One thing the boys needed to learn, was that Namjoon was rarely wrong. When Yoongi showed up, Taehyung's reaction was anything but positive.
"No fucking way," Taehyung scoffed, staring at Yoongi with a look of pure anger and disgust,"you can't be that god damn stupid, can you?"
"I need to talk to him-"
"Fuck no, you don't," Taehyung snapped, "you don't get to talk to him."
"Please let me-"
"I said fuck no," the younger repeated, "you think he wants to hear you run your mouth again?"
"Taehyung, let me explain, ple-"
Yoongi cut himself off when he heard Jimin choke on a sob, sounding like he was trying to say something but couldn't. Jungkook immediately shushed him, lips resting against his temple in a long and hopefully comforting kiss. For a brief moment they met eyes, and Yoongi's heart shattered. Jimin, for the first time, looked like he didn't want anything to do with him. It was almost as if he was scared of him, and it sent Yoongi's heart into a pit in his stomach.
"You see that?" Taehyung hissed, seething with anger so hot Yoongi could almost feel it radiating from him, "no one fucking wants you here, get out."
"J-Jimin..."
"Doesn't want to see you," Taehyung's voice was rising in volume, "you've done enough damage already."
Yoongi was tongue tied, he couldn't defend himself, couldn't plead with Taehyung anymore, he was silent. He knew his words hit Jimin hard, but he didn't realize just how hard, and words couldn't express the level of self-hatred he had for himself in that moment.
"Unbelievable," Taehyung growled to himself and slammed the door shut without another word, leaving Yoongi standing speechless in the hall.
With shaking hands Yoongi pulled out his phone, bracing himself for the "I told you so."
"Yoon?"
"J-Joonie," Yoongi struggled to keep his voice level, "you were right...he didn't let me talk and, god, Namjoon I broke his heart."
"Relax. Do you need me to come get you?"
"No- maybe, if you can, I don't know what to do."
"I'll be there in a second, just breathe, okay?"
"He looked so distraught, what the fuck did I do?"
"You made a mistake, but it'll be okay," Namjoon's voice was strong and calming and Yoongi clung to it like a lifeline, "we'll figure it out."

The second Yoongi was out of his sight, Taehyung's anger melted away and his expression returned to one of genuine concern.
"Baby, are you okay?" He rushed back over to the couch, his voice softening into a gentle whisper as he approached Jimin.
"He...doesn't...doesn't love me," Jimin forced out, clinging to Jungkook like his life depended on it, "does he?"
"He does," Taehyung combed the boy's hair back, "he's an ass, but he does, I promise."
"No," Jimin whimpered, "I-I'm so annoying, he just- just feels bad for me."
"You're not annoying, Min," Taehyung spoke as soothingly as he could, "I promise."
"I am," Jimin shook his head, "all I do is whine and cry and-"
"And take care of us," Taehyung interrupted, "and make us laugh, make us smile."
"But-"
"No," Taehyung pulled Jimin against him, burying his face in his shoulder as he hugged him tight. "I know its hard to believe," he whispered, "but please try."
Taehyung was forcing himself to ignore the heartbreak he felt for Jimin, suppressing it so he could support Jimin. It absolutely broke him to see Jimin so distraught, to see the one person he relied on the most be so down on themselves. But no matter how often Jimin lost control and succumbed to his emotions, Taehyung vowed to himself he would always be there to bring him back. Jimin had done the same for him so many times- in some cases he had been the only person to give a damn about him. Taehyung couldn't imagine life without Jimin and his warm heart, so he wanted to do everything in his power to protect it. He would do everything in his power to protect, everything he could and more. They were each other's lifelines no matter what.
So Taehyung pulled Jimin closer against him, running his fingers through his hair rythmically, the way that Jimin found most reassuring. He whispered small phrases of encouragement to him, his voice low and gentle as he comforted the boy.
"Yoongi always understood," Jimin cried against the younger, "n-now he knows I'm not worth it."
"You are," Jungkook whispered from behind, rubbing small circles in Jimin's back. It hurt him to see Jimin like this too- he always knew Jimin as the caring older brother, the one who spoiled him rotten with all the attention and unneccessary gifts he could ever want. Jimin was the one who sat with him for three hours while Jungkook tried to sort out his sexuality and who he was, he was there when Jungkook's grades were falling so far behind he thought he might never get into college. Jimin had never been anything but supprotive and kind, and Jungkook didn't want to be any less. Jimin inspired him every day to be a little nicer, a little sweeter to everyone he met. Jimin didn't deserve to be so insecure, he deserved all the love in the whole world. Jungkook would be damned before he gave up on him, before he was anything less than the same way for Jimin.
"More than worth it," Taehyung agreed, gently rocking them back and forth.
Jimin didn't respond to that, he only cried harder. He was so torn up inside- half of him was beating himself up for being so dramatic, and the other was yelling and screaming at him that Yoongi was right. He was a crybaby who thrived off attention, who started an outburst because he couldn't handle the truth. There was hardly any rationale left in him, he couldn't filter out the unneccessary self-hatred, nor could he bring himself to focus on what Taehyung was saying. Sweet Taehyung, who was always there for him. He would always understand, would always help him. He didn't see any flaws in Jimin, he didn't push him away or treat him like him the nuisance he was. Jimin was forever grateful for him, but in the moment the feelings of appreciation were washed out by devestation. He thought Yoongi and Taehyung were one in the same- he thought Yoongi understood. He thought Yoongi knew what it was like to feel so down on yourself you just wanted to die, that you didn't want to burden anyone else with your existence. He thought Yoongi cared, he thought Yoongi wanted to make it better. But Yoongi was just the same as the monster lurking in the back of his mind- all too ready to point out his flaws.
The tears didn't stop, and Jimin thought they might never.
