Night Out

Summary:

A look into the Min's life with a teenaged Yeri!

Notes:

I should have clarified this when I wrote the last few things pertaining to this fic series. When Yoongi and Hoseok married, Hoseok took Yoongi's last name. just wanted to put that out there since I kept forgetting to put in that information. now, this part of the series shows Yeri at sixteen and she's a little bit of a brat. I might do more teenage Yeri, we'll see. but for now this idea was given to me from EmmyxTag, I hope you enjoy it and I did it justice. Enjoy reading!!

also, their's links in this one as well hit the link that's underlined on Yeri and get a peek of what she looks like as a teen!!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Yoongi was tired, he was so tired that all he wanted to do was close his laptop and take a two-hour nap. But he can’t, he’s on such a tight deadline that if he doesn’t get this first draft done by the next two days, he’s going to be in some trouble with his publisher, since he’s been having some trouble with the last two stories he’s written because they were on a family trip and he’d taken a long-needed break, but of course, he forgot that he had a very important novel in his documents that was supposed to be sent before he went on his trip, literally ignored his emails and phone until he got home and found a very angry message from his manager about the whole ordeal, now he’s being rushed to write two novels at the same time basically. Fixing mistakes in one and writing a whole new plot on the other.

Now here he is, rushing, exhausted and very much thinking about changing publishers if they’re going to push him this much. He’s honestly pissed off and using it to fuel his need to finish these damn novels that weren’t supposed to be done till months later, but now there’s a rush… Oh, Yoongi is so pissed.

A knock on his office door jars him out of his focus. He looks up to see his eight-year-old son Hakkun peeking in the crack at the door.

“Whatcha need?”

“Yeri is going to talk to you about something and I’m here to warn you that what she’s going to tell you is a lie.”

Yoongi raises a brow, taking off his glasses and runs a hand through his black hair. He beckons his son into the room, smiling a little as Hakkun skips over.

Hakkun is Hoseok and Yoongi’s little miracle, they had wanted a baby which wasn’t the easiest option. They had the biggest debate whether they wanted to adopt or surrogacy. Surrogacy won out and then that was a tough find.

But once they found a woman that was willing to help two gay married men that already have a daughter, it took off a little easier. Thanks to Hoseok’s cousin that lives in South Korea and literally flew here just to help, Hakkun is the perfect mix of Yoongi and Hoseok.

He has Hoseok’s bright smile, eyes and wild hair that never wants to be tamed, he’s also scared of bugs and heights like Hoseok (getting Hakkun on a plan for a trip one time was pure hell)

But he’s got Yoongi’s defiant nature, stubborn and calm in ways Yeri isn’t. Yoongi told Hoseok one time when he watched the kids playing together. ‘Isn’t it funny how even though Hakkun is both of ours, Yeri is more like you.’ Hoseok had choked on his tea, laughing.

It’s true, Yeri is hyper, talks nonstop and jumps off walls like Hoseok and Hakkun would rather sit with Yoongi and read a book. He’s definitely a bookworm.

Adjusting Hakkun’s glasses, he tilts his head and raises a brow. “What have I told you about listening to your sister's conversations?”

“Not too, but I wasn’t this time, I was walking down to the kitchen and I heard her talking to Kacey.” Hakkun fiddles with the hem of his shirt, a nervous tick.

“Alright, I’ll talk to your sister. I know you’re just looking out for her, but you need to leave your sisters business alone just like she leaves your’s alone.” Yoongi sighs, glancing at his computer. “Now, go play, I have to finish this.”

Hakkun nods but doesn’t move.

“What Kun?”

“Can we go to the space museum this weekend? They have a new exhibit about the planets and a thing where it shows all the constellations in a theater. I really want to go.”

Yoongi looks up at the ceiling like he’s thinking. He’d already known about the space museum and was waiting for Hakkun to come ask him. “I don’t see why not.”

Hakkun’s smile lights up his face, clapping his hands. “Awesome, thank you appa!”

“Of course, now go play.”

He watches Hakkun run off and looks back at the laptop with so much disdain he wonders if he should go on hiatus. He might need to talk to Hoseok and his manager about it. He’s starting to feel a little run down.

Sliding his glasses back on, he gets ready to go back to hell (writing) but before he can fully get his mind back to the story he gets another knock on his door and mentally prepares for war as he tells Yeri to come in.

Yeri enters, her dark hair braided back out of her eyes, she has her infamous frown (thanks to him, she likes to say) on her face and her eyes narrowed in determination.

“Before you say anything, the answer is no. it’s a school night and I know you haven’t finished that essay you need to turn in on Monday.” Yoongi watches her face go through three different emotions before settling on pissed.

“I’m just going over to Kacey’s, I’ll do the essay over there, we have to study anyway.” Yeri crosses her arms, her pout on full display. He snorts, knowing it only works on Taehyung.

“Yeri, I said no. and don’t go to Hoseok and ask him, because then you’re just going to start a fight between the two of us and I hope you don’t want that.” Yoongi tilts his head, giving her a look. The last time Yoongi said no, she had gone to Hoseok who said yes and it was a fucking nightmare until they both figured out that Yeri played them since she lied to Hoseok about what she was originally going to do.

She was grounded for two weeks and her phone taken away. She learned her lesson for those two weeks.

“No, I don’t. But I don’t see why you won’t let me, it’s just across the street.”

Yoongi stays silent, raising a brow.

“Ugh, fine. I don’t know why you have to be so difficult.” Yeri glares, stomping her foot.

“Yeri Louise, I wouldn’t press your luck with me, now lose the attitude and accept my answer, because it isn’t going to change.” Yoongi hates hardening his voice to his kids, but Yeri has been getting a little out of control recently, which honestly terrifies him.

He can handle her partying in college as long as her grades stay good, hell, she’ll be the legal age and he won’t have any say anymore, but she’s only sixteen, the age when Kagome started to get out of control. He’s always had the fear in the back of his head. That Yeri could somehow turn out like Kagome.

Seeing her right now in front of him, the way she’s being disrespectful scares him, it must show on his face because she loses her glare, her expression becoming concerned.

“What?”

“You do know I love you, Yeri?”

Yeri blinks, before looking at the ground, picking at her flaking nail polish. “Yes, appa. I know. I’m sorry.”

Yoongi nods, messing with his glasses. “I hate having to tell you and Hakkun no, I don’t like getting into fights with you or the thought of letting you down, but I say no because whether you think it or not, I know better than you Yeri. You know my life was complete shit before you came into the world. I say no to keep you safe and because if anything ever happened to you or Hakkun, I would literally go insane. Do you understand?”

Yeri nods, frowning at the floor. “Yes, I’m going to go finish that essay and tell Kacey I can’t come over.”

Yoongi lets her go, sighing at the laptop. Rubbing his eyes he gets back to work, sliding on his glasses.

It’s around six when he hears his door open to Hoseok coming through, a rag over his shoulder.

“Dinner’s ready, love.”

Yoongi nods but doesn’t stop typing until Hoseok lays a hand on his fingers. “Dinner, Yoon. then you can come back to work.”

Sighing, Yoongi nods letting Hoseok lead him downstairs. Yeri and Hakkun are at the dinner table, already eating, Yoongi sits down next to his son. Looking down at his plate, he’s trying to decide if he’s seeing two steaks or just one.

“Babe?”

He squints at Hoseok. “Hmm?”

“Eat, then sleep, you can finish that novel tomorrow. You’re running yourself ragged.” Hoseok starts to cut his steak, something Yoongi is very grateful for since he feels like his arms and fingers are jelly.

“Yeah, I think I’ll do that. How was everyone’s day?” Yoongi half listens as he eats, feeling his eyes getting heavier and heavier until he startles himself as the fork slips out of his hand.

“Okay, I think your done. Come on, baby, let’s get you to bed. Say, goodnight kids.” Hoseok helps Yoongi out of the chair and up the stairs, the kids ringing out goodnights.

Once they get in their room, Hoseok strips Yoongi till he’s in his boxers and tucks him in, pushing the hair from his husband’s forehead. “You need to stop pushing yourself.”

Huffing out a laugh, Yoongi rubs at Hoseok’s right forearm, where the other infinity tattoo lies, the exact same as the other except it's red and black and it says Starshine on it. For Hakkun.

“I’m going to, I just need to finish these and then I’m taking a very long break. I’m so tired.” Yoongi whines, stuffing his face in the pillow. “Oh, if Yeri asks, she’s not allowed to go over to Kacey’s.”

“Okay, sleep Yoon.”

Like Hoseok’s voice is magic, Yoongi drops right to sleep.

“Bedtime Hakkun, you can watch that more tomorrow.” Hoseok comes into the room, watching Hakkun turn off the tv and trot up the stairs.

After he brushes his teeth, Hakkun jumps into bed snuggling under the covers.

“Night, Starshine, love you.” Hoseok pecks the top of Hakkun’s dark hair, ruffling it with his hand.

“Night dad, love you too. Tell appa I said goodnight.” Hakkun yawns, shuffling to get comfortable.

“I will.” Chuckling he makes sure Hakkun is tucked in, he turns off the lights, closing the door and walking to Yeri’s room.

He knocks, not hearing anything so he cracks the door open to see Yeri already asleep, burrowed under the covers, her hair popping out from the covers. He softly shuts the door, going to his room, wanting to snuggle up to Yoongi and drift to sleep.

Yeri watches her door close, waits a few more minutes before getting out of bed, fixing her hair in the mirror making sure her outfit isn’t rumpled to much, which consist of black distressed jean shorts, fishnets under, a black simple crop top with a see-through over it, her combat boots and a leather jacket. She finished with some dark lipstick and a few bracelets.

“Not too shabby.” She gives herself an eyebrow raise and smirk, knowing she looks pretty hot if she does say so herself. She hears a pebble strike her window and grins. She pets Holly on the head, pecking a quick kiss on his fluffy brown head.

She looks at her door, a flash of guilt hitting her but she stuffs it down, she was invited to this party by her boyfriend Devon and she was not going to miss out on spending time with him since their relationship is pretty much secret, since his parents are homophobes. But Devon doesn’t care that she has two dads. She feels pretty lucky.

Opening her window, she climbs down her makeshift ladder which is basically just a bunch of her shirts tied together. She’s going to be doing a lot of laundry but this night would be so worth it.

She sees Kacey parked with her light off and runs jumping in the front seat.

“Are you excited?” Yeri asks, looking to see Kacey has her blonde hair trailing down her back in waves, wearing ripped jeans and a flowy blouse, her blue eyes shine as she smiles. “Oh hell yeah, though… just promise me you won’t leave my side.”

“I promise, now hit that gas, bitch. We are going to party!”

Kacey laughs, shaking her head, putting the car in drive and shoots off.

They come to the party, held at Devon’s mansion, cars, and people fill the place, Kacey parking a distance away. “I don’t want drunk teens pissing or vomiting by my car.”

Yeri snorts, rolling her eyes. She gets out, waiting for Kacey before linking their arms together and striding toward the house. Once they enter, Yeri notices it’s filled with mostly seniors with some juniors and sophomores sprinkled in.

“Hey, I see Josh. let’s go talk to him.” Kacey tugs on Yeri’s arm, leading her to their friend Josh, who seems very out of place by the drinks.

“Hey, I thought you guys bailed on me.” Josh hands Yeri and Kacey a red solo cup, sipping on his, his green eyes search the room, always calculating.

“Nah, Yeri just took forever to get out of her house.” Kacey knocked back her drink, not ignorant of alcohol. Yeri sips at hers, wrinkling her nose. ‘Jeez, why did appa get addicted to this, it’s disgusting’ she thinks but takes another sip anyway.

“So, have you seen Devon?” Yeri asks, but before any of them can answer an arm wraps around her waist, causing her to laugh.

“Looking for me, Ri?” Devon gives her a wicked grin, Yeri nodding.

“I was hoping you wouldn’t forget about me.” Yeri pouts, silently thanking her appa for this specific feature that always works on her uncle Taehyung and knows her appa’s works on Hobi all the time.

“I could never forget that cute face of yours, wanna dance?”

Yeri nods, chugs her drink before setting it down and taking Devon’s hand, she glances back to see Kacey and Josh in conversation, but Kacey gives her a thumbs up.

They dance, drink and dance some more, Yeri barely feeling drunk at all. She snorts to herself, must have her father’s tolerance. She downs a shot, giggling as Devon nuzzles her neck.

Yeri turns, fluttering her lashes. “You going to kiss me or just stand there?”

She watches Devon smile, before leaning in and connecting his lips with hers. She smirks before getting into it, not caring they're in the middle of the room with eyes on them.

She enjoys kissing, has never taken it further and she really loves the way Devon kisses. She runs her hands through brown hair but freezes when she feels a hand on her thigh. She grabs Devon’s hand and pulls away.

“I don’t think so, hon. You have to earn to be welcome into this temple.” Yeri glares, seeing him back off a bit.

“Oh come on, I can make your night perfect.” Devon comes closer again but Yeri puts a hand on his chest, stilling his movement.

“Nope.”

Pausing when Devon glares, she hisses as Devon grabs her wrist tight, knowing it’s going to bruise and crowds her. “I think I said I want you.”

Yeri is pissed and a pissed off Yeri isn’t pretty.

“And I think.” Yeri pushes him off, seeing the surprise in his eyes at how much stronger she is then how she looks. “I said no, consent is a thing baby, respect it or you won’t see me anymore.”

Devon rolls his eyes, but wraps an arm around her waist and kisses her cheek. “Sorry.”

Yeri smirks, pleased. “No harm was done, can you go get me a drink, please?”

Devon nods, slinking off through the crowd, Yeri sees Kacey and laughs seeing her wiggle out on the dance floor. She gets pulled in, forgetting about the drink that was supposed to be delivered to her and has fun with her friend until she has to use the bathroom.

“I’ll be back,” Yeri shouts, Kacey nodding.

Rushing upstairs, she finds the bathroom and hurries her business. She looks in the mirror to see some of her lipstick smudged, fixing it, she hears a sound from the other side of the wall and waits.

She scrunches her brows when she hears moaning. Raising a brow, she goes out the door and pauses when she notes that Devon’s door is right next to the bathroom.

Oh, he’s going to be pissed to know that people fucked in his room. She grins, getting closer to the door and turns the doorknob slowly, before bursting in.

She thought she would scare the shit out of some of her peers, but what she finds, makes her see red.

A girl jumps off of Devon, taking the blanket with her to cover herself. Devon is left bare, trying to cover himself.

“It’s not what it looks like,” Devon says quickly.

Yeri and the girl give him unimpressed looks.

“Oh really, it looks like you were fucking some other girl when you're supposed to be my boyfriend.” Yeri glances down and snorts, raising her head. “Well, it seems I lucked out, I thought you told me you would have made my night perfect… not with that dick you wouldn’t of.”

Devon chokes, his eyes widening as Yeri continues.

“Here I thought I was the luckiest girl in the world, but really, that’s just sad.” looking to the girl, she raises a brow. “You can have him and his small dick. I’m done.”

Yeri walks out, holding tight to her dignity as she rushes to find Kacey who seems to be sobering up by the window. “We need to go.”

Kacey doesn’t ask, just get’s her keys and takes Yeri’s hand when she sees tears glistening in Yeri’s eyes.

Walking to the car, Yeri looks to Kacey. “Are you okay to drive?”

“Yes, I only had one beer. I promise I’m fine.”

Yeri nods, getting in and laying her head on the window.

When they get to their street, Yeri has finished telling Kacey everything, Kacey rolls her eyes as she pulls into her house.

“You’re better off without the asshole, don’t worry about it. You guys weren’t even that serious were you?”

Yeri shrugs but hates herself for even falling for his tricks. She’s smarter than this, she’s her father’s daughter, they raised her right… and she’s throwing it down the drain.

Sniffing, she remembers her appa telling her about Kagome, her mother that was never a mother, remembers some things about her and none of them are pleasant.

Sighing, she wipes her eyes.

“Don’t cry over him Yeri.” Kacey pushes back some of Yeri’s hair, giving her a sad look.

“I’m not crying over him, I fucked up. I feel guilty for even going out, I’m drunk, I’m turning into my mother and I’m just now realizing it.” Yeri punches the door, opening it to stomp out. She stumbles a little but rights herself and comes around to give Kacey a hug.

“I’ll see you tomorrow,” Yeri grumbles.

“Yeah, see ya.”

Yeri turns, walking to her house, not seeing the fond look she gets from Kacey.

Blowing out a breath, she rounds to her window and just... stops functioning for a moment…

The ladder is gone and the window is closed…

“Well fuck.” Yeri goes to the front door, sucking in her courage and opens the door.

She furrows her brows when she hears Hakkun’s cartoon on, rounds the corner to see her dad munching on popcorn and petting Holly.

“So, how was the party?” Hoseok asks, turning to look at her, raising a brow at the outfit.

“How long am I grounded for?” Yeri cuts to the chase, wanting to just go to bed so she can sleep off the booze and apologize in the morning.

“Did you drink?” Hoseok asks, setting the popcorn on the coffee table.

Yeri frowns, crossing her arms and nodding. “Does appa know I snuck out?”

“No, he’s out like a light, which is why I’m offering you a plea deal.”

Yeri snorts but comes over to sit. “What?”

“There’s a summer job I have for you.”

Yeri almost wants to say she’ll take the grounding but sighs letting her dad continue.

“It’s voluntary so you won’t be paid, but you’ll put in work, it's at the pet shelter, one of my partner’s daughters just started and right when I saw your bed empty I knew the perfect punishment for you. Also for Kacey too, since I’ll be talking to her mother.”

“No, I don’t want to get her in trouble.” Yeri pleads, but knows it’s no use, her dad has always been tougher to crack than her appa. She slumps against the couch, bringing Holly into her arms. “Are you going to tell appa?”

“Yes.”

“He’s going to ground me anyway.” Yeri turns her head, giving her dad a look.

“No, he won’t. I’ll make sure part of your summer is spent at the shelter.” Hoseok grins at Yeri’s flat look.

“Now, tell me how the party went. I’m curious. I snuck out a couple of times myself, but it was only to see your appa, nothing too exciting.”

Yeri cracks a smile, but it quickly disappears. “I got drunk, danced, made out with my now secret ex-boyfriend and walked in on him fucking some girl, so I guess I could say the night sucked.”

Hoseok blinks, taking in the information. “I… what?”

“I had a boyfriend, I was going to tell you and appa but his parents don’t like… gays. And… he cheated on me tonight, walked right in on him. Good riddance honestly, he had a small dick.” Yeri sniffs, messing with Holly’s ears.

“Yeri… I have to ask-”

“I’m still a virgin, which is why he cheated on me… I’m not stupid. Like I’m going to give up my v-card just because a guy shows interest in me.” Yeri rolls her eyes. “Plus, I’m waiting.”

Hoseok wraps an arm around her shoulders, wrinkling his nose at the smell of booze, but pecks her on the head. “That’s my girl.”

Yeri chuckles, leaning her head on his shoulder.

“What’s going on?”

Hoseok yelps, almost jumping a foot in the air as he turns to see Yoongi standing behind the sofa… he looks from Yeri to Hoseok, then whips right back to Yeri when he sees what she’s wearing.

Sighing, Yoongi rubs his eyes, turning on his heel and going for the stairs. “I trust you have this Hobi, I’m going back to bed. We’ll deal with this in the morning.”

Yeri watches her appa go back to bed, turning to her dad to see him groan. “Is that a good sign?”

Hoseok gives Yeri a look. “No, that meant he’s too tired to deal with the situation, which means… he’s pissed.”

Yeri nods, wincing.

“Go take a shower and then bed… for real this time.” Hoseok says, hugging Yeri tight.

“Okay.” Yeri pulls back, biting her lip. “I am sorry… I… I’m turning into my mother am I?”

Hoseok searches Yeri’s face, seeing guilt in her eyes. “No, you're being a teenager… a challenging one at that, but nothing your appa or me weren’t prepared for. Now, go to bed.”

Yeri trails up the stairs.

“I love you, dad.”

Hoseok grins, tugging at her hair. “I love you, too Sunshine.”

Yeri rushes off to the bathroom, Hoseok going to his room, ready to be Yeri’s attorney and get her out of jail. Squaring his shoulders, he opens the door and heads in to face Yoongi in appa mode.
