Dubious, Pidge glances between the fire and the witch. But it’s not as if she has much room to doubt this woman, desperate as she is, so she turns back to the flames and tells them: “I want to save Lance. I don’t want him to die.”

Pidge receives a prophecy which reveals that her friend is going to die, with no specifications other than the infuriatingly vague promise "soon." Determined to prevent this horrible fate from happening, she turns to a space mall fortune-teller, who tells her that her only hope of saving Lance's life is to seduce him.
