One Fist, Two Fist

Summary:

Eijirou’s smile faltered when he looked over at the eagle on the table and All Might gave a cry in greeting.

“Oh. . . um. . . Katsuki. Your bird has your All-“

“Ha! Told you, shitty nerd!” Katsuki jabbed a finger in Izuku’s chest, eyes manic with glee. “That figurine’s fucking mine!”

“No, it’s not!” Izuku shouted back.

Work Text:

Musutafu was a place known for housing the world’s most valiant of heroes and the dastardliest of villains. There were fights televised daily between the forces of good and evil. There were shops set up specifically for hero merchandise. There were insurance policies that covered damage from up to seven villains of your choosing.

In a society built upon Quirks, it was no wonder, really, why so many children looked up the Japan’s strongest hero; their very own Symbol of Peace: All Might.

Bakugou Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku were two hero fanboys that worshipped the hero beyond measure. The two brothers were always one upping the other with their knowledge on various Pro-Heroes, obscure or in the Top Ten. Izuku knew everything there was to know about Pro-Hero Quirks and strategies. The green haired nine year old was not someone to underestimate (especially considering he had notebooks filled with information on top heroes that included information on how Pros could better utilize their Quirks as well as how one would, hypothetically, kill them). Katsuki, a boy with an explosive personality to match his Quirk, was also a master of Hero strategy, but he could also figure out strength and weak points after only a few seconds of watching one of their fights (as well as replicate signature moves after seeing it performed once). They were the proud owners of many (many) limited edition Pro-Hero figurines. Their shared room was filled with shelves upon shelves of merchandise as tribute to society’s greatest heroes.

But they did not always like to share custody.

“Fuck off, Deku. I bought the Bronze Age All Might!”

“No, Mom got that for me on my birthday!”

“She got you that shitty Thirteen doll, dipshit!”

“It’s not sh-sh-shitty!”

Katsuki raised an unimpressed eyebrow as he gave another yank to the figurine the two boys were having an impromptu tug-of-war over. Katsuki was absolutely certain the little shit took the figurine from his shelf. There was even an empty space on his shelf where All Might used to sit.

Izuku gave an impressively weak yank in his own direction. He knew Katsuki could be hot-headed at times that blocked his rationality but this All Might was obviously his! He had taken out of the closet so he could put it on his bookshelf. After he dusted it, of course. And it even has the scuff mark on his chest from where he dropped it after opening the gift.

“It’s mine!”

Both boys glared venomously at each other. Katsuki raised his left hand, letting off a few warning explosions. Like hell he would yield to shitty Deku! He grumbled slightly when he heard his mom yell about no Quirk use in the house. Izuku childishly stuck his tongue out at him.

The two boys had stopped tugging back and forth, instead settling to glare at one another with neither lessening their grip on the figurine. Their pet eagle, named justly after All Might, watched the interaction in amusement, his head comically swiveling between the two boys. Eventually, he gave a loud cry and swooped towards the figurine and grabbed it between his talons (gently, of course). He perched on Katsuki’s bedside table and protectively folded his wings around the figurine.

The two boys watched, mouth agape, as All Might preened his wings nonchalantly, as if he wasn’t currently in possession of a 12 000-yen, second edition Bronze Age All Might (the Pro-Hero) figurine. Katsuki gritted his teeth and reached towards the protective dome of feathers only to receive a nip in response.

“Oi, fucking chicken! Imma roast your ass!”

All Might made a snickering noise but refused to give up the figurine. He knew Katsuki was all bark and no bite when it concerned the eagle.

Izuku was someone who could learn from other’s mistakes, and so he did not try and take the figurine from the bird. The best thing they could do was wait for All Might to leave the figurine unattended. It was a waiting game. Boy versus bird.

There was a small knock on their door causing the two brothers to momentarily take their eyes off their pet. A familiar head of red and white poked through, a blue and a grey eye settling on Izuku.

“Hello, Izuku.” Shouto greeted, fully stepping into the bedroom. “What is up?”

“Shochan!” Izuku launched himself across the room to greet the taller boy.

Shouto barely responded in time to catch him, his cheeks heating up considerably as Izuku’s curly locks tickled his nose. Izuku smiled grandly up at him and Shouto used every bit of his self-control to not burst into flames.

“Yo! Bakubro!” Another voice called from the stairs and Katsuki audibly groaned.

A cheerful shark tooth grin entered the room. Katsuki rolled his eyes as Eijirou raised a fist towards Katsuki, but he reciprocated the fist bump, nonetheless.

Shouto winced at the shrill tone, his fists unconsciously clenched. Eijirou looked like he regretted every existing. (Maybe opening his mouth again would fix it? Take two or second times a charm or two negatives make a positive, right?)

“Hey! All Might is kinda acting like me!” Eijirou forced a laugh as he approached the bird. He activated his Quirk, crossing his arms to form an X. “Super manly, am I right?”

Katsuki looked seconds away from exploding the bandanna wearing boy while Izuku looked contemplative. (Eijirou was going to take this as a win).

Izuku scribbled something down, frowned, erased it, then started writing again. He had somehow manifested a ruler and compass at some point. Eijirou wasn’t sure if they came from his sleeve or a pocket (maybe even his hair). Whil he was impressed with Izuku's ability to manifest stationary at will, but he he was sure Shouto had never looked more enamored with someone.

“Kacchan.” Izuku turned slowly towards his brother. “Guess wha-“

“No.” Katsuki cut him off. “Whatever you’re thinking, no.”

“But Kacchan!” Izuku’s eyes were sparkling. “What if we-“

“I’m leaving.”

The three boys watched the blond stomp out of the room. They listened to his heavy footsteps head down the stairs, a few explosions punctuating his exit. Eijirou made a move to follow the explosive boy but Izuku grabbed his sleeve to stop him.

“Just wait.” He told him.

It was a few minutes later when the familiar stomping returned to the stairs. Katsuki sighed as he re-entered the room, a green and orange tool belt hugging his waist. “What’s the plan, shitty nerd?”

Izuku grinned, grabbing his notebook and shoving it towards his brother. “We’re gonna recreate Eijirou’s Hardening Quirk so you stop touching my stuff.”

Katsuki’s eyes narrowed. “Say that again, Deku. I think I misheard you.”

Izuku’s eyes were light with mischief. “I said-"

“Wait a second.” Eijirou stepped between he two boys. He glanced around the room, searching for something to stop them. He brightened immediately. “Where’s All Might?”

The eagle had opened the window while Young Izuku was drawing in his little notebook. As much as he wanted to stay with the two boys and help resolve their argument, he had a job to do. He soared to the thickest branch and used his weight to push it down, opening a secret hatch at the bottom of the trunk. He tucked his wings close to his body as he took the chute down to Headquarters.

The High-Spec Establishment for Restricted Operations (H.E.R.O.) was a high-tech facility where Pro-Heroes came to be debriefed on their missions, gather their support items, or hide away from the press. It was run by the smartest mammal on Earth: a man-bear-dog-creature named Nezu. The organization was linked to the Hero Commission but generally had free reign on how they approached their missions. They even had a supremely high budget (which is why All Might was a little bitter that his hero form didn’t quite fit in his chair. Honestly, you would think they would be able to purchase one if the amount of tea Nezu had imported to the facility weekly was any indication of the organization’s wealth).

“Ah, All Might.” Principal Nezu (a ridiculous title, All Might thought, but he was in no position to challenge it) took a sip of his Golden Tulip tea and gave a satisfied sigh. “All for One is working on a new oddity in a warehouse right outside the Musutafu. All we know is that he is using a Quirk called Strong Fist, but we are unsure what exactly he plans to do with it.”

All Might nodded, already trying to think of different scenarios what exactly his nemesis could be planning (and, well, All Might’s thinker wasn’t exactly the brightest bulb in the room). He could be. . . well, All Might knew it was something evil, but what could one do with a fist?

“-but as long as you’re aware of him you should be fine.” Nezu chuckled and All Might had the sinking feeling that he missed something important. “Good luck, All Might.”

All Might powered One for All in his legs and kicked off the floor, jumping through the opened hatch in the roof. He didn’t have time to dwell on the past! He followed the coordinates Nezu had programmed into his watch, jumping from rooftop to rooftop. He waved to some of the cameras he passed by, making sure they had plenty of action shots to work with before continuing on his way.

All for One was the worst villain known to humanity and only All Might had the power to take him on. The man had a Quirk that allowed him to take and give Quirks at will, and it was All Might’s Quirk alone that could rival it. All for One wanted to eradicate the Hero Commission and reform the laws surrounding Quirks once he became Supreme Dictator.

All Might couldn’t let that happen! Not if he wanted to call himself the Number One Hero.

The watch started beeping and he descended. He landed on the roof of the warehouse and clicked off the watch (after several minutes of trying to find which button turned the alarm off and eventually having to call Nezu). He sent a Detroit Smash to the roof below him and crashed to the ground of the garage. He stood up and glanced around the room, looking to spot his nemesis. He heard a sinister cackle before something was pushed over his shoulders and pinning his arms to his sides. He noticed it was a ladder and inwardly laughed. A simple ladder couldn’t stop him! However, when he tried to activate his Quirk, the metal did not bend.

“All Might, All Might, All Might.” A voice like a melody floated through the air in a disappointed tone, only it was an evil melody. “How unexpected of you to drop in. And by that,” All for One approached the hero, his white hair reflecting some of the light coming from the hanging lights in the ceiling. “I mean completely expected.”

“Give it up, All for One.” All Might sneered as All for One pushed back on the ladder, causing him to stumble a few paces back. "Good will always triumph over evil."

“No, I don’t think I will.”

All for One turned his back to the hero to pick up a large gun from the table. It was about the size of a rifle and a muted brown and green colour. All Might watched in horror as the villain tested the weight of the gun and aimed it at a wall, teasing the trigger.

He didn’t shoot.

“This is my Punch-oddity.” All for One said as if he were commenting on the weather and not a weapon of mass destruction. He stroked the machine like a cat and All Might involuntarily shuddered. “With one push of the trigger, it will send out a truly devastating attack in the form of, well, a punch.” He frowned for a second and All Might knew he would have to sit through another backstory. “My little brother was rather weak, preferring to read comics than play sports. As the older sibling, it was my duty to protect him from mundane things, such as those who looked down on him. Bullies, if you will. But I couldn’t always be there for him, and he got hurt numerous times because he did not have the means to protect himself, being Quirkless and all.” All for One’s hand burned red as he pulled out a ball of energy from his chest. It was a Quirk. “This oddity will be used to defeat anyone who opposes me. Starting with you.”

The machine glowed faintly as the Quirk seeped into the metal before becoming the same colour it was before. All for One aimed the oddity at a conveniently placed target at the far wall of the warehouse. A gigantic fist was shot out from the barrel of the gun, completely obliterating the target from existence.

Well, shit.

Tenko enjoyed gaming. Like, a lot. It made sense to him. Everything had a pattern and there were tricks and skills you could learn to help you. You levelled up as you went along, showing your progress in the game, unlike with life. There were no clear objectives in life and no way to clearly mark your progress. There were no save files to go back when you make a mistake and there are no dialogue prompts to help you out.

Like he said, Tenko enjoyed gaming. Now, what he didn’t like about it was when his best friend felt the need to commentate on every move he made during his gameplay.

“And he jumps, but entirely misses the platform. But wait! He saves himself on the ledge! Will he be able to recover the ground he lost and. . . there he goes, back to square one, ladies and gentlemen.”

Touya seemed all too smug where he was sitting in a beanbag, his black dyed hair and piercings seemed just a little brighter to match his joy in Tenko’s rage and Tenko resisted the urge to tackle him (he was in the middle of a game, after all).

“I could disintegrate you with a single touch.” Tenko gritted his teeth, his hands griping the remote harder than necessary.

“Don’t be like that, Shiggy! We still love you!”

Another thing he didn’t like (in general): Himiko Toga’s affection. Said girl wrapped her arms around his neck, causing him to throw his character off a cliff. He pushed her off with a low growl. “Don’t call me that.”

“But Shiggy!” The girl with the space buns on her head pouted. Her yellow cat eyes betrayed her amusement. “That’s the name of my big, bad, evil villain leader!”’

Tenko sighed, making sure everyone in the room knew what he thought about that. When he was younger, his two brothers begged him to play Heroes and Villains with them. But they didn’t want him to play a hero, oh no. They wanted him to be the villain. And thus, Shigaraki Tomura was born. He had covered himself in hands from an old Halloween prop because he thought it made him look edgy and dangerous. It was fun when he was little, especially when he convinced his friends to join his “League of Villains” and he was free to decay anything his cold heart desired. Touya had named himself Dabi, “Cremation”, which suited the hot blue flames of his Quirk well. Himiko stuck with her own name and her boyfriend named himself Twice. There was also their friend with a Gecko Quirk, Shuichi Iguchi, who went by the alias Spinner. Their fourth member was their friend with a Compress Quirk, Sako Atsuhiro, who used magic tricks and the name Mr. Compress. And finally, there was a girl with a Magnetism Quirk who went by Magne until she was finally able to legally change her name to it.

He was regretting the whole thing now, though, considering the nickname “Shiggy” would probably follow him until the day he died.

Probably even longer, knowing his shitty friends.

“I thought we agreed to never bring that up.” Tenko glowered at Himiko, who giggled innocently.

“Awww, but I like calling you Shiggy!”

“Well, I’m sure if you wanted to play again, your brothers would be more than happy to indulge you.” Touya rose from the floor to look down in the backyard. The group of four boys were tinkering with some half spherical machine. Shouto was balancing Izuku on his shoulders as the smaller boy carefully screwed in another piece. “You could start by destroying whatever machine they’re making.”

“What the fuck are you talking about?!” In a flash, Tenko was at the window. He gasped dramatically and Touya wished he could say his friend had intentionally made that noise. “Those brats!”

Touya and Himiko had never seen the pale haired boy move so fast before. They shared a long-suffering look before following him down the stairs.

Tenko was shrieking at his siblings who were dutifully ignoring him. Katsuki was the only one to give a reaction, simply flipping off the older boy as he dragged Eijirou into the house to grab something. Shouto caught his brother’s eye and gave a smirk before returning to help Izuku pack away the wiring.

“What you got there?” Touya asked.

“It’s a machine that can create a protective barrier, sorta like Eijirou’s.” Izuku explained, patting the panel where the wires were tucked away. “It would take incredible force for something to break it down, of course, but essentially it would prevent anyone from getting through. We wanted to make it because Kacchan-“

“Oi! Stop talking shit, Deku!” Katsuki barked, Eijirou and an All Might figurine in tow.

Katsuki placed the figurine in the middle of the yard before stepping away. Eijirou had an arm slung around Katsuki’s shoulders, bouncing on the balls of his feet before Katsuki hit the back of the head and told him to “fuck off”. Shouto was standing in between Touya and Himiko, his eyes lazily glancing between the figurine and Izuku. Izuku typed something into a keypad on the side of the machine, before turning to face the group.

“Everybody ready?”

“What the fuck are we-“ Tenko started before Izuku hit the button anyway.

There was a scream of terror from the teen as he jumped back several feet. Touya and Himiko gave their friend an unimpressed look. A small, translucent dome formed over the figurine, settling on the grass. You would barely know it was there except for the slight glimmer coming from it. Touya was impressed, yet again, by the kid’s ability to create an intricate machine that actually worked.

“Can you make it bigger?” Shouto asked.

Izuku nodded. “I could put one over the house!”

With a few more taps, a much bigger dome encased the house. Shouto was in awe of how intelligent his crush was.

Himiko squealed and scooped Izuku into a hug. “Oh, Izu-kun! You’re so cute and smart.”

It didn’t escape Touya how a layer of ice encased his younger brother’s fist. He was definitely going to be bugging him about it later.

“That’s. . . That’s. . .” Tenko stuttered.

“Manly!” Eijirou punched his fists together.

Dangerous!” Tenko snapped. Eijirou shrugged, not deterred by Tenko’s contradiction, and raised his fist in anticipation to punch the dome. Tenko grabbed the back of his shirt in alarm. He spun the kid around and grabbed his shoulders. “Are you insane? Do you even know what will happen if you touch it?”

Eijirou grinned. “Nope!” And promptly punched the dome.

There was a ripple effect that occurred, distorting the sky slightly, but it didn’t break. Izuku started mumbling about “contact forces” and “threshold”, scribbling in his notebook feverishly. Shouto was by his side, helpfully pointing out spelling mistakes in the kid’s work.

“Let me try!” Katsuki grinned like a predator before letting off a gigantic explosion against the dome.

Nothing.

Katsuki huffed but everyone could tell he was impressed. “Ya know, we could sell this to big corporations. Get paid a fucking lot and they’d be protected from villain attacks. Win-win.”

Izuku shook his head. “That wouldn’t work. People can only get in if the barrier is down. They’d have to turn it on and off every time someone entered or left a building, which leaves the vulnerable for that short period of time. Well, if there was an on and off switch.” He paused before his cheeks reddened sheepishly. “And now we’re stuck in here.”

“You saying you can’t build a remote that can do that?” Katsuki challenged.

Izuku rose to the bait like the naïve fish he was. “’Course I can, Kacchan! Give me fifteen minutes.”

“I could do it in ten.” Katsuki remarked offhandedly.

“You brats aren’t doing shit.” Tenko grabbed both boys and yanked them a part. “This thing could blow up at any second and I demand you call a hero now!”

Izuku got out of his older brother’s grasp and carried on like he hadn’t heard a word. (And maybe he hadn’t). Katsuki had wandered over to the lone tree in the backyard and laid back, his arms settled behind his head. Eijirou was quick to join him.

Tenko’s temper rose with each passing millisecond until he finally shouted, “I’m telling Mom!”

“Inko or Mitsuki?” Katsuki asked.

Tenko didn’t dignify that with a response, stomping off to the craft room where he knew Inko was working on a project. It was a wonder she hadn’t noticed anything.

Katsuki casually brought out his phone, a small beep emitting from it. He turned it around to face Izuku. “Time’s started, shitty nerd.”

All Might had gotten out of the ladder restraints a while ago (having turned into an eagle when the villain’s back was turned before returning to his hero form) and was now focused on wrestling the oddity away from his nemesis.

All Might and All for One had a grip on the rifle, each tugging the oddity their way. All for One had activated several Strength Augmentation Quirks and All Might had One for All working overtime, each trying to out muscle the other.

“Let go! It’s mine!”

“Never!”

(All Might had a vague sense of déjà vu with each passing second of the fight.)

The sweat on All Might’s palms was his downfall, letting the machine slip through his fingers. He stumbled back violently, feeling the dread build up in his chest at the prospect of losing. He did have to admit, however, that it was extremely satisfying to see the gun smack the villain in the face.

Both figures crashed to the ground, groaning slightly from the impact. They sat up at the same time, rubbing the spots where they were most sore. All Might knew there would be bruises littering his back tomorrow and All for One was fairly certain he nearly broke his nose.

“Ow! Fucking shit!” All for One cupped his nose in a vain attempt to ease the pain. “Is there blood?” All for One asked, his face throbbing.

Tilting his head up and uncovering his nose, All for One let his enemy lean in close. All Might took a quick glance for any sign of red or discoloration. He wanted to get back to the fight as soon as possible, after all. The Pro-Hero gave the all clear, only to receive a punch for his trouble. All for One laughed as he balanced the gun and aimed at All Might.

“Stay back!” The villain shouted as he rose to his feet.

And, well, what could All Might do, really? He stayed on the ground as All for One slowly approached, waiting to see if his nemesis would make a move. Satisfied that All Might looked suitably defeated, he inched closer. When he was five steps away, All Might leaped into action, retaliating with a punch of his own. All for One was forced back, his back hitting an inconvenient table. All Might was quick to take advantage of the situation, pushing the gun down to the villain’s neck to choke him.

“Harder,” All for One rasped and All Might obliged.

The he let go as soon as the words and their actual meaning registered.

All for One kicked All Might in the chest, rolling back across the table so that they were on opposing sides. He fired off his oddity and All Might dodged, the flying fist punching through the wall of the warehouse. It became a sort of dance after that; All for One would fire off another punch and All Might would barely jump or spin out of the way.

It finally came to a halt when a black mist came between them to stop another punch from being flown from either side. All Might gasped as he saw bright yellow eyes emerge from the mist, glaring at the two men like they were children.

“Master,” the mist greeted the villain with a small bow and All Might couldn’t help but raise a brow at the polite demeanor of the substance (man? minion? entity?). “I must implore you to stop. You are going to bring down the foundation of this building.”

Both men looked around, wincing at the damage they had wrought on the warehouse. There were more holes then there was wall and the ground was littered with rubble. It was a wonder how the place was still standing. It was also lucky that the warehouse was located near a dump and nothing important had been destroyed. All for One carefully lowered his gun, almost in shame. Kurogiri was right, of course. How could he enact more of his evil schemes if he killed himself in a warehouse? He couldn’t, is the answer.

But, would a couple more shots really hurt?

He pulled the trigger once more, then a final time, only to watch the flying fist disappear into one of Kurogiri’s portal. A tendril of smoke crawled out expectantly and All for One reluctantly placed his oddity in his grasp.

“You can have this back when you are responsible enough to handle it.”

All for One sighed. “I suppose that’s fair.”

All Might openly gaped at the two. He had so many questions but could only articulate one. “Where did. . . where did those last two hits go?”

Kurogiri hummed thoughtfully. “That’s a good question.”

The three stood in awkward silence, not sure what the next step to take was.

All for One straightened his tie. “Well, back to the drawing board, I suppose. Do you need a ride?"

All Might eyed the mist. "No, thank you, though."

"Same time tomorrow?”

All Might nodded amicably. “I’ll foil you again.”

“That was a tie!” All for One said indignantly.

Both men stepped forward, ready for round two, before a strong cough stopped them in their tracks. Kurogiri’s disappointed stare had them quickly back off, sending half-hearted glares at one another before parting ways.

All Might leaped out of the hole he originally came through, idly wondering where the last two hits ended up.

All for One took a final glance around the warehouse before waving a hand in the air. “Kurogiri, clean this mess up.”

The man sighed before summoning a broom. He really hated his job.

“Mom! I’m telling you, Izuku and Katsuki created a giant dome over the house and now we’re trapped!”

Inko sighed as she stared at the knitting needles in her hand. She had been trying to relax and work on a blanket for one of the patients she looked after at the Musutafu General Hospital. It was a soft yellow colour with blue and red accents to symbolize the Number One Hero. The little boy reminded her a lot of her little Izuku, with the hero worship and all, and she could just imagine the joy on his little face when she gave it to him.

But at this rate, he was going to be out of the hospital before she finished it.

“Sweetheart,” Inko placed the blanket gently on the table and took her son’s hands gently in her own, the soft fabric of his gloves caressing her palms. “Is this another one of you Heroes versus Villains games?”

No!” Tenko shouted but resisted the urge to pull his hands from his mother’s grasp and scratch his neck. “They really put a dome over the house and now we can’t get out and it could be dangerous because we might not even be getting oxygen or-“

“Oh, love.” Inko shushed. “I promise we’re not in danger. If you give me a second to clean up, I’ll come downstairs and look, okay?”

Tenko harshly nodded, pacing slightly through the small room as his mother cleaned up her project. She took great care in folding whatever she was making and Tenko wished she would just roll it into a ball and chuck it on a shelf. It’s not like anyone else ever came in here.

There were no windows in the craft room as it was in the center of the house on the top floor. Tenko knew if his mother didn’t hurry up some. . .  mysterious force or some shit would take away what his brother’s had been doing and his mother would give him that same sad, pitiful stare even though he knows it was there a minute ago!

Inko knew Tenko had quite the imagination on him. He always had a wild story about what his younger brothers were up to, ranging from robots to spaceships to catapults. Normal playing material that any young child would indulge in. She was a little concerned about how adamant Tenko was about these being real events, but she didn’t want to put him down in anyway. She had terrible anxiety herself, and she knew how much a difference it would have made if she had someone help quell her own worries and fears when she was younger. He had always been like this, even as a child, and it’s not like these were even real. She can handle the eccentric imagination and deep-rooted anxiety.

As much as she hated to admit it, with Izuku being Quirkless he was much more fragile. In the beginning, she had always been hovering around the younger boys, always fearful that Katsuki would be a little rougher with the smaller boy without intending to. She had heard horror stories from her first husband about his own Quirkless brother and did not wish the same fate to befall Izuku. Seeing as this was Tenko’s father, it was no wonder why he would be fearful of this as well. It took an intervention from Mitsuki and several anxiety attacks to get her to give him a bit more independence, and now she could not imagine how she had ever been so scared. And even so, it would be insane to believe even a fraction of these stories. Her Izuku was scarily intelligent, don’t get her wrong, but a lot of the things Tenko swore they “created” would have to involve a lot of Quirk use.

“Are you done?” Tenko asked impatiently, breaking her train of thought.

She smiled as she turned to him. “Lead the way.”

He didn’t hesitate to grab her hand and lead her to the backyard. She was already preparing what she would say to him once it was evident nothing was there.

Meanwhile, just as Izuku put the final touches on his remote (“Eight minutes and forty-three seconds,” Katsuki grinned) they heard a small whizzing sound heading towards them. Katsuki, with his sixth sense for danger, was the first to hit the ground, tackling Izuku who was obliviously fiddling with the remote. Eijirou instinctively activated his Quirk and covered Shouto with his body with only minor complaints coming from the youngest Todoroki. Touya pulled Himiko down, knowing it was his turn to use the self-preservation bone.

Katsuki watched a flying fist hit the dome, disintegrating the barrier but fortunately having disappeared itself. Then, a second fist punched their machine, destroying it instantly. He huffed, hating to see their handwork go to waste but also grateful he wouldn’t have to clean it up. (He remembered the last time his mom saw how much of a mess his and Izuku’s room was and they were stuck on house arrest for weeks as they tried to clean it. To be fair, how were they supposed to know how messy a large-scale baking soda volcano for their first grade Science Fair could be?)

“Well, at least we’re not trapped anymore.” Touya commented, dusting off his pants as he got to his feet.

The rest of the kids followed suit, with Katsuki yanking Izuku up by his collar in an attempt to “help” him. The smaller boy pouted at the remote in his hands before throwing it in the garbage, knowing it was essentially useless now.

“See, Mom? I told you they-“ Tenko stuttered to a stop, noticing the big machine from earlier was gone.

Inko peered around the yard politely. “I don’t see it, love, but that just means everyone is okay now, right?”

“But. . . But it was here!” Tenko spun around in a circle, as if his brothers had managed to move the two-ton machine and hide it.

“Hi, Mom!” Izuku greeted, a small wave accompanying his voice.

Inko smiled back. She noticed the lone figurine laying on the ground and went to pick it up. "Boys! The figurine I got you both for New Years is out here!'

Katsuki and Izuku eyed each other in shock. It was. . . both of theirs?

"Thanks, Mom." They both muttered.

Inko nodded in satisfaction. “It’s okay, Tenko.” Inko returned to her eldest son's side and gave his hand a gentle squeeze. “Everyone is fine. How about you help me with dinner, hmm?”

Tenko nodded, allowing himself to be dragged into the kitchen.

He should really stick to his games. They make a lot more sense then the bullshit his brothers pull off.

A loud cry could be heard from the sky and Izuku's shoulder quickly became All Might's perch.

"Oh! There you are, All Might!" Izuku stroked the feathers on his neck.

Shouto, Eijirou, Touya, and Himiko all gathered around the eagle to give him the love he deserved. All Might preened at the attention and Katsuki rolled his eyes. Not before snatching the figurine off the ground, of course.
