Neito had been minding his own business when Tetsu entered the apartment, in quite an apparent rush, as he put down a plastic bag on the coffee table in front of him. Leaning over, Neito grabbed his coffee mug and put it towards his lips, not saying anything but smiling as he did so.
“Aren't you gonna ask what it is?” Tetsu asked after Neito had put his coffee back down..
“I’m pretty sure that’s a plastic bag, Tetsu,” he responded to his boyfriend’s question with a wry smile. Tetsu, though, didn't seem to find it as funny, eliciting a load groan.
“I mean what's inside the bag, you big goof,” going around the coffee table, Tetsu sat next to Neito, making himself comfortable despite still having his coat on, wet from the rain outside. “Come on, have a look inside. I think you'll like it a lot.”
“What could possibly be so exciting?” Neito said doubtfully, but despite that he leaned forwards to check in the bag anyways. He widened his eyes when he saw just exactly what it was.
“Congratulations!” Tetsu seemed to radiate with cheer, smiling as wide as he could. “You got your first line of hero merch in stores!”
Taking out a small keychain which had a model of one of the clocks he had in his hero outfit, Neito couldn't help but examine it in fascination. “H-how? I never got any offers for liscensing, so how?” His question had been hypothetical, one that he didn't really need an answer to, however Tetsu provided one anyways.
“Well, about that-” now his boyfriend's smile turned into an embarrassed one, as he rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. “You see I sort of accepted it for you?”
“You what,” Neito didn't know wether to be ad or angry, because he knew he wouldn't have accepted it at this point in his career.
“I wanted it to be a surprise!” Tetsu huffed, folding his arms, looking almost upset for a moment before his features softened. “Do you like it, at least?”
“Tetsu, I love this and I love you even more,” Neito smirked, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend's large chest and pulling him in closer for a kiss on the forehead. Although Tetsu could probably benchpress him with ease, he always let Neito pull him into kisses like this. It was cute, how he was always as soft as a button when it came romance.
“C'mon, now,” Tetsu gave a laugh as he peppered him with kisses on his forehead and nose, his large eyebrows brushing slightly with Neito's skin, but he didn't mind. After all, they were rather soft things, kind of like a cat's tail. “Check the other stuff in the bag before you kiss me more.”
Neito reluctantly let Tetsu go, before picking up the bag and placing it on his shoulder, carefully taking everything out of it. There were keychains, but also buttons, ribbons, and a clip on tie. The most extravagant thing was a small figure of himself with childlike proportions which could be manipulated into a variety of poses. It was pretty adorable, and apparently it was a recent trend for heroes to get these sorts of figures - they had been apparently making them for anime characters and such until very recently.
“You know, for a hero like me, this is- really impressive. How'd you manage to get them to do all this stuff, Tetsu?” Neito looked to his side, and his boyfriend was giving another rather nervous smile.
“Alright, so,” Tetsu began with, and Neito immediately his eyebrows furrow, “When the merch company contacted me, well - they sort of did that for a reason. They wanted to make merch for me.”
Neito blinked for a moment, gears in his brain whirring at lightning speeds as his boyfriend spoke, putting the words together into meaning. “You convinced them to make merch for me instead? But why?”
“I'll be honest, I don't really know why. It was just sort of on a whim,” Tetsu gave a casual shrug, as if it was no big deal, but Neito noticed his eyes shifting to the side to look at him, as if trying to gage his reaction. “Sorry if you didn't want that, though.”
“How could I not love this?” Neito looked at his boyfriend for a moment, before once again pulling him in a tight hug, leaning down on the couch in order to have Tetsu laying on top of him. “Tetsu, this is the best gift you could have ever given to me. Simply the idea that I've gotten merchandise! Me! It makes me absolutely ecstatic.”
“Neito...” Tetsu murmured, not even saying anything after that just staring at him and he stared back. Neito could see a quiet blush creeping on his taller boyfriend's face, quickly spreading from his ears to his nose.
“Next time, though - don't give up an opportunity like that on me, alright? I'm serious about that,” leaning forwards, he kissed Tetsu on the nose lightly. “These are serious opportunities, you know?”
“Yeah, yeah,” Tetsu seemed to speak as if he already knew what Neito had told him. “But I wanted to do this for you.” Tetsu reciprocated the kiss by nuzzling his forehead, being as pushy in his cuddling like always.
“Don't get me wrong, though - I love it. I really do,” Neito smirked, before realizing Tetsu still had his raincoat on. Looking between it and Tetsu, his boyfriend seemed to realize something, his eyes glimmering.
“Right! There's one last piece of merch - which I'm wearing under this,” Tetsu got up, and turned around so Neito could only see his back.
“Oh?” Neito asked, bemused. He wondered what Tetsu could be wearing under there. Maybe a life-like copy of his hero outfit? That'd be fun, but also a bit in practical to the common consumer, who likely didn't want to put on a full suit whenever they wanted to rep out their favourite heroes.
Taking his coat off and turning around, Neito could see Tetsu was wearing a sweatshirt that clung tightly to his chest, but not to an uncomfortable looking degree, which seemed to be a rather accurate model of his own costumes top, minus the sleeves. “Ta-da!” Tetsu looked at him wide wide eyes and a wider smile, flexing his muscles slightly for Neito to see.
Neito, obviously, couldn't help blushing, even though this wasn't the first time he'd seen his boyfriend flexing. Yet, there was something about his excited attitude which was so adorable Neito couldn't help but feel like he deserved a thousand kisses, a thousand 'I love yous’, and several soliloquies declaring his love.
“Wow,” was all that Neito could say. “You look...nice.”
“Thanks!” Tetsu practically beamed, placing his hands on his hips. “Maybe once I get merch, you can wear some of mine! It'd be, like, a couple outfit.”
“Maybe so,” Neito laughed, trying to imagine himself in some sort of 'Real Steal’ tank top next to his much larger boyfriend. “Before that, though, I want to shower you in even more kisses, so come over here.”
Tetsu didn't hesitate to return to his spot next to Neito, nor did he stop Neito from wrapping his arms around him again and pushing him down on to his back, so Neito could kiss his boyfriend all over his face and lips.
“I love you so fucking much, man,” Tetsu whispered in his ear after a while.
“Well,” Neito smiled teasingly, “I love you more.”
“Neito, we are not doing this again,” Tetsu practically groaned, a hand going to his foregead as his head relaxed onto the couch.
“But I love you the mosterest of them all,” Neito continued smiling down at his boyfriend, who returned the smile with a hoarse laugh.
“Just shut up and kiss me more, please,” Tetsu said after he stopped chuckling - a request Neito gladly carried out with much enthusiasm.
