The Disc at the Bottom of the Box

Summary:

“Wait, what about this one at the bottom?” Jirou picked up the lone disc with no case and flipped it over, looking over it.

Hagakure grabbed the disc from Jirou’s hands and also looked it over. “It doesn’t have a label. Do you think it’s...porn?”

Jirou scrunched up her nose. “Ew, no! Mic-sensei wouldn’t have that.”

“Well, should we just… put it in and see?” Uraraka suggested.

One day at a class movie night, no one can agree on what to watch--until Present Mic comes to the rescue with some more DVD's. What he didn't realize, however, is that he left a disc in there that, well, may or may not be slightly embarrassing to him and Aizawa. Read as you go through the pair's Yuuei days along with their long-gone friend, Shirakumo Oboro, as well as a handful of familiar faces along the way!

Notes:

Hello and welcome to my self-indulgent fic of Aizawa, Mic, Oboro, and their friends in UA,,,,,, I have no idea when I’ll update this but hopefully it’ll be soon! I’ve got so many fun ideas planned.

Enjoy!

Chapter 1: Oboro's Video Diaries

Chapter Text

If you can’t find anyone from Class 1-A in their dorm rooms on a Friday night, chances are they’re having a movie night. It was a common occurrence, started by none other than Ashido Mina, in order to get closer as friends. It had started with the “Bakusquad” as dubbed by Kaminari and slowly grew to the rest of the class. October was dedicated to horror movies and horror movies only. All the other Fridays were fair game.

That didn’t stop them from disagreeing on what movie to watch.

“We just fucking watched that!”

“That was months ago! This movie is a classic! You have to watch it at least twice!”

“Why can’t we just watch a Disney movie?”

“There are more movies than just Disney movies!”

A whistle cut them off. “Hey, Listeners!”

All the heads turned toward the doorway and a chorus of “hello”’s greeted Present Mic, who was wearing casual clothing with his hair down.

“I heard you were running low on movies to watch! I brought a handful of old movies that I never watch. You can check them out if you want to!” He walked toward the couch and dropped the box he was carrying.

“Thank you, Mic-sensei. We’ll search through these.” Yaoyorozu smiled as she leaned over the box.

“Don’t mind me! I’m just gonna stop by and say hi to your homeroom teach!” Present Mic waved and walked toward Aizawa’s room, whistling a tune.

Although he had dropped off a wide array of movies to watch, that did nothing to change the fact that they still could not agree on what to watch.

“This one?”

“No, not that one.”

“How about this?!”

“Nah.”

“We’ve gone through all of them.”

Hagakure nodded, although they couldn’t see her doing so. “Okay, I’m down for that. Brace yourselves, everyone?”

Everyone nodded and Hagakure moved over to the DVD player, sliding the disc in and moving back to the couch.

There was static for a couple of seconds before there was an image of a sidewalk.

“Oh! It’s working!” The camera turned toward the voice, showing someone in a Yuuei uniform with fair skin, a bandage on their nose, blue eyes, and wispy, cloudy hair. “Hello! I’m Shirakumo Oboro! Uh, what else should I say?”

“Your hero name!” Another voice piped up.

“Oh, yeah! I’m gonna be the hero Loudcloud!” Shirakumo grinned. “I am joined by none other than my resident loud friend!” He turned the camera toward another person with short blonde hair and familiar shades.

“Wait, is that…?” Ashido squinted at the screen.

“HEY! I’m Yamada Hizashi, and I’m gonna be the Voice Hero: Present Mic!”

The class exploded with noise but was shushed by Ashido as she leaned closer to the tv from her spot on the ground.

“Last, but not least, we have our resident grumpy Gen-Ed transfer friend!” Shirakumo grinned once more, and Yamada leaned into the view of the camera.

“He’s Yuuei’s Resident Emo!” Yamada had a shit-eating grin as he looked at the camera.

“Yuuei’s Resident Grump!” Shirakumo had the same grin as he and Yamada looked at each other.

“Yuuei’s—”

“You two are about to be Yuuei’s Resident Corpses if you keep it up.” A third voice, flat, dull, and tired said.

Shirakumo and Yamada laughed as Shirakumo turned the camera to the unknown voice. They had long, slightly past shoulder-length black hair and were also wearing a Yuuei uniform.

“No. Way.” Kaminari shook Shinsou’s arm.

“Come on, introduce yourself!” Yamada yelled.

“No.” The person glared at the ground as if the world personally offended him.

“We won’t go to the cat cafe if you don’t.” Shirakumo piped up, and the person stiffened before sighing.

“Aizawa Shouta.”

“Pro hero name?” Yamada prompted.

“Eraserhead.” At this, Shirakumo started laughing, the camera shaking a little. Aizawa scowled. “Oh my God, you’ve laughed at it every single time! Why do you keep laughing at it?!”

“Sorry, Shouta—it’s not the name, it’s the fact that you let Hizashi pick it!” The camera stopped shaking as Shirakumo’s laughter died down.

“It doesn’t matter and I can’t bring myself to care.” Aizawa shrugged. “It’s not going to stick.”

“It will!” Shirakumo argued.

“No, it won’t.”

“I bet you five hundred yen that it’ll still be your hero name by graduation.”

“Deal.” Aizawa stuck his hand out and Shirakumo shook it.

Yamada stuck his head between the two, getting into the view of the camera.“HEY! My naming skills aren’t that bad!”

The camera shifted as Shirakumo trained the camera onto Yamada. “You named a cat Dog.”

“Well—! Okay, that’s fair.”

“Hurry up you two. I want to see the cats.” Aizawa started walking away and both Yamada and Shirakumo followed.

“You’re Yuuei’s resident cat lover!” Yamada grinned.

“Hizashi, if you don’t shut up in point three seconds I will throttle you right where you stand.” Aizawa glared.

“You wound me, Shouta! I don’t know why I let you be friends with me.”

“Let me become friends with you?” Aizawa grinned— the class shuddered at the familiar unsettling grin— and the grin settled into a scowl. “Excuse me, I kicked your ass to win the Sports Festival, and, if I remember correctly, you were the one to pester me into becoming friends.”

“But it worked, didn’t it?” Yamada grinned.

“...Yeah, I guess.” Aizawa blushed and hunched over some more as if he was trying to hide.

“And now we’re—all three of us—peas in a pod!” The camera shook as Yamada slung his arms over the two of them. The camera pointed at the ground, then it was turned so it showed the three of them—Yamada and Shirakumo grinning while Aizawa had a small smile on his face.

“Well, I guess here’s a good place to stop this, uh… Video journal I guess.” Shirakumo narrowed his eyes while Yamada released them.

“Dude, it’s totally a video diary.” Yamada elbowed Shirakumo’s side.

“Shut up! It’s not a… Okay, it’s totally a video diary.”

“YEA—” Yamada’s quirk influenced shout was cut off by a quick Erasure from Aizawa.

“Don’t kill my ears.” Aizawa huffed.

“Well, anyway,” Shirakumo turned the camera back onto himself. “This is Shirakumo Oboro signing off!”

“That was so lame—”

“Be quiet, Hizashi, I don’t see you—”

Static filled the TV screen as the clip ended and a new clip started playing. Iida leaned over to grab the remote and he paused it. Protests came from the class but Iida silenced them with a shout and an arm chop.

“It is very unbecoming of us to watch this! We are prying into our sensei’s private life!”

“Oh, come on! The disc was in the box too!” Ashido argued.

“It could’ve been in there by mistake.” Yaoyorozu brought her hand to her face.

The class started arguing amongst themselves again and, yet again, a whistle cut them off.

“Woah, woah, woah! What are you arguing about again?” Mic tilted his head.

“We found a disc in your box and Iida says we shouldn’t watch it because we’d be prying in your private life—” Midoriya was cut off as Mic raised a hand.

“Wait, what disc?”

Ashido snatched the remote from Iida and rewound the footage until it was the picture of the three of them, Mic’s arms around the necks of the others.

“Oh.” Mic smiled, it was a bittersweet thing, and he chuckled. “Well, I don’t mind, but I’m not sure your homeroom teach would appreciate it.”

“Appreciate what?”

Everyone turned at the new voice, and Aizawa shuffled toward the couch.

“Is there something I wouldn’t—” Aizawa’s eyes widened once he caught a glance of the TV. “Oh.”

The class stared nervously at him, waiting for him to say something. Aizawa cleared his throat.

“I don’t care if you watch it, just don’t go bugging me about it later.” He said gruffly, raising a lazy hand and turning around, shuffling back to his room.

The class cheered and Mic grinned. “Do you mind if I watch this with you? It’s been a while since I last saw it.”

There was a chorus of voices as everyone moved around, the students on the couch moving aside as Jirou pushed Mic toward the couch, sitting him down and returning to her spot by Yaoyorozu. Ashido bounced in her spot as she pointed the remote at the TV and fast-forwarded to the spot they were at, and clicked play.
