Work Text:
Here he was, at yet another wedding.
The amount of people left from their class that were still unwed was quickly becoming smaller and smaller, surprisingly, a majority of them marrying within the class.
First it was Eijiro and Mina, and not too long after them it was Mashirao and Toru, then Ochako and Tenya and so on.
Right now they were at Denki and Kyoka’s wedding. And at the moment Hanta was off to the side watching as Denki was trying to jam a piece of cake in Kyoka’s mouth while she seemed to be giggling and pushing the fork away.
He was happy for them. He was happy for all of his former classmates that had found love. With Denki and Kyoka now married, that made only Katsuki and him left from the ‘Bakusquad’ who had yet to be married. Though there had been rumors of ‘Hero Deku’ seen at jewelry stores browsing rings. So soon maybe it would just be him left.
Maybe even Minoru will find someone before him, because Hanta sure wasn’t having any luck, not that he had much extra time to try and go on dates and stuff anyways. Maybe he was just destined to be alone.
“What are you doing all the way over here?”
The voice startled him for a moment, before he looked over and saw it was only Tsuyu.
“O-oh! Just doing some thinking, that’s all. I’ll probably rejoin them in a bit. You?”
Tsuyu nodded, “Same actually. There’s been a lot of weddings lately it seems.”
Hah, maybe Tsuyu was thinking about the same things he was… When he thought about it, she was about to be in a similar position as him. Momo and Shoto were due to get married next. And if the Deku ring shopping rumors were true, then she would also be the last member of the ‘Dekusquad’ to not be married. As far as he knew at least.
For all he knew though, she could already be married and just didn’t have a wedding or he just wasn’t invited. Or she had a partner and they were planning on tying the knot soon. They talk sometimes but mostly in the old class group chats, rarely ever one on one with each other.
She was right there, he could ask.
No no, she came over here to think, not to get hit on or anything. She probably wasn’t interested in him.
“Yeah there sure has been. How about you? Got anyone special in your life?”
Annndd there he goes, he’s going through with it anyways.
“Nah, haven’t had time or the motivation to look recently, though with all these weddings it does kinda give me a little urge to start looking I suppose kero. Seeing everyone so happy on their big day. Makes me hope one day I’ll get to know what it’s like.”
That sounded kinda similar to some of his thoughts, “Kinda same here, I was thinking about that kinda stuff too, being a Pro doesn’t leave too much time to go looking for a love life.”
Not that he hadn’t tried before, people on dating apps he’d come across were mostly … yeah he doesn’t want to remember what he’s seen.
He turned to Tsuyu with a small chuckle, “Maybe we should just get together”
Wait what did he just say, he had only meant to think it, damn now he’s probably scared Tsuyu off because he couldn’t keep his mouth shut.
“Well why not?”
…Huh?
“Wait really?” Hanta quickly asked, a bit surprised.
Tsuyu nodded, “Yeah? We’re both single, we’ve known each other for quite awhile now, we’re both Pro’s so it’s hard to find time to get out there and look, so why not give this a try?”
Wow was it really gonna be this easy? No, it had to be a joke, Tsuyu was pulling his leg, that’s all... but maybe?
“Well uh yeah sure I’d be up for it if you are!”
The froggy girl nodded once again, “ I am, kero. So it’s a date? How about that pizza place near the school we all used to go to? Say next Tuesday?”
Woah that was quick, Tsuyu was much more gutsy than he thought, she’d even beat him to asking out on a date.
“W-Wait huh!? I mean I’d love too? I’ll have to check my schedule but otherwise I’m totally up for that?” This was a turn of events he wouldn’t of expected to happen when he arrived at the wedding that day, but it wasn’t bad, maybe they would actually make this work and no longer would Hanta wake up in the mornings alone, or return from work to an empty home.
He would get to know what it’s like waking up to next to someone every morning, maybe getting random texts from her, and he’d send her random little texts too, prepare meals for each other, all that cute couple stuff.
“Heyyy what are you two doing over here! The party’s over here!” called out the pink girl motioning for them to come over and join where she was with Eijiro, Izuku, and Katsuki.
Hanta and Tsuyu looking over as they heard Mina call to them, “Well I guess that’s our cue to get back to the others.” Tsuyu said, motioning ‘one moment’ with her finger to Mina so she could finish the conversation with Hanta.
“Let me know then, I’ll keep my schedule open.” She said, and started walking towards Mina, Hanta following to talk to Eijiro and Katsuki.
In his head, planning on even if he already had plans for next Tuesday, he’d find a way to move them around so he could go out with Tsuyu.
