Well you're not hooking up with me," she said, taking his capture weapon off of his shoulders and stuffing it into her bag for him, "Now go see if any of the guys here are queer. You look like you could do with loosening up a bit."
--
Naturally, everyone noticed that Aizawa had come to homeroom without his capture weapon. He looked strange without it, but that wasn't what was catching people's hair the most.
During maths that day, Kaminari leaned backwards in his seat to pass a note to Kirishima.
'Dude' it read, 'Did you see those marks on Aizawa-sensei's neck'
Kirishima waited for the teacher to turn his back before scribbling down a reply.
'Yh. Do you think they were... Ya know...?????'
'Hickeys?'
'Yh'
'Idk. Should we ask him?'
'Lets talk about this later. In case we get caught.'
Kaminari rolled eyes but stuffed the piece of paper in his pocket, turning his concentration back on the lesson.
At lunch, the entire class gathered to one side of the classroom to discuss the state that their homeroom teacher had showed up in. Tokoyami was the first, sat up on his desk as he spoke. "It appears we were successful," he said, "Aizawa-sensei seems to have had a..." He paused as he thought of what to say, "A nice night with Kayama-sensei."
Kaminari sniggered as Bakugou rolled his eyes. "How do we know that they actually like eachother and didn't just fuck?" He said, and Jirou took this as an opportunity to interject.
"How do we know that they fucked each other?" She said, "We don't even know if they're into each other like that. They could've just gone to a bar together and went home separately."
There was silence. Everyone seemed to be in the process of picking a side- Jirou's or Bakugou's. The silence was eventually broken when Iida came over to them, sighing and pushing his glasses up his face.
"You know," he said, "Wondering about your teacher's love life is one thing, but wondering about his sex life is another thing altogether."
Uraraka nodded. "I guess you're right-" she said, but Ashido interrupter before she could finish.
"Come on, Iida-kun, it's not that bad," she said, "All we did is set them up on a date. It's not like we forced them to have sex."
"Ashido-chan is right," Midoriya shrugged, "And you're forgetting- Aizawa-sensei is thirty and Kayama-sensei's thirty one. It's not like-"
"Hold on, how do you know how old they are?"
"... I asked...?" Midoriya shrugged like it was no big deal before continuing, "And to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Kayama-sensei was comfortable with telling us, so maybe we should ask her."
Iida sighed in defeat as the others all nodded.
"We should at least elect someone to find her," he said, "Let's-"
"It's fine, Iida-kun," Jirou interrupted him, sliding off the desk upon which she sat, "I'll go find her."
"I'll go too!" Kaminari said, joining her side, and before any protests could be made or elections could be held, the two of them had disappeared out of the door and down the corridor towards the faculty room.
"Do you still think he's gay?" Kaminari asked. Jirou nodded.
"It just seems obvious to me," she said, "But I could be wrong. Who knows?" She paused as they came to the faculty room door, knocking on it and letting Kaminari wait some distance behind her. "If he is, we'll soon find out."
Thankfully, it was Kayama who opened the door, her hair pulled out of her face in a high bun and a small red mark peeking out from under the top of her hero costume. She gave the pair a grin as she saw them, folding her arms and leaning against the doorframe. "Come to ask about last night, hmm?" She said. Jirou and Kaminari both nodded. "Well," Kayama continued, the smile on her face growing, "You lot are completely wrong about both of us."
"What do you mean, Kayama-sensei?" Kaminari asked.
"We're both gay."
"Wait, really?"
Jirou rolled her eyes and tutted. "I told you so," she said, "But you never listen, do you?"
Kayama laughed. "Is that all you came to ask about?" She said, her grin widening as the two of them nodded. "In which case, could you give this to him?" he handed them his capture weapon, folded up neatly in a plastic bag. Jirou took it and thanked her, but as she turned to leave, Kayama spoke once more. "Oh, and if you really want to set him up with someone," she told them, "Try someone he already knows. He hates meeting new people." Then, before either of them could thank her for this advice, the faculty room door shut, leaving them alone in the corridor.
"Well," Kaminari said, "That was helpful."
Jirou didn't answer, punching him in the shoulder before walking on ahead.
--
"So you're finally deciding to join in, huh, Iida-kun?"
No-one had expected Iida and Momo to join in after the apparent failure of their last attempt to set their homeroom teacher up. Hell, some of them (most notably Midoriya) were worried that they'd report them. So when the two of them joined their meeting that evening, the rest of the class were more than a little surprised. Still, the subject of their sudden interest in their teacher's relationship (or lack thereof) wasn't one that was lingered on- they had more important shit to do.
"So," Jirou said, "Aizawa-sensei's gay."
"So?" Bakugou folded his arms, "He isn’t fuckin' special. Half the class is fucking gay."
Jirou glared at him before continuing, "Kayama-sensei said we should set him up with someone he already knows. Do we know anyone who-"
Before she could finish, Iida interrupted, pushing his glasses up his face. "My brother," he said, "He's into guys."
Midoriya frowned. "Your brother and aizawa-sensei are friends?"
"Yeah, they were in the same class in high school," he explained, "Apparently he and Mic-sensei used to babysit me when I was younger. He's called me Tenya a couple of times out of habit."
Tsuyu brought her hand up to her mouth in thought before speaking. "How are you going to tell your brother that you want him to go on a date with your teacher, though?" she asked, "Wouldn't that be a bit strange, kero ?" The group nodded in agreement and Midoriya furrowed his brows as he muttered.
"Surely the most tactical way would be to not mention anything vaguely romantic," he said, "I mean, if they did already have interest in eachother, they would’ve done something about it. Perhaps you should get your brother to suggest meeting up with him instead of-"
"Midoriya-kun," Iida gave him a smile and he looked up, pulled out of his mutter-trance.
"Yes?"
"I don't think my brother would care. He once showed me a video that Mic-sensei took of him pushing Aizawa-sensei through a mall in a shopping cart at eighty miles per hour. If anyone would go on a date with him, it's Tensei."
Of course, there was ten minutes of chatter at the revelation of such a video existing, a video that Iida was eventually forced into promising that he'd find and show to them. When the chatter eventually died down, it was Yaoyorozu who spoke first, softly like she was a little worried about being interrupted or told off.
"So... we're just going to ask your brother? Is that okay?" she said.
"Yes," Iida confirmed, "I promise you, Yaoyorozu-chan, this will all be fine."

Shouta hadn't seen Iida Tensei for a considerable amount of time- he'd visited him in hospital once just after he'd lost use of his legs, but after that he'd been so busy teaching that he didn't really get that many chances to talk to him. So when he received a text from him one weekend asking if he wanted to meet up for lunch, he accepted immediately, not only grateful that he'd have his company for the first time in a while, but also that he'd have an excuse to get away from this ungodly amount of marking he had to do.
They agreed to meet up at a cafe they'd been to several times before, and Shouta was sure to get there a few minutes early, knowing that Tensei would probably be there already. He was right- when he entered the café, Tensei was already there, sat at a table at the back with two mugs in front of him.
Shouta sat down, giving him a quick smile.
"I got your usual," Tensei told him, "I hope that's okay." Shouta nodded and took a sip of the black coffee in front of him, relaxing into the worn down armchair.
"It's great, thanks." He took his glasses out of his jacket pocket and put them on as he spoke. "How's retirement been treating you?"
Tensei smiled, picking up his tea. "It's been pretty good, actually," he said, "I can't exactly go out and save people, but I've been looking into taking a course in psychology or medicine. I thought even though I won't be able to do hero work, I'll be able to keep helping people even in retirement." He took a sip of his drink and smiled contently over at him, "What about you? How's the job, teach ?"
Shouta glared at him. "Don't call me that," he said, "It's annoying." He drank some more of his coffee and crossed one leg over the other, "But it's going fine, considering what the kids have been through...." His voice trailed off and he busied himself by looking through the menu instead. "What are you gonna get?" he asked, ducking his head into his scarf and mumbling so that his face and voice were hidden. He knew that Tensei had seen him do this before- when something was distressing to talk about, he'd often retreat into the warm safety of his scarf or capture weapon (whichever he had with him at the time)- it was something he'd done since high school and it wasn't exactly hard to notice. Tensei decided not to pry- in his experience it had only made things worse.
There was silence for a while as the two looked through their menus. Eventually Shouta wriggled out of his scarf, continuing to play with one of the woollen tassels as the waitress came over and took their orders. Once the menus were gone, there was no excuse for the lack of conversation. Tensei realised that, and remembering what his brother had told him about his friends' plans for their teacher, he knew what he had to do.
"I hope you don't mind me asking," he said, "But are you uh... seeing anyone?"
"I, uh... no..." he furrowed his brow and frowned. "Why are you asking?"
Tensei was about to answer but before he could, Shouta blinked in surprise, his eyes widening and face going red as he said, "Wait... This is a date?"
Tensei shrugged, picking up his mug again and drinking the rest of his tea. "It can be if you want," he pursed his lips, "Do you want it to be?"
Shouta looked down into his half-empty mug, sighing as he fiddled with the hem of his shirt. "I..." he started, frowning as he thought of what to say. “I wouldn't be against it," he said, "But... Ah, this is going to sound weird..."
"What is it?"
"... I'm sort of... Saving myself?"
Tensei raised his brows in surprise. "Saving yourself?" He said, "Wait, for who? And why?"
"Look, I've just liked someone for a while," he said, "And if they like me back, I don't want to be stuck in a relationship I don't want to be in when they tell me." Shouta yawned and stretched, scratching the back of his head. "I'm too tired for this..."
Tensei didn't speak, wondering who on earth Shouta could be talking about but deciding not to ask him. By the way he was doing all he could to avoid eye contact he could tell that this probably wasn't something that he was used to talking about- or wanted to talk about for that matter. But still, his mind wandered to who it could be while he ate. A friend perhaps? He was always more comfortable around those he knew, and almost everyone that Shouta spoke to he spoke to. Then again, if Shouta hadn't told the people he was closest to about them, that probably meant that they didn't know them. Either way, inquiring further wasn't the best idea, so Tensei kept his mouth shut.
The rest of their not-date was relatively uneventful. They ate in silence, with the odd apologetic look from Tensei. He was glad that he hadn't pushed him further- besides, by what his brother had told him, his class knew exactly what they were doing when it came to setting him up with people. Hell, maybe they'd be able to find out who Shouta's mystery crush was since they saw him every day. He had to admit, when Tenya had told him about what he and his friends were doing he'd thought it was... well, weird. But when he'd explained it to him, he realised that what they were doing wasn't hurting anyone (even if it was kind of funny). Plus, out of all of Tensei's friends, Shouta was the only one to have never been in a relationship. Thirty years was a long time to have been single for, it was about time he got out there. So all in all, class 1-A was doing him a favour.
Once they'd finished their food, Tensei offered to pay- which naturally Shouta accepted, because who the hell doesn't want a meal for free? He called a waiter over to pay the bill, and as soon as he left with his money, Shouta sighed and spoke for the first time since their food had arrived.
"It's Hizashi."
"Hm?"
"I'm in love with Hizashi," he explained, "Have been since we left high school."
"Does he know?"
"No. Which is how it should be."
There was silence. Shouta and Hizashi had always been close, and rumours of one having feelings for the other had circulated throughout their class in high school (and according to Nemuri, now amongst the staff at UA too) but as far as anyone knew, neither saw the other as more than a friend. Until now, that was.
"Don't tell anyone though," Shouta quickly said, standing up to leave and pulling his scarf over his chin, "or I'll tell everyone that you made out with me in our second year of high school."
Then, before Tensei could come up with some kind of witty reply to him, he left the café. What he was meant to do with this information he had no idea- after all, if Shouta trusted him with something, the last thing he should do was tell someone else, especially his own students. However, he hadn't said not to bring up the fact that he had feelings for someone, so perhaps he could use that to his advantage.

On Monday, everyone gathered around Iida's desk to hear his report of his brother's date with their teacher. He waited for everyone to arrive before clearing his throat and standing up. "Do you want the bad news first or good news?"
"Bad news, fucker."
"Alright, Katsuki-san, calm down," Iida said, "The bad news is that it seemed that Aizawa-sensei has no feelings for my brother."
"And the good news, kero ?"
"Well, apparently there is someone that Aizawa-sensei does have feelings for- and judging by what he told me, it's somebody we know of." There was a murmur of excitement around Iida's desk as he finished speaking. Obviously, everyone wanted to know who their teacher's crush was- and the fact that their teacher had a crush on someone in the first place was honestly really sweet, as well as a huge help to their operation. Now it was just a case of-
"Holy shit , you guys!"
"Kaminari-kun?" Midoriya asked, placing his hands over his ears as his classmate slammed his hand down on the desk, "What's wrong, why did you-?"
"We've been blind!" he answered, lowing his voice a little but not enough for it to no longer be counted as screaming, "I can't believe we didn't see this!"
"See what, dumbass?" Jirou said, curling her earphone wire around her finger, "This better be good."
"Midoriya-kun, Present Mic is into guys, right?"
Midoriya nodded. "He announced it on his twitter a few years ago," he said, and Sero say up on the desk beside him.
"Dude, the guy came to lesson with purple and blue hair because he dyed it for pride," he said, "How did you not realise that he's bi?"
Kaminari didn't answer, instead leaning closer to Iida and grinning. "Didn't you say that they went to school together, Iida-kun?"
"I did," Iida replied, pushing his glasses up his face, "According to my brother, they were pretty much inseparable."
"Huh," Kirishima said, "Sounds like you, Midoriya-kun and Todoroki-kun."
"Good point, Kirishima-kun," Iida said, "So does that mean we should go for it? Setting Aizawa-sensei and Mic-sensei up?"
There was a collective nod as it was decided- with a little luck that might be the last they'd have to set up dates for their teacher.
--
"...Why did you ask me to come here?"
Shouta shoved his hands in his pockets and shivered as Hizashi leaned against the wall, his fingerless gloves doing nothing to protect him from the cold. The temperature had been dropping recently, but the freak snowstorm that had suddenly arrived the previous night meant everything was ten times slower than usual. Shouta was tired and cold and if anyone else had asked to meet him behind his class's dorm building at half-past eight in the evening, he would've said no. But this was Hizashi, the man he'd been pining over like a lovesick schoolgirl since he was sixteen. He could make an exception for him.
"Well," he answered, tucking a strand of his hair behind his ear, which was still slightly hard with hairspray from where he'd only combed it out an hour ago, "This is going to sound... kinda stupid."
"Nothing new there."
"Shut up. Anyway, as I was saying, this is probably gonna be nothing but... I heard something."
Shouta rolled his eyes. "Holy shit, really ?" he drawled, "What next, you're going to say something ?"
Hizashi decided to not answer that one, instead continuing with what he was originally going to say. "Look, I've just heard things about you and I wanna know if they're true, okay?" he said, and Shouta couldn't help but listen- his voice was unusually sincere so obviously what he had to say was important. "I overheard some of your class talking. Uh, about you."
"Was it Katsuki?"
"No."
"Okay, continue."
"According to them, you..." his voice trailed off for a second as he looked at his shoes, "... Have feelings for somebody. And I uh... Want to know who."
Shouta earned up and clenched his fists by his sides, narrowing his eyes as he did. Tensei wasn't meant to tell anyone, he thought to himself, that bastard took advantage of him. No matter what he did to his friend would unfortunately no undo what had already done, so he just decided to focus on what was going on right now.
"Why do you need to know?" he asked, "It's not like it'll affect you in any way." At this, Hizashi let out a nervous chuckle, kicking the stones under his feet before mumbling something under his breath. Shouta folded his arms and narrowed his eyes. "What was that?"
"..."
"Come on, Hiza-chan, it can't be that ba-"
"I like you."
Shouta blinked in surprise. He wondered for a moment if Hizashi could possibly be joking, but no, he was red in the face and playing nervously with the hem of his jacket, two things he'd only ever done when he was being extremely sincere.
"You... like me?" he repeated dumbly, "As in... like like me?" God, he sounded stupid. How old was he, thirty or thirteen? Then again, the man he'd been pining over for over a decade had just told him that he had feelings for him, so he definitely had an excuse. Hizashi looked away, narrowing his eyes and frowning.
"It just kinda sucks when I know you have feelings for someone else, you know?" he said bitterly, "Like, I've loved someone that doesn't think of me as more than a friend for over a decade and-"
"Shut up, Hizashi...," Shouta grabbed him by the wrist, probably a little too tightly, and pulled him closer, "Just.... shut up." Then, before Hizashi could say anything, he stood up straight and gently pressed his lips to his. His eyes widened for a second but he soon relaxed, melting against his mouth and wrapping his arms around him. It didn't last that long, but it was sweet and gentle and everything that Shouta had dreamed that it would be. Hizashi's lips were soft and tasted like the mango lip balm he used, the leather of his gloves surprisingly soft against his cheek. When they pulled away Shouta gave him a smile, still pressed up close to him. "You have any idea who the person I like is now?" he asked, to which his friend just rolled his eyes and laughed.
"You haven't changed at all, Shoucchi," he said, "In all the fifteen years I've known you, you're still exactly the same person."
"Oh? Is that a problem?"
"Of course not. You're a pain in the ass, but I wouldn't want you any other way."

"So they're dating now, huh?" Kirishima turned away from the window to look at Bakugou, Sero, Mina and Kaminari, who were either sat on the floor of bedroom or on his bed scrolling through their phones. Sero stood up and joined him by the window and looked down to the pavement below. Aizawa was pressed closed to Mic, whose arms were wrapped tightly around him as they kissed, perhaps a little too passionately for Sero's liking. He wrinkled his nose and sat back down on the floor. "They sure are," he said, and Bakugou snorted.
"Jesus Christ, it's not that bad," he told him, joining Kirishima and looking down at the two pro heroes beneath them, "See? They're just making out."
"For now," Mina said, yawning and stretching before standing up and going over to the window, shutting the curtains before either Bakugou or Kirishima could make any more comments on their teachers. "Come on, let's go to bed. If Aizawa-sensei knows that we're up past lights out, we're screwed."
