Summary
Post-apocalyptic Japan is pretty different from pre-apocalyptic Japan, but for Shouto, life goes on much the same way: he tries to steer clear of his overbearing, violent, douchebag dad; he looks for any hints as to where his older brother, Touya, disappeared to; he reads shitty romance novels and pretends depression hasn't ruined his life. When he gets kicked out of the community his father built, though, his entire life changes.
For the first time in his life, Shouto doesn't have his father breathing down his neck; but he might not live long enough to enjoy it. The wasteland outside of the community is dangerous and wild. Unsure of what to do, he finds himself traveling with a cheerful stranger named Hanta, who is returning to his own family of sorts. The two must learn to trust each other and fight to protect one another from the perils of the wasteland.
If Shouto's lucky, he'll find a real family of his own.
