Safe And Sound

Summary:

Erasermic week, Day 7 : Quiet

Being heroes was tough work, always running around saving people from others. On top of that, dealing with a class of twenty students was even more tiring. So, sometimes, Aizawa just liked to sit in his apartment in silence for a while.

Work Text:

Peace and quiet.

That was all Aizawa wanted. But between doing hero work more nights than not, and being the homeroom teacher for class 1-A, it was rather hard to get it. So, on one of the rare Sundays that he didn't have patrol, he let himself sleep in. Or rather, Hizashi let him sleep in. The blond knew that he'd been waiting for today all week, and had no intentions of ruining it for him.

As such, the raven haired hero woke up alone in his bed, with a note on the other pillow. “Got an interview and then afternoon patrol, but I'll be back by dinner. Breakfast (or lunch, depending on when you get up) is in the fridge, you just need to heat it up. Love you, Sho” followed by a little heart and Hizashi's signature. It made Aizawa smile to himself, laying there reading it a few times over before finally getting up.

The analog clock on the nightstand read just past one o'clock and the erasure hero sighed. Haruki was probably starving by now. Getting up and slipping on a new shirt, Aizawa went out to the living room. As soon as he stepped foot into the room, his legs were practically assaulted by the gray cat meowing up at him hungrily. “Alright, Haru, alright. I hear you. But you have to move in order for me to actually feed you.” He said, reaching up and wiping the sleep from his eyes.

Of course the gray fluff ball didn't listen, continuing to wind around his legs and meow at him. Sighing, the raven reached down and picked up the cat before making his way to the kitchen. He set the beast down on the counter, where he continued to yell for food. So, Aizawa grabbed the container, filling up Haruki's dish more than he probably should have, and nudged it with his toe a little. “There, you needy bastard.” He muttered, glad that the cat was no longer yelling at him.

Haruki reminded him of Hizashi in that way, always trying to get your attention in the loudest way possible. Whether that be yelling, or knocking things to the ground, as long as it got your attention, the gray cat was happy.

Aizawa gave another sigh, opening the fridge and peering inside. There was a plate on the middle shelf, full to almost bursting with eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, and hash browns. It brought a smile to the raven's face as he took the plate to the microwave. He knew it wouldn't taste as good reheated like this, but it would still taste fine. Pressing the button for one minute, the erasure hero turned to lean back against the counter. He watched Haruki eat, occasionally stopping to clean his paws or ears before continuing.

When his meal was finally done heating up, the raven grabbed a fork and took his plate to the couch. Usually, Hizashi resented eating on the furniture, insisting they sat at the table and eat there, but he wasn't here right now and Aizawa personally didn't give two shits. Instead, he turned on the TV an ate his meal. There was some stupid reality show on right now, but the raven haired hero really wasn't paying attention. Haruki came over when he was about half done, just sitting there and staring at him as he ate.

“What, do you want something?” Aizawa asked the feline, getting a meow in return. “You just ate. Do you want to get fat?” He responded, once again getting another meow. He rolled his eyes, feeling a smile forming despite himself. “Alright, alright. You can have one piece.” He cut a small piece out of one of his sausages, handing it to the cat. “There. Now go on, get.” Haruki seemed more than happy to do so, taking his treat over to his cat tower before setting it down and eating it slowly.

The erasure hero continued eating after that, finishing his plate just before a commercial break. “Great, I won't miss anything.” He said dryly, taking his plate to the sink and quickly cleaning it off and putting it away. Heading back to his spot on the couch, the raven laid down, changing the channel to something that wasn't ridiculously over acted. After some searching, he ended up on some cooking channel that he wouldn't mind watching and settled in.

Apparently, Aizawa either seriously zoned out watching the cooking shows or fell asleep at some point, because the next thing he knew he could hear the sound of Hizashi's keys as the door opened. The raven glanced at his phone, seeing that it was now almost six o'clock. Just under five hours wasted on TV shows he wasn't even paying attention to, but he was surprisingly okay with that.

“Hey baby. How was your day?” Hizashi asked, sitting besides Aizawa and opening his arms in an invitation. The erasure hero took it, shifting to lay his head in his husband's lap. “I hope you didn't spend it all sleeping.” The blond teased then, reaching up to run his fingers through the raven locks on top of Aizawa's head.

The erasure hero gave a little chuckle, snuggling closer. “No, I don't think I did. Just kinda zoned out watching...” He paused, looking at the TV. “Whatever this cooking show is.” Hizashi gave a little laugh, laying back and lazily petting the raven. “How about you? How was your day, Zashi?”

“It was alright. The interview ran a little longer than expected, and there were a few villains that put up a fight, but I'm not injured so that's a plus.” The blond told Aizawa, knowing that his patrol would be the main thing he was worried about. Either way, the raven haired hero was just glad that Hizashi was home safe and sound.

Aizawa was already slipping into sleep as the voice hero pet his hair, letting his eyes slip closed. “Mmm, that's good.” He murmured, not even sure himself what he was referring to. In any case, he was more than content to lay right there until he fell asleep and Hizashi had to carry him to bed.

So, that's what he did.
