The Eventful Life of (M/n) (L/n)

Summary:

My name is (M/n) (L/n). I'm an ordinary sixteen year-old-boy who's moved from country to country since I was younger. This time, I've moved to Japan.

And I love it here! It's so bright and colorful, and everyone seems to know each other and get along very well. I'd really love to stay here!

Unfortunately, someone's close to figuring out my secret. If I don't do something about it soon, it's over for me.

I'll do everything in my power to make sure that doesn't happen.

I have to...

I don't have a choice.

Chapter Text

My name is (M/n) (L/n).

I'm an ordinary eighteen-year-old boy who's traveled all over the world. Unfortunately, I was never able to enjoy it because I'm constantly on the move.

I have so many stories to tell you, but we only have room for one, and we don't have enough time to tell it all in one sitting.

Let's see...

Ah! Let's talk about I arrived in Japan two years ago! That one's really exciting! I promise you, you're all going to have a great time!

...

This wasn't initially part of the plan, but time isn't a luxury I can afford.

Let's get to it, shall we?

I've just gotten off the plane with my luggage. I didn't have very much on me, so I didn't have to worry about losing anything.

Asking for directions wasn't a huge challenge, though it did take me a few tries just to get a taxi since I'm so ordinary.

I paid the driver before wishing him a good morning.

Wishing workers a great life is something I like to do because I know they're a hard worker and I appreciate everything they do. They don't get nearly as much appreciation as they should.

If you can't tell, I don't like taking things for granted. It's because I'm so grateful that I'm afraid we won't appreciate anything until it's gone. That's the worst case scenario for me.

I'm sure you don't want to hear me blabbering about nonsense any longer, so let's move on to the exciting part.

I moved into my home, which I found out was very cozy.

My favorite type of home.

But sometimes having a cozy home makes me feel lonely. It's not because my family abandoned me or anything! They just aren't able to keep up with me, so they stayed in America. I didn't expect that country to be their permanent home, but nothing I can do about it now.

"Hey, buddy #2!"

Oh, this is where I met my friends!

"Where are you going? Come back!"

R-Right... I forgot to mention this...

"Wait up, buddy #2!"

I wasn't the best at making friends.

"Buddy #2! Wait up!"

'Stop calling me that!'

My pace got slower and slower until I stopped completely when I heard the voice get louder behind me. I hear footsteps slowing to a stop and stopped right behind me. I tried to ignore him by just looking ahead, pretending to be lost in thought.

"Heeeyyyy, buddy #2! Can you hear me? Hello!?"

"Nendou, he won't want to be our friend if you keep yelling in his ear!"

"I don't think he can hear me." Finally having enough, I turned my head and looked behind me, giving the owner of the voices my irritated glare.

'Did the short guy just pee his pants?'

"I'm Nendou. This is my buddy. And this is the runt."

"I'm not a runt! I am the Jet-Black Wings. But I go by Kaidou Shun cause I don't want the Dark Reunion to find me."

I cautiously stepped away from Kaidou.

'Yeaaahhhhh no.'

I looked at all three boys in front of me who seem to be around my age. The tall one seems creepy, but he's just an idiot from what I can tell. The short guy is a coward with a hero complex.

I shouldn't be calling him a coward, but I know I'm not wrong. I've always been a good judge of character.  And the guy in the middle with pink hair. This guy must be completely ordinary if it took me this long to notice he was there. Well, he hasn't said a word at all so that's kind of his fault.

Then again, I'm ordinary too.

"Tch."

Yup, that's how I replied. I told you I wasn't the best at making friends.

It's what I used to do all the time whenever I unwillingly talked to strangers. I tend to give people the cold shoulder, which was why I didn't have a lot of friends.

'Did the short guy just pee his pants again? Must have a weak bladder.'

"Hey, buddy #2. You better apologize to the runt for making him pee his pants right now."

What took me by surprise was that tall guy's creepy face right in front of me. I shivered involuntarily but stood my ground.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention this too. Ehehe...

I flipped him over my shoulder and got into a defensive stance. I heard him release a loud yelp after he landed harshly on the concrete.

My reflexes kick in when I feel threatened...

"O-Ofu..."

'I incapacitated your friend! What's so amazing about that!?'

I run away from the three boys before I could do anything else that might possibly make them hate me even more than they already do. I stop for a moment to catch my breath and made sure I lost them. Relieved that not a single soul was in sight, I continued in... whatever direction I was heading.

Oh boy...

"Hey." The boy with glasses from earlier suddenly appeared from around the corner.

"How'd you get here before me?"

"Wanted to get away from those two."

"I know how that feels," I muttered to myself.

"I'm Saiki Kusuo."

I bit my lip, "(M/n) (L/n)."

"You're not Japanese."

"How'd you figure that out?" I finish speaking before I walk right past this Saiki person. He walks right by me also, already having one thing in common.

We make each other uncomfortable.

"Your accent is different and you're dressed too heavily for this weather."

I look down at my clothes and right on cue, the heat starts to make me sweat a little. I had just arrived from Siberia. I probably hadn't gotten used to the weather here yet.

"You're right. But I thought my name would be a dead giveaway."

"You still could've been Japanese."

"True," I lift my wrist so I could check the time and smile at how much time I left over. I look back at the other boy and waved.

"I'll see you around."

"I can show you around."

"You don't have to-"

"I insist."

I blink in surprise, but that didn't stop me from nodding my head and start asking him about his neighborhood.

'He doesn't seem like the type to spend time with people willingly. I wonder why he insists on spending time with me.'

My instincts started driving me crazy, meaning that someone is watching us. I keep my composure and keep walking on the sidewalks with Saiki, pretending I was oblivious to whoever was following us.

'Is this why he asked to give me a tour?'

I leave that thought alone for another day, just happy to be getting directions from a local resident who isn't a complete weirdo. It was also nice having someone keep me company in a foreign country for once.

Man, I remember being such a huge mess back then. Wait, it's only been two years. I don't know why I'm talking like an old man.

[Aside] How does he do this...?
