Chapter Text
The sound of distant fire is what V hears first when he regains his consciousness.
He opens his eyes slowly, wincing at the sharp pain at his head.

For a moment he had forgotten where he was, what he was doing..
but it all comes back to him as soon as he sees Jin's figure at the distance.
forgetting his pain, he moves up, desperately trying to reach Jin as fast as possible.

Jin is closer to wrecked car, the destroyed remains of the their space ship. Too close to the signs of their crash and fire.
he is hunched over another human body
even from the distance, V can see that something is wrong with the person lying on the ground.
but nothing can prepare him for surprise that awaits him when he reaches Jin.
lying on the grass, soaked in blood and lifeless...
is another JIN.
V's breathing stops, the gasp that was waiting to come out his mouth dies there in his throat.
"He is dead" Jin says, barely in a whispers, as if all his strength has left his body.
V gulps down the lump that is forming in his throat, the consequence of their actions becomes clear now.
No, NO, NOO..
this can't be happening, this just can't!! not now, please, please, please.
V can hear the sirens, too high pitched for normal human ears, but the soundpod installed in his ear can pick it up without a problem, he can feel the Inter-galactic police arriving at the very moment.
the reality of the situation they are in hits him hard. For once in life, V does not know what to do.
"Its alright" Jin says to him, finally looking V in his eyes. "I will take care of it" he says with a smile.
The lump in V's throat only grows, he thinks Jin wouldn't dare to do what V guesses.
but the smile on Jin's lips is all but telling, deep in heart,V knows, knows what Jin is about to do.
And V, the ever fearless leader of the rebellion, feels a fear like never before.
