“Look,” says the guy standing next to a trash can that is on fire, “it’s not what it looks like.”
They’re in the women’s bathroom. There’s no windows. It’s just the two of them, awkwardly eyeing one another, each panicked for very different reasons.
Mermista looks at him, and then back at the flaming trash can, and then to the fire alarm, which is going to go off any second now, unless he puts it out, and then to the boy, who is desperately trying to smother it with – dry paper towels? – and raises an eyebrow. “Okay,” she drawls, “what does this look like?”

Soulmate! Modern au Mermista/Seahawk. Love the depiction and characterization of the characters/relationship!! Really manages to capture their dynamic in the show. And the premise is hilarious and the one shot very cute!!
