Chapter Text
Katarina and Jeord: Dearly Beloved
Only after Jeord’s eldest brother ascended the throne – and Jeord’s marriage would no longer be considered a bid for power – did the third prince once again bring up his engagement with Katarina. She nearly shut him down when she interpreted his request that she “find her own happiness” as a death threat, but Jeord soothed her worries with unexpected earnestness. It is said Katarina eventually responded, “I am not unhappy with our current arrangement,” prompting a shout of surprise so loud all members of the Royal Family claimed to have heard it despite being in various places on the estate. They married swiftly, and were overjoyed at the birth of their daughter Anna, who had both her mother’s smile and her father’s keen wit.
