Summary
the moment taehyung sees the new boy, he tries to avoid him. jungkook is all bunny teeth and baby laughter but he scoots closer to taehyung in science practicals until taehyung’s suffocating under his brightness.
“you okay?” jungkook asks when he sees the wrapping around taehyung’s wrist, slight bit of red bleeding through. he’s innocent and taehyung can tell by the way jungkook blinks at the wound, like he doesn’t know what caused it.
taehyung just shrugs his hoodie sleeve back up. “i’m fine,” he says curtly, and he doesn’t care whether jungkook’s hurt or concerned because jungkook shouldn’t be worried about someone like him. everyone who has worried about him had grown tired of him in the end and taehyung turns away because he cannot bear to grow attached to jungkook, grow attached to someone who will only break his heart later.
