It wasn’t real. There had been a mistake. And once Johnny had driven him home and he had cooked up a thousand packets of ramen for all eighteen of them to enjoy, he would call up the doctor and tell him how bad an error he had made. It wasn’t real.
“So it’s not serious?” Johnny asked, hope creeping into his tone and giving his eyes that same spark that made him who he was.
“It’s just a migraine.”
