"My mouth's cold.”
Looking over at Kara, who was finishing the last of her ice cream, huffing as she puts the empty bowl on the coffee table, Lena can't help put be entertained by her girlfriends antics.
"Darling, you quite literally have freeze breath," She teases.
Watching Kara's lips form to make a pout, never fails to make Lena's heart rate speed up just the slightest, but she's getting better at learning how to resist the deadly combination of her pout and puppy dog eyes (no she wasn't).
Seeing that Kara wasn't going to let up her pout anytime soon, Lena raised an eyebrow at her.
"Would you like me to warm it up for you?"
Kara raises both eyebrows at the suggestion, Lena raising one of her own in return before throwing a wink in for good measure.
"I would like that very much."
Leaning forward ever so slightly, Lena doesn't miss the way Kara's eyes fly to her lips.
Smirking to herself, Lena gets up from the couch and makes her way to the kitchen without another word, leaving Kara sitting there with a dumbfounded expression on her face.
Peaking over her shoulder every now and then, she can't help but stifle her laughter at the look of Kara looking confused, like she couldn't believe what had just happened.
"Here you go, darling," She says once she was finally done, holding out a mug filled with steaming liquid.
She watches Kara sit up to take a peak at what was in the cup, blue eyes looking intently into hers as she takes the mug from Lena's hands.
“Is this…hot chocolate?"
It was taking every ounce of self-control that Lena had to stop herself from grabbing her phone and taking a picture of Kara's baffled expression.
"What else would it be?" She feigns innocence, "you said you mouth was cold and this will warm you up. That is what you meant, right?"
Internally smirking to herself at the rosy blush that making its way to Kara's cheeks, she watched her take a sip. It was always fun to make the taller girl blush, considering it was always Lena who became a blushing mess around Kara.
(If you asked any of the Superfriends however, they would tell you that both of them blushed as much as the other.)
But still, she was enjoying every second teasing Kara. She knew what she wanted, but she wasn't going to give it to her that easily.
"Yep, hot chocolate. Definitely what I meant."
"Mmhm," Lena hums, taking the mug from Kara's hands and setting it down next to the empty bowl.
Feeling extra courageous, she climbs up on Kara's lap, knees on either side of Kara's legs as she sat down on her thighs.
"What are you doing?"
Even though the Kara was questioning her, her hands were already resting on Lena's waist, staring up at her as she shifted so Lena could comfortably perch herself on her lap.
Ignoring her girlfriend, Lena cupped Kara's jaw in her hands, thumbs caressing her cheeks as she leaned closer to close the space between them.
With her lips pressed against Kara's, Lena can taste the hot chocolate she had taken a sip of before. It only took a second for Kara to kiss her back, soft and slow, like they had all the time in the world. There was a wave of warmth that came over Lena whenever Kara kissed her, saturating Lena with what she could only describe as love.
Pulling away from her girlfriend (because even though Kara can hold her breath for long stretches of time, she was still very much human), she smiled at the astounded look on her face.
"You could've just asked for a kiss, baby."
