There's yellow and gold all around them, running through them and their veins and they both hold their hands out for the other.
Chuuya grunts as he tries to maintain a hold on his ability, pushing through the barrier around them. He suddenly shouts;
"Dazai!"
Dazai shouts back;
"Chuuya!"
They both slide against the floor, reaching out for the other, then their palms slam together and their fingers intertwine.
That's when they both felt it.
A rush of adrenaline and excitement shoot through the two of them, making their whole body shudder as they feel the bond between them suddenly come crashing, mixing in with the other haft of them both and creating a link.
But, they don't have time to worry about that at the moment.
Chuuya jumps into the air above Rando and says with a frown; "Not even you can escape gravity." Then, with a light, single punch, the man goes flying into the ground, slamming so hard that Dazai can feel the vibrations from where he is standing almost ten feet away.
Then, the old boss disappears in a flash of bright white and yellow light, only leaving tiny shining sparkles in his wake.
All is silent for a few moments as Dazai watches Ch-his soulmate, float down back onto the ground, red surrounding his tiny body until it vanishes as he touches to the floor right in front of Rando.
The younger teen stalks forward, letting the metal encasing his arm smash onto the concrete surface as he comes up beside the other.
Rando says a few words, Dazai doesn't really pay attention, and then, before he breathes his last breath, he says;
"It's an anomaly, isn't it?" He says, staring off into the sky. "Soulmates. I had one once." He then laughs, but it's strained and rough around the edges. "It's funny, the one thing that's supposed to heal me is the one thing that ended up destroying me." A pause. "Be careful, boy," He says to Chuuya. "Soulmates are a blessing, and a curse."
Chuuya's eyes widen.
Rando smiles. "Whatever you do, don't ever let go of the bond you two now share." Then, the twinkle in his eyes fade and all that's left is an empty corpse devoid of life.
All is silent for a few moments before Chuuya whirls around to face Dazai, the brown-haired teen eyeing the other before suddenly he pulled forward by tiny hands and then, their sweaty foreheads are against each other.
"You heard the bastard," The redhead hissed. "Don't ever let me go."
Dazai allowed himself to smile as he wrapped his hands around the older's waist. "I should say the same thing to you," He said. "Don't let me go, and I won't let you go."
Chuuya scoffs and rolls his eyes, but presses their lips together anyways.
