Work Text:

It’s pouring outside and doesn’t look like it’s stopping anytime soon, Yoongi curses himself for not driving to work or bring an umbrella. He continues scanning the variety of produce an older lady came up to his line with. For heaven's sake, why does she need to use a bag for each and every apple?

While he finishes scanning the her food, he hears the bell of the front door bringing, another customer he has to make awkward small talk with. He doesn’t look up while half heartedly muttering, “Hello, good afternoon.”

His line is finally empty for a minute so sneaks his phone out under the counter to pass by time, no one is usually shopping at this time. Poking his tongue out slightly as he concentrates on some addicting game on his phone, he hears small steps and and small voice.

“Is this line open?”

Yoongi quickly shuts his phone off and looks up, “Yeah yeah, go ahead.” He speaks up.

The man, who is definitely shorter and younger than Yoongi, starts emptying out his basket. He unfortunately walked without an umbrella, his dark hair wet and slightly messy. Maybe a little cute.

Yoongi snickers has he starts scanning different fruits and vegetables, punching in a few produce numbers. “Forgot an umbrella? Looks like you’re making a puddle over there.”

“Too obvious?” The dark haired man replies, setting his empty basket in a pile near Yoongi. “I’m new here, walked around trying to find a grocery store or something and it started to rain.”

Laughing, Yoongi nods along. “I’ve lived here for years and didn’t bring an umbrella, so I’m probably the dumb one.” He rings up the last of his items, never enjoying small talk with a stranger before until now.

“$27.73.” He says, smiling a more genuine smile than he usually does. The man nods and slides his card and signs his name. Yoongi strains his neck trying to catch the name he scribbled down.

“Have a good night, don’t get too soaked.” Yoongi grins, gums showing.

“Right back at you, Yoongi.” The man smirks and walks out bags in hand.

“How the fuck..” He trails off, realizing he has that annoying white name tag with his name on it pinned on his shirt.

———-

A week goes by and Yoongi hasn’t seen the black haired guy, he’s definitely not disappointed or wondering when he’ll seek him again.

He’s currently back to being the only one working the cashier out of the four available lines. It being late on a Tuesday night, he spends the rest of his shift on his phone and the occasional customer.

Yoongi hears someone walk in but he doesn’t bother to look up, continuing to scroll through twitter. He really should just bring his homework to work on with all this free time.

“Do you ever actually do your work?” Says a familiar voice. Yoongi scrambles to shut off his phone and hide it away, looking up to the guy from a week ago.

“Don’t sass me little kid.” Yoongi laughs while he starts scanning the guys food.

“I’m not the one working in a grocery store, old man,” he laughs back. Yoongi just rolls his eyes and decides to focus on looking at the food and not his face. “Wow you’re very original with your grandpa jokes.” He bites back with, no real venom.

With the few stolen glances, he takes in the seemingly younger customer’s outfit; black jeans and a tucked in white shirt, and a jean jacket, is he really out for blood? Yoongi seems to think so, feeling out of place with his ugly ass khakis and a polo shirt.

As he pays, signing his name, Yoongi tries his best to look over and make out the name. He’s not desperate, just sick of calling this guy ‘that hot ass dude’ in his head.

“Just ask me for me name, Yoongi.” Hot dude says, dragging out Yoongi’s name.

“Where’s the fun in that?” Yoongi laughs.

“I guess you’re right, see you next week, Yoongi.” He smiles cutely and basically struts out of the place.

———-

“Tae he’s like, he’s adorable! I think I’m in love.” Jimin huffs, sprawled out on his couch.

“Get his number or something.” Taehyung simply says, moving Jimin’s legs onto the floor so he can fit on the couch.

“You say that like it’s easy,” he sighs. “I’ll turn into a mess.”

“You could be dating that guy in no time if you’d buck up.”

———-

“So, tell me who it is.” Hoseok laughs, jumping on Yoongi’s bed.

“First of all, fuck off, and what do you mean?”

“I know you! What little twink pulling your heartstrings?” He nudges at Yoongi’s sides giddily.

Next thing Hoseok knows, he’s pushed on the ground with a bruise forming on his ass. “You’re just sour because you like some kid.” He’s technically not wrong.

“I don’t like him, just thrown off when some hot ass dude with black hair comes into my shop dripping wet from the rain.”

Hoseok snickers, “So you’ve never seen him? Haven’t you basically memorized all your customers?” Yoongi nods, call him weird but he knows all his customers by now. When you’ve spent as long as he has working somewhere, especially a smaller more local store, you have your regulars. “Ya, never seen him. Only today and the same time last week.”

“That’s funny, we got a new coach down at the stupid just last week, dark hair and hot- jesus is he a looker.”

“Hoseok you’re literally straight.”

“I have fucking eyes.”

“There’s no way it’s the guy from my store.”

———-

Yoongi checks his phone, only 30 minutes left until his shift is over with and he can leave for the night. Distracting himself on his phone seems the only way to painlessly get through. The bell on the entrance rings, signaling another customer. He groans audibly, not bothering on putting a fake smile this close to the end of his night.

“Not happy to see me?” The customer whines, coming up to the cashier line.

“Not necessarily, just waiting for my shift to end.” Yoongi slumps against the counter, “You gonna buy anything or are you here just to talk to me?”

Yoongi almost goes to punch himself at the sight of a faint blush rise on the guys cheeks. He quirks his eyebrow, waiting for an answer or explanation.

“Uhm maybe your number? You seem cool and yeah this is probably really weird,” he nervously says. “I should of never let Tae talk me into this.” He says the last part to himself, looking around awkwardly.

“What’s your name?” Yoongi asks, reaching in his pocket.

“Uh Jimin, it’s P-Park Jimin,” he answers

“Okay Park Jimin, come finish your contact.”

Jimin shyly walks back, carefully taking Yoongi’s phone and typing his number in. He sends himself a quick message reading ‘yoongi’s number :)’ before handing it back.

“Wasn’t so hard huh?” Yoongi laughs a little as the once confident Jimin is much more a blushing mess.

“Don’t make me regret actually giving you my number.” Jimin smiles a little, still not looking straight at him.

“I don’t plan on it, go get your groceries.”

Jimin rubs his neck, “Uh,” he grabs a pack of gum and hands it over. “There.” Yoongi laughs in response and scans the gum.

“Came all the way down here just to get my number?”

“Definitely not.”

Of course he did.

———-

“I got his fucking number!” Jimin almost screams when entering his shared apartment.

“No way your pussy ass did that.” Taehyung laughs loudly and receives a glare from his roommate.

“Well, I chickened out, then he asked for my number, but that’s not important.” He jumps onto the couch, landing mostly on top of his friend.

“Well, aren’t you gonna text him?”

“Fuck, what do I say?”

“Well maybe ‘Hello you’re cute let’s get married’ for starters.” He says sarcastically and is met with a slap to the back of his neck.

———-

jimin:
hey!
sorry if it’s late :)

Yoongi looks over at his phone and smiles at the message. He even laughs a little, catching Hoseok’s attention from the loveseat across the living room.

“Awh who turned grandpa hardass into a sap?” Hoseok teases. Yoongi flips him off and turns his attention back to his phone.

yoongi:
im basically a vampire anyways

jimin:
white enough to be one

yoongi:
fuck you
consider yourself blocked

jimin:
:(
like you’d block someone with my face

yoongi:
you’re right
it’s late, you should head to bed

jimin:
already acting like my mom?
you’re right though
goodnight! :)

yoongi:
goodnight jiminie

“What’s the name of the new coach at your dance studio Hoseok?”

“Ah Park something, maybe Jimin?”

———-

yoongi:
wanna get coffee or something someday?
id like to hangout you seem cool enough

jiminie:
message read

They’ve been texting a good amount back and forth. Jimin works down at a local dance studio (which Yoongi figured out) and moved in three weeks ago. He tends to ramble and talk a lot but anything the younger does Yoongi instantly likes. As he figured from the first day they started texting, Jimin is 22 years old (Hoseok definitely didn’t point out the perfect age gap between the two).

Since his last message he sent earlier today, he hasn’t received any enthusiastic text with a bunch of smiley faces. It seems out of place for the friend he made merely weeks ago.

Customer after customer, Yoongi slowly gets closer to closing time. This is usually the day of the week Jimin comes by but he’s nearing the end of his shift and there’s no sight of him.

The clock ticks to 10:00 and his shift is over, he waits for a coworker to come and take his spot. Maybe Jimin just got busy today, he can’t help not to worry about the boy though.

yoongi:
my shift just ended so you’ll have some other cashier if you swing by

Just as he sends the text, he bumps into someone, sending them into the ground. He clutches his phone and is already rambling out an apology and ready to react if whoever he bumped into wants to pick a fight.

“Damn sorry i wasn’t looking, you oka- Jimin?”

Jimin groans and Yoongi holds out a hand to pull him up. “It’s fine I’m okay,” he says as he’s being lifted up.

They take a couple seconds of an awkward silence, both not knowing what to say. Does Yoongi just apologize and walk away? Bring up the coffee hangout (“You asked him on a fucking date Yoongs.” Hoseok laughed.)? Before he can even rationalize what to do and not to do, he just ends up speaking.

“Sorry for that, do you wanna go out to eat? I mean, with some friends of mine?” He finally spits out.

“Yeah sure, just text me the details and I’ll meet you there?” He smiles brightly and Yoongi swears he forgets to breathe. Jimin nods and waves him off.

jiminie:
let’s go for coffee sometime as well :)

———-

“Hey Tae? Have I ever told you how much I love and appreciate you as a roommate?” Jimin says with puppy dog eyes looking up at him from the couch.

“Actually, only when you want something, what is it.”

“Uhm, so I’m going to eat with Yoongi-“

“A date!” Taehyung screams.

“And his friends, and you’re coming with me.”

“I’m not gonna help basically cockblock you from a potential dude.”

Don’t ask how Taehyung made it to Jimin’s room and helping him pick out an outfit, and don’t ask how he’s already dressed to go.

There’s clothes covering ever surface of Jimin’s room and he’s still in lounging clothes from earlier. He swears he’s never had this much difficulty with picking out an outfit. He can’t pick between something light and cute to an outfit with more of an edge to it, the duality.

“Just shut up and wear what I tell you too, you have no say in this anymore Park.” He huffs, sitting on the bed and waiting for his friend to match clothes together.

Fifteen minutes later Jimin is fit in a red and black striped tee, pitch black jeans, and a thick black belt. “I hate you because this looks really good.” He mutters while slipping on shoes.

“Hurry up and finish getting ready, we need to be fashionably early.” Taehyung sings as he goes back down the hallway. Jimin laughs, “The phrase is ‘fashionably late’ you dumbass.”

———-

Yoongi arrives with Hoseok just a couple minutes late, but fashionably late suits them. Jimin and his, friend? Jimin and his friend already have a booth with some chairs pulled up to accompany everyone.

“Jimin?” He calls, walking over. Jimin perks up and sweetly smiles, noticing Hoseok by Yoongi’s side and looks a little confused.

Jimin is sitting next to the wall in his side of the booth, blocking anyone else but his tag-along from sitting next to him. Yoongi sits opposite from him and Hoseok slides in next to him.

“Funny seeing you here Jimin, definitely didn’t hear all about you from Yoongi- fuck.” He curses after the older steps hardly on his foot.

“We have two other friends coming, Namjoon and Jin.” Yoongi explains, hoping Jimin won’t try to investigate on what Hoseok meant. Instead, he turns his attention to the light haired guy sitting next to (way too close, Yoongi thinks) Jimin.

“Oh, this is Tae! Taehyung.” Jimin says excitedly.

Hoseok gives Yoongi a look that means along the lines of ‘dude they’re together?’ and he doesn’t know how to respond besides a confused ‘as if I fucking know” look.

To cut any tension, Namjoon and Jin walk in, hands laced together. “Ah my favorite gays, besides Yoongs.” Hoseok yells too loud for anyone’s taste. The couple takes the two chairs pulled up while Yoongi punches him in the arm. “Bisexual you whore.” The back and forth has Taehyung laughing and Jimin almost a bit flustered.

“Gross couple, this is Jimin the guy who just moved here, and Taehyung his plus one or whatever you wanna call it.” Yoongi says a little frustrated.

After drinks are on the table and food is ordered, conversations flow pretty natural for the group. Namjoon, his boyfriend, and Hoseok seem to be passionate on whatever has gotten Jin rambling on and on about.

Yoongi talks with Jimin mainly. Taehyung joins in to mention he used to work at a grocery store so the two get along decently. The guy seems cool, those two definitely aren’t dating so he has nothing to worry about right?

“Yoongi, I had no clue you knew Hoseok, we work at the dance studio together.” Jimin explains way too bubbly but he loves it.

“Me and Hoseok figured it out after we exchanged numbers, and you told me you worked there. Me and him are roommates, sadly.” He laughs a little, Hoseok catching the end of it and sending him a playful glare.

Jimin and Taehyung seem to easily falling into a conversation to themselves, making Yoongi feel a pinch of jealousy. He can’t help but notice how Taehyung seems to be incredibly touchy with Jimin. May it be from one jokingly feeding the other a fry, or leaning on each other when laughing. The total opposite of how he’s with his friends.

This isn’t the same guy he’s been lowkey complimenting the last week, is it? He even agreed on getting coffee together, you don’t do that if you’re taken. At least not with the context they have.

Yoongi decides to listen in on what the older guys are saying. The latest music recommendations go around the group of four and just generally catching up on each other. He completely tunes out of the conversation, a little bummed over Jimin (but would never admit to it) until he hears a sentence he really wish he didn’t.

“No, Shawn Mendes is a total twink, definitely Yoongi’s type.” Hoseok laughs, almost spitting food everywhere.

“If your straight ass uses the word ‘twink’ again I’m shoving a stick up your ass.” Yoongi replies with a mouth full of food. Jimin starts laughing uncontrollably right after so he assumes it’s because of his response to Hoseok. He smiles widely, full with pride, but he turns his head to actually glance at the boy filled with laughter.

No, of course not. Taehyung is doing some weird thing with his face and Jimin is absolutely losing his shit over it and taking way too many pictures. He definitely missed the whole twink conversation and is having fun in his own little world.

“Stand up, I’m leaving.” Yoongi tries to say quietly to Hoseok. He’s only met with a confused look, “What?”

“I said, move. Just meet me outside whenever you’re done.” He repeats in a demanding tone. Hoseok hesitantly stands up and let’s him out. The others who didn’t hear give him a confused look, “Yoongi?” Namjoon asks, thinking he’s up to use the restroom.

“You guys can finish, I’m leaving.” Namjoon looks around for an answer. Yoongi leaves, probably off to his car, and abandons the boys in booth full of tension.

They get the bills and pay everything, everyone collectively coming to a point that it’s a good time
to go home. Hoseok finally breaks the silence that’s been looming over them. “Uh I’m gonna go check and see what’s up, you guys are welcome to uh, leave.” He waves off the couple and shortly apologizes to Taehyung and Jimin for how his friend has acted.

He finds Yoongi leaning against his car, picking at the rips in his jeans. “Dude what’s up with you?” He asks him, going for the passenger side seat.

“I, I don’t know. Lost my cool,” Yoongi ducks into the car and starts it up. “You can’t tell me you didn’t see those two, he’s let me openly flirt and even flirted back for what, two weeks?” He rants on, driving the two home. “And he brings this Taehyung guy, looks like they’ve been fucking for years.”

“I saw, you should just text him about it.”

“Yeah,” he sighs.

“No, like actually do it.”

“You should actually like shut the fuck up.”

And of course Yoongi is a dumbass and just ignores Jimin. He doesn’t text him later that day, or even at all. Whatever coffee hangout (date, according to Hoseok) that was going to be planned forgotten in his mind. He was never good with feelings but always an expert at pushing them away.

“Have a good night.” Yoongi says, totally not interested on the person on having a good or terrible night. Just another customer until he gets to check out and leave this god forsaken store.

He leans on his hands against the counter, no longer having the strange pep he had the couple of weeks prior. Falling asleep on the job wouldn’t be the best idea, but he can’t be fired. The place is already understaffed and it’s 9:40 at night on Tuesday so someone sue him.

Drifting in and out of sleep, he vaguely hears the bell ring but he can’t seem to be bothered. Whoever is shopping won’t be done for a good 30 minutes so Yoongi can take a power nap and whoever takes up after his shift can wake his ass up.

“Yoongi?” A small voice speaks up, pulling him from a long awaited nap. He shoots up, rubbing his eyes. After adjusting to the brightness, his eyes focus in on, Jimin?

“Sorry uh, for sleeping.” He mumbles, scanning his food quietly. “Not sleeping enough?” Jimin asks, shifting around awkwardly. Yoongi lifts his head up to glare at the younger, “Never have.” He says flatly.

“Oh, uhm did you want to go for coffe-“

“$28.37.” Yoongi interrupts him.

Jimin pays as he bags his groceries, not exchanging another word or look. Maybe Yoongi is being harsh but everything seems to point in a single direction; Jimin is dating his friend and was just oblivious to Yoongi’s intentions.

“Have a good night.” He says with no emotion in his voice, ready to get off of work any minute now. Jimin wordlessly takes his bags and leaves.

In no time Yoongi is relieved of his position and shortly after finally passes through the front doors. The bell ringing definitely doesn’t take his mind back to Jimin. Everything in the grocery store definitely doesn’t reek of the boy.

“Yoongi?” Jimin perks up from leaning against a wall.

“What are you doing out here? It’s late.”

“Why did you just walk out of that restaurant last week?” He asks, walking up to Yoongi. “Did someone upset you? None of us could figure it out.”

“Just go home or whatever, go find a new grocery store while you’re at it.” Yoongi looks back and starts to walk.

Yet, Jimin and his determined attitude washes off that comment and follows him. He needs to know what happened, and he still wants to go get coffee.

“What is wrong.” He whines, trying to put on the cutest face he can. Yoongi stops in his tracks, “You really wanna know?” In which Jimin nods too.

“You and your little fuck buddy or boyfriend, Taehyung? You two just seemed all over each other and it was just, I don’t know I thought you didn’t have anyone like that. Have a good night or whatever.”

———-

“Oh man did you really fuck up, did he really think we were a thing? Gross.”

“Yes, Tae, I realize that. What do I do?”

“Maybe actually explaining it first? Then go out to coffee and make sure you look extra good.” Taehyung explains.

“I’m not a hoe like you.”

“I get more dick than yo-“ Taehyung is cut off with a pillow chucked into his face. “That’s enough, I’ll text him.”

———-

jiminie:
hey im really really sorry
me and tae aren’t dating trust me, he just fucks around
i really hope you believe me :)

yoongi:
you’re lucky you’re really cute

———-

yoongi:
just got here
you close?

jiminie:
just walked in
get off ur phone and you’d notice

Yoongi shoots his head up faster than he’d care to admit. He smiles when he sees Jimin look around for him. Any sour feeling he had about the younger days before have vanished, only filled with some warm feeling Yoongi doesn’t want to name.

“Jimin.” He grins when walking up to him, who kidnapped the cold and annoyed Yoongi with this ball of sunshine. The other smiles and walks over, slight awkwardness filling the air.

“H-hey! I hope you’re not mad at me still, I didn’t know it was coming off that i was with Tae- which by the way that’s gross and you don’t need to worry- but I’m sorry.” Jimin rambles on and Yoongi can only laugh.

“Shut up and let me buy you a coffee.” He scoffs, taming them over to the counter.

An hour later and the pair is still laughing and enjoying each other’s company. Jimin learns Yoongi produces for a living, and also raps a little himself (“Please show me!” Jimin begged.). Also that the grocery store is just a side job, he’s lived in the area for four years, and his age.

(“You’re 24?” Jimin asks, also spitting out his drink.

“Yes? Do I look older?”

“No, you look really good for your age.”

“I’d have to say the same thing for you, doll face.”)

And also that he really likes Yoongi’s compliments but that’s not important.

Yoongi definitely- definitely takes his time to admire Jimin's outfit, this boy has some serious fashion. A simple white long sleeve, the front tucked into black jeans that really are too tight, shoes that look like they cost more than himself, perfectly styled hair and- “Yoongi? Take a picture it lasts longer.”

“Cocky for someone you turns bright pink at the smallest of compliments,” Yoongi smirks. “Cocky for someone who has eyes like a kitten.” Jimin laughs back with.

“Don’t get feisty with me, babe.” The younger drops his head and smiles wide, “Don’t call me babe.” Even thing he tries to act like he doesn’t like the name, the blush rising on his cheeks and his big grin tell otherwise.

Yoongi insists on walking Jimin home, even after he said numerous times he can walk alone. “Just let me be nice to you for once.”

“I let you pay for my coffee.”

“No, I was gonna pay for your coffee even if you didn’t let me.”

Jimin hums in response, ending the conversation. A comfortable silence falls around them as they walk. The street it close to vacant with a few couples and groups walking around. Due to it being difficult to walk side by side on the sidewalk without clearly hugging into the other, their shoulders brush together almost constantly. Though, neither of the two are complaining.

Jimin has not built up the toughest character around Yoongi, blushing at all the compliments from lowkey to blunt. Nothing gets better for his case when a little bunny scurries from out a bush and right in front of the two. The world really does hate Park Jimin. Immediately, he jumps and pushes himself closer to Yoongi, grasping for his hand.

As soon as he realize that, oh, it’s just a bunny, his hand is already linked with Yoongi’s. His cheeks flush a light pink and he doesn’t dare look over to the older. Muttering a shy apology he tries to let go, but his hand is held in place. “Don’t want you getting scared again huh?” Yoongi laughs a little, squeezing his hand.

“Y-yeah, right.” Jimin keeps his head down, lips turned to a bright grin.

They continue walking, hands linked, keeping themselves quiet as they just look around. As well, Jimin does steal a few glances here and there at his hand locked with Yoongi’s (so does he) and feels his heart flutter. Once they reach Jimin’s place they pull apart and say their goodbyes and promise to hangout again soon.

This wasn’t an official date but all signs point to it; paying for the other, compliments, hand holding. C’mon Min Yoongi you aren’t slick.

———-

yoongi<3:
let’s go for a date next time

“Tae! Taehyung get over here.” Jimin squeals practicality, motioning his hands quickly for his friend to come over.

“What? I’m in the middle of this very important drama.” He whines, pausing the television.

“Look.” Jimin passes over his phone to him, his roommate snickering at the heart by Yoongi’s name. He reads the message and doesn’t show any shock. “Aren’t you like freaking out too?” Jimin asks.

“You two literally just went on a date today you dumbass.” Jimin rolls his eyes and focuses his energy on typing back a coherent response.

jimin:
sounds good :)
sorry for the late reply, i was showing tae

yoongi<3:
showing me off already?
cute

jimin;
you’re not one to talk
you kept holding my hand

yoongi<3;
i could just not hold your hand

jimin:
no no i take it back

yoongi<3:
good
you’ve got cute hands

jimin:
stop being weird

———-

“What are you all dressed up for?” Taehyung wiggles his eyebrows as he blops down on the couch.

“A date with Yoongi.” Jimin says with a big smile on his face, continuously fixing his hair in the mirror. He hopes he isn’t too dressed down or up, Yoongi keeping the location a secret.

“Aw I feel like a parent sending out my child on prom night or something, have fun and use protection, ya know?” He teases.

Jimin blushes at the statement and doesn’t respond back, too giddy in feelings. Butterflies flutter in his stomach as he rocks back and forth on his feet, seemingly more nervous today than he was the day prior.

yoongi<3:
just pulled up
bring your cute self down

He smiles and walks quickly down the stairs of his apartment, tripping several different times. Fuck, Jimin curses in his head, it’s definitely way colder than he thought. Let’s just pray the date indoor, he thinks.

He finds Yoongi leaned against his car, his head popping up once he heard footsteps. “There he is.” He smiles and pulls Jimin in for a side hug.

It’s definitely not good weather for just a t-shirt, and Yoongi has a long sleeve on under this. He isn’t a man into the cliches but he’s also all for taking care Jimin.

“You’re taking this.” He laughs midway taking off his hoodie. Handing it over to Jimin, he smiles at the small blush on his cheeks. “C’mon put it on so we can go,” he says with a wink.

To say Jimin didn’t rethink his entire life in the car ride there in an understatement. He’s sitting here wearing Yoongi’s hoodie, which definitely is one size too small but oversized clothing is in, right? He’s also sitting in Yoongi’s car, listing to his music, on their way to a date he picked out.

He taps his foot quickly on the ground of the car, nervousness getting to him again in the quietness between the two. He bunches and un-bunches the sleeves of the hoodie, playing with his fingers.

“You good?” Yoongi asks to break the silence, aside from the soft music. He slides his hand comfortingly to the top of Jimin’s knee, stopping him from bouncing up and down. “Yeah, just a little nervous.”

He hums in response, grabbing Jimin’s hand and intertwines their hands. “Don’t worry, we’re going bowling. That’ll be fun yeah?”

“Bowling, really? God I haven’t been since I was little.” Jimin excitedly talks on about the last time he went, apparently for Taehyung birthday years back. He gives his hand little squeezes here and there to get him blushing, stumbling a little on his story.

Getting lost in a story from Jimin’s past, he doesn’t realize they’ve parked until Yoongi pulls his hand away. He can’t help the slight confusion and pout until he looks around. “Get outta the car, let’s go.”

“Bowling for two for an hour?” The bored teen asks him, god does Yoongi understand his pain. He nods and hands over the money, “Yoongi you paid for coffee,” the younger whines.

“That I did.” He laughs, carrying the both pairs of shoes to their lane.

“Sure your little hands can hold a bowling ball, hm?” He laughs while tying his shoes. Jimin scoffs and gets up to start setting up the names, “I’m putting your name as ‘grandpa’ because you’re one.”

Yoongi sneaks his hands around his waist, “Hm then maybe dollface should be yours.” He snickers, squeezing Jimin lightly before going off to pick out a bowling for them.

He ended up getting his date the lightest ball there, he thinks he’s absolutely hilarious. With the guards down, several turns are taken that result in no pins knocked down. Though, Yoongi starts to have a strike streak and Jimin just thinks it’s pure luck.

“C’mon, just accept I’m better than you.” He grins before getting ready to bowl his last chance to score points. Even though he’s far ahead, Jimin doesn’t want him to get more points and blow him out of the water.

He does a little spin to show off, smirking and laughing, getting his stance ready. Just as he’s about to let go of the ball Jimin calls out, “Good luck baby,” which totally throws him off and the ball lands in the gutter.

Did he hear that? He doesn’t even look at his last shot rolling down to the end of the alley, not able to hit a single pin. Turning around with bright cheeks, he stares down the other. “I can’t believe you used a pet name against me to make me lose that shot.” Jimin laughs loudly, almost collapsing on the floor. The laugh turns to short-breathed giggles as he clutches his chest.

“You’re totally walking home.”

Yoongi does drive him back, he isn’t entirely heartless. His hand finds Jimin’s easily as they start driving, it already becoming a common thing between the friends- if you can call it that.

“I cannot believe you called me baby, you used a pet name for the first time and it was to make sure i didn’t get another strike. God you’re crazy.” He rambles on, smiling like a mad man.

“Hey Yoongi we never really had dinner, you wanna maybe, um come to my place and we can order something? I’ll keep Tae out of your hair i swear!” He perks up in his seat, subconsciously taking the hand Yoongi has off the wheel in both of his hands.

“Why wouldn’t I? Sure thing.” And with that, Jimin beams like a small child on Christmas.

Jimin’s place doesn’t compete with how messy Yoongi’s is, he definitely needs to clean before the other ever comes over. A good sized apartment for the two. And his roommate Taeh- “Jimin! Uhm, Yoongi right?” The boy practically screams.

“Yes, that’s him. I’m ordering some pizza I know what you want, now leave to your room.” He explains as he pushes Taehyung out.

“Wait y’all having like, like sex or-“ “No! no Tae.”

“Use protection, and Yoongi, Jimin thinks you’re really hot and has been absolutely drooling over you ever since he’s moved here. The first day he saw you he was all ‘tae he’s adorable! i’m in lov-“ Jimin shuts the door of most likely Taehyung bedroom after forcing him inside.

He comes back, blush in all, looking absolutely flustered. “Damn I, I’m sorry about him.”

“No worries, it’s cute you’ve been drooling over me since day one.”

After Jimin getting over the awkwardest moment of his life (the first definitely being the bunny incident from the previous day), they chill on the couch and wait for the overpriced pizza to come. Conversation falls easy.

“That’s crazy that you work at Hoseok’s studio. From videos I’ve seen he’s crazy good. I assume you’re good too?” He asks, smirking to make the younger laugh.

“Yes, well I hope I’m good. Dancing just always been my thing, ya know? I sang a little too but that’s just a hobby.”

“If I don’t get to see a video of you dancing soon I’m gonna ask Hoseok for one. And hey, if you’re a good singer like you say, I’ll get you to feature on some tracks if you’d like.” As soon as Yoongi proposes the opportunity, the bell rings.

Stomachs full of pizza and soft drinks they grabbed from the fridge, they’re halfway through Big Hero 6. Yoongi does your typical yawn-stretch-hand around shoulder cliche to Jimin and he bursts out in giggles, but soon turns shy and once again a light shade of pink.

He drops his arm to around the younger’s waist and pulls him closer. “If you wanted to cuddle you just need to ask.”

“It’s hard to actually cuddle not on a bed, give me credit.” Yoongi smiles, “I mean it’s kind of weird to ask but can we go to your room? We can sleep together- fuck not like that but you know? Just sleeping,” he assures.

Jimin didn’t think he’d be ending his night still wearing his jeans, and with a certain Min Yoongi wrapped around his waist. He wasn’t complaining about the fingers running through his hair, or the hot breath on the back of his neck every time the older would speak.

“I’m surprised you let me in your house, I could of been some murderer you know?” Jimin scoffs, “Then let me pray to god since he gave me a hot murderer.”

“Jimin?” He asks, his voice coming out concerned.

“Yeah what’s wrong?” He says, turning back around to face Yoongi.

“No, nothing, and I know this is a funny time to ask considering I’m laying in your bed right now, but would you be good with being my boyfriend?”

Jimin’s face lights up and hugs onto him tightly, mumbling a ‘yes’ he can barely pick up. The two boyfriend soon fall asleep cuddled up and facing each other, their conversation slowly turning to soft hums to snoring.

Who knew, coming from simply a cashier and customer relationship, here the two is, a couple. Yoongi feels like a different person, his heart and mind lightens when around the boy. He gives off such an upbeat attitude and just way of living, it’s hard not too. Jimin as well has definitely picked up traits from his boyfriend (wow- his boyfriend Yoongi!), from the rolling to more cursing.

Taehyung and Hoseok has the best time talking to each other about rooming with each half of the second grossest couple they knew (“I will make out with Jin right on this table to keep our title of grossest couple.” Which was met with a bunch of ‘no’s and ‘please God’).

Jimin wakes up first to the light pouring in from his curtains he forgot to shut. For a couple seconds as he slowly wakes up, he has to think about why another warm body is pressed and tangled against his. A soft groan comes from the person and he’s flooded with memories from last night.

He leaves a kiss on Yoongi’s cheek, waiting for any kind of bad sign. After he sees him trying to fight the smile on his face, Jimin continues peppering kisses along his neck and face. “I’m awake, I’m awake,” Yoongi protests as he finally opens his eyes, squinting at the bright light.

“Morning babe,” Jimin giggles. He hugs his arms around Yoongi and just smiles.

“Mornin’ pretty, sleep well?” Yoongi traces his hand along Jimin’s face, brushing through his messy hair. He nods in response, giving another soft peck on his cheek. “If you don’t get up here and actually kiss me I’m breaking up with you.”Jimin smiles and lifts his head up, scooting up to be able to reach better.

He leans in and softly kisses his boyfriend, laying his hands on his chest. Yoongi cups Jimin’s face lightly, as if he’d break with the wrong movement.

Remember I said the world hates Park Jimin?

“Jiminie! You fucking left a mess downstairs and the tv on dude aga- Did y’all fuck?” Taehyung stumbles in, opening the door with no caution. The couple swiftly pulls away, cheeks turned red.

“No, Tae we still have clothes on, leave will you?”

After he’s gone, the two break out in laughing to break away from any awkwardness. “God, what a good first kiss story,” Jimin mutters between laughs.

“Get over here and I’ll give you a great second kiss story, doll face.” He smiles, pulling Jimin back down for a breathless and less innocent kiss that won’t be interrupted by a loud roommate.
