Dazai Osamu and Nakahara Chuuya promised to find each other in their next life.
A promise between two lovers who loved each other beyond time and space. A promise that will be kept alive by the sheer force of their love, capable of moving the mountains and the stars. A promise strong enough to move the hearts of whichever gods looking down on earth and its hopeless inhabitants – strong enough to have them reincarnated on the same year, on the same country.
A promise that’s apparently not strong enough to have their memories carry over to their reincarnations.
Or maybe the gods are just not completely touched by the tale of their star-crossed love? Or maybe the gods drew cards or threw dice about which things the two lovers get to keep in their second chance at love and life.
Whatever the reason—
Dazai only remembers the red hair and Chuuya only remembers the bandage.
And whatever the reason—
Dazai apparently also remembers the sadness his suicide attempts had brought to his lover. So now, with a reason to live, with a reason to stay alive so he can find his past lover, Dazai doesn’t need bandages anymore.
And whatever the reason—
Chuuya apparently also remembers the bitter jealousy his otherness had brought to his lover. So now, wanting to blend in the world he’s in, Chuuya dyes his hair black.
And now, for some reason—
Dazai and Chuuya both get picked up by the Port Mafia, a notorious underground organization in Yokohama.
But for some reason, they get picked up at different sites at the city, picked up by different people, rescued from their heartbreaking childhood circumstances by different people. Dazai gets picked up by Mori, accompanied by his team of bodyguards which include a red-haired Oda Sakunosuke. Chuuya gets picked up by Kouyou, accompanied by her team of assistants which include a Tachihara that has a bandage on the nose from unceremoniously tripping minutes before.
So now, for some reason—
The two who have been brought to the world for the second time for the sake of their love...
Dazai pines for the red-haired OdaSaku and Chuuya pines for the bandage-on-the-nose Tachihara.
All while not knowing that the person they’ve been searching for is right beside them all along.
