Work Text:

Present Mic has had one of the busiest weeks of his life in years. Along with his regularly scheduled teaching, he had been needed to help out with his radio show every single night this week in preparation for a big event coming up. Not to mention his hero work hasn't exactly been what he'd consider slow.

Between his extra jam packed schedule and the media mess of moving the students into the dorms, Present Mic has kept his energy up and portrayed his usual tenacity flawlessly.

Hizashi Yamada however, was exhausted.

He's been stretched so thin over the past few days that his anxiety was eating away at him and making it that much more difficult to interact in his drained state.

He sighed in relief when his last class ended for the day, thanking his lucky stars that his Friday broadcast was on break this week.

Hizashi trudged towards his husbands classroom. Shoulders slumped and boots dragging heavily against the linoleum. His head ached and his stomach growled, over stimulated and malnourished.

When he dragged himself into the room Hizashi finds the other hero gathering some papers near his desk. He corrects his posture and approaches the calm teacher in his usual fashion.

"Hey, Eraser!" Aizawa took one look at the blonde and immediately furrowed his brow in concern. Noticing how rigid his normally relaxed stance is. How his brows aren't raised to emphasize his broad smile, instead furrowed in his effort to keep the expression on his face.

"Mic." Aizawa responded casually as he tried not to look like he was giving the other a once over, taking note of every over corrected aspect of his appearance.

The voice hero loitered around the room a bit as he waited for Aizawa to finish gathering his things, attempting to appear as if he weren't in a hurry to get the hell out of there.

Shouta let out a sigh and stepped towards him, balancing his stack of papers in his arms. "Hizashi, are you okay?"

Hizashi quickly waved his hands in front of him. "I'm fine! Fine! Just wondering; do you have to go back to the dorms tonight?" His tone a little too hopeful to just be wondering.

Shouta's eyes softened but he nodded. "No one else is available to cover for the weekend." He explains.

They stood in silence for a minute while Hizashi tried not to let his disappointment show. He hasn't gotten to spend substantial time with his husband in weeks and he desperately needed to recharge, both of them aware of the blonds need for affection to truly relax. And with the anxious buzz in his chest he could really use the other man's calming presence.

However, he didn't want to take away from Shouta's responsibilities, so he nodded and took a breath to tell the other not to worry about it.

"You could come with me. Logically, two adults would probably manage twenty rowdy children better than one." Aizawa offers before Hizashi can get the words out, and the blond almost collapses onto him in gratitude.

"Sounds like a plan, my man!" Mic belts while shooting finger guns.

Aizawa rolls his eyes fondly before walking out of the classroom and towards the dorms, his husband following close behind.

Aizawa debates with himself as they walk, Hizashi unusually silent. He can tell the other man is stressed, can sense his unease, but can't exactly think of what was wrong that he could help with. He doesn't want to pry, since clearly the dj is trying to hide his frazzled state. Still, he can't help if he doesn't know what to help with.

"Are you going to tell me what's wrong, now?" The erasure hero prods, tone bored.

Hizashi sighs heavily and walks so that their shoulders brush together. "Been a long week." He says simply.

Aizawa hums in acknowledgment, fully aware of the other's chaotic responsibilities recently. He glances towards the other to indicate that he should continue.

Hizashi sighs and wrangles with what he wants versus what he thinks Shouts would be comfortable with until he just settles for honesty.

"I just.. Need you to love me a little louder today." Normally just Shouta's presence was enough but Hizashi has been pulled in so many different directions lately. He's given his everything, he wants to be able to take for a bit.

Shouta gives a nod in understanding and adjusts the papers in his hold so that they only occupy one arm. He immediately laces his free hand with his husband's.

Hizashi smiles apologetically, knowing full well that Shouta isn't a fan of PDA, especially at school, but the only response he gets is the hand in his squeezing a bit tighter. He could already feel his shoulders relaxing. His feet feeling a little less like weights as they step up to the dorms.

When they enter the building, Hizashi moves to release the other man's hand, not wanting to push his discomfort. Shouta holds on tightly, even as they pass a few students not-so-subtley glancing at their interlocked fingers.

The blond felt his heart bubble with pride as the two entered Shouta's room. The door clicked shut behind them and the darker haired teacher sets his stack of papers down on a table. He pulls the blond towards a dresser and pulls out some sweatpants and an old T-shirt. He finally releases his husband's hand to pass the clothes over.

As soon as the clothes are out of his grasp, Shouta reaches up and pulls Hizashi's headphones off and places them on the dresser, then doing the same with his directional speaker.

"Get changed. I'll go get a towel and a spray bottle." He says softly. He presses a kiss to Hizashi's cheek as he leaves the room.

Hizashi smiles to himself as he does as he's told. The shirt actually used to be his, but now it was worn and soft, the band logo on the front almost unrecognizable. It hung loosely around him and smelled like Shouta. Hizashi could feel his nerves, after so many days of buzzing within him like static, finally calm some.

When Shouta returns he changes into some plain black pajamas. The voice hero reaches for the spray bottle to start working on his hair but the other man shoos him away, batting at Hizashi's hand with his head halfway in his shirt.

"I got it." The brunette grumbles and finishes changing. He then sits on the edge of his bed with the supplies.

Hizashi wraps the towel around his shoulders and drops to the floor, where his husband begins gently undoing his tower of hair.

Shouta's hands are slow and methodical. He's careful to not take too large a section and he's thorough as he rinses the gel and hair spray out of golden locks.

By the time his hair is hanging loosely around his shoulders, Hizashi is sagging forward tiredly as Shouta runs his fingers through damp hair. He can feel the tension leave him and his headache subside when calloused fingers massage his scalp.

He basks in the attention, practiced fingers moving on to his shoulders and neck to work the knots out. He hasn't even noticed his eyes have drifted shut until hands on the side of his face guide the blond head backwards to rest in the other hero's lap.

"I have to go check on the brats." Shouta kisses him softly before rising. "I'll be out there for a bit so you can tag along if you want."

Hizashi rises to follow and grabs Shouta's stack of upgraded papers and a pen on the way out.

When they walk down the hall towards the common area, he already feels lighter and happier. His smile coming naturally when he meets eyes with some of his students in passing.

Shouta leaves for the kitchen, mumbling something about coffee and food.

Hizashi glances around while he waits, catching eyes with a curious clusters of teens. He gives an awkward wave as he sits on the nearest couch. He places the papers on the coffee table in front of him.

There's prolonged silence and then-

"Mic-sensei, not to be rude but what are you doing here?" Kaminari asks from his huddle with Ashido, Bakugo, Sero and Kirishima.

A laugh bubbles past his lips at the blunt question. "Can't a guy just want a little company?" The teacher offers with a grin.

"Yeah but with Aizawa-sensei?" Sero blurts out. Bakugo grumbles something under his breath as he scrolls on his phone. Kirishima only looks mildly interested.

Hizashi turns sideways to face his students, back against the armrest of the couch and legs extended in front of him.

"Well sure, he's great company." Hizashi responds cooly.

"Really?" Kaminari questions. "Isn't he a little..."

-"Strict. "

-"Grumpy? "

-"Stoic!"

They all speak at once and the English teacher can't resist another chuckle at their descriptions. "I suppose he can be all of those things!" Hizashi confirms. "But I think you'd be surprised."

Ashido opens her mouth to respond but quickly shuts it as Aizawa reenters the room, holding two mugs and balancing a sandwich on top of one. He sets the supplies next to the stack of papers.

He doesn't spare a glance at the group of students who stare in shock as their homeroom teacher plops himself down in front of the other. He places himself between the others legs and turns so that he is leaning against the blond's chest casually. Instinctively, Mic wraps his arms around his waste and rests his chin on his husbands shoulder.

Aizawa reaches for the mug and sandwich, lifting the food towards the voice hero's mouth. Hizashi takes the food from his hand, humming happily because he finally has some sustenance. He feels his stomach grumble in appreciation.

With his now free hand, Aizawa grabs a paper off of the stack that rests on the table and begins grading as if his students aren't gaping at him.

Hizashi squeezes him closer, his heart jumping happily at how incredible his husband is. He loves that the reserved man is letting him be clingy like this. Loves how loved he feels when Shouta does this for him. He loves that Shouts loves him.

The entire room is silent for awhile as Shouta continues grading; the teens hesitant to comment in front of their strict teacher looking so... soft. And normal. It was like they were looking at a whole different person as Mic pressed a delighted kiss against his temple.

When the erasure hero placed his empty mug back onto the coffee table and reached up with his free hand to touch blond hair, Mina couldn't hold it in anymore.

"Aizawa-sensei!! "

Dark eyes shot up to meet hers with a glare. Never mind. It was definitely their teacher.

"Uhm! Are you and Mic-sensei boyfriends?!" She rushed out. Kirishima flinched at the question.

Mic even tensed up a bit, awaiting Shouta's response.

"No." He responded simply and went back to grading. He relaxes further against his husband as he feels the blond untense.

Mina spluttered in confusion, seemingly conflicted between her curiosity and her fear of expulsion. Finally, Bakugo piped up without looking up from his phone. "They're married, you idiots."

Hizashi beamed with pride to confirm the statement.

When three different students opened their mouth to comment, Aizawa interrupted. "If you continue to bug me about it, I'll expel you."

His stern tone was only slightly less intimidating than usual with Hizashi nuzzling into his neck.

----

"Thank you for tonight, baby. I know you don't like being all touchy in front of people, especially the kids." Hizashi mumbled into the quiet room.

They were in bed for the night, cuddled up, facing each other with legs tangled. Hizashi scratched lightly at Shouta's back, arms wrapped loosely around his middle as he responded.

"It's fine. They were gonna find out anyways and your well-being is more important than being professional after school hours." His arms tightened around the blonds shoulders, chin moving to rest atop a golden head. "Also, I kind of needed this too. I've missed you these last couple weeks."

Hizashi hummed and pressed a kiss to Shouta's neck. "I've missed you too, babe. We'll have to get the cats in here next, huh? "

The only response he received was an amused huff and a light smack on the shoulder.

Notes:

I figure Aizawa would overlook professionalism just a bit when his hubby is feeling down.
Any who, this was inspired by a tweet I saw about it being okay to ask for more love when you need it and all that.
