Chapter Text
There was a splash of color across Saitama’s normally pale face, two red flags situated on his cheekbones. Genos knew from these, and from his sensors, that his sensei was running a fever. He had attempted to alert Saitama, but the strong man had waved him off.
Now the pair were wandering through the streets of city C, looking for a monster that had been popping up and terrorizing random areas every day. From witness reports, it appeared to be some sort of serpent, but with a multitude of legs like an insect. The reports were a little confused, but overall sounded like nothing they couldn’t handle.
Even so, Genos couldn’t help but worry. His sensors were picking up alarming levels of heat from Saitama’s body-
The monster erupted up through the street ahead, and Genos’s thoughts immediately turned to how to fight it.
The reports had been more accurate than expected. The monster was scaled and whip-curled, a bright, venomous electric green streak. It’s sinuous body was interrupted by many long, bisected legs, which it was currently using to rip through the closest buildings. The look was completed with a hideous snake head, long fangs exposed.
Saitama launched into the fight, raising a fist to strike-
And missing?
Yes, he had missed. Genos watched in horrified fascination. His sensei was slow today. Usually he moved faster than the eye could see, yet today Genos could track every movement. He was probably slow enough that Genos could strike him right now- and that worried the cyborg even more.
Usually when Saitama fought, Genos just tried to stay out of his way- they both knew that the strongest man didn’t need any help. But this felt different, and Genos took a step forward-
Just as Saitama finished the fight with a single punch. As usual. Genos relaxed as chunks of monster rained down.
Saitama frowned. The monster was dead, but he felt worse now. He was breathing hard… too hard…
The last thing Saitama heard was someone shouting his name before his vision went black.
