When Katsuki looked at his wrist on the day of the entrance exam, he frowned. If his calculations were right, his timer would reach 0 hours, 0 minutes, 0 seconds that day, and it made him feel more anxious than he wanted to admit. After swearing for some minutes in front of the mirror, he pulled down his school blazer’s sleeve, and hurried down to have some breakfast. He didn’t really want to eat anything, but his mother insisted on it – with both words and actions.
”Ah, Katsuki, you’re here!” His father greeted him with a kind, but kind of worried smile. Great way to hep ease anxiety.
”Pops,” Katsuki greeted back before sitting down. A second later he felt a light his on the back of his head before a plate of pancakes – with Nutella, his favorite type – appeared in front of him.
”Be more respectful, brat,” Mitsuki chided her son half-heartedly.
Katsuki glared at him before digging in his food. Sadly, he was so preoccupied with his food he didn’t realize his sleeve sliding up slightly. It was his mother’s gasp that grabbed his attention.
”I can’t believe it! My baby will find his soulmate today!” She said with real affection in her voice. Katsuki felt his cheeks heating up, grumping about his mother being embarrassing as shit.
”She’s been waiting for this day since the day you were born,” Masaru remembered with a fond smile on his lips. Katsuki saw how his mother’s ears turned a bright red, and she mumbled the same words he did just a few seconds ago. Somehow, it made his anxiety decrease.
That state, however, lasted only till he reached the building of U.A.. His anxiety came back with such force he even ignored Deku, only barking at him to stay out of his way. The situation was the same during Present Mic’s speech. The nerd was geeking out beside him, but instead blowing his face off, Katsuki only growled at him to shut up. He really hoped that blowing up some robots would be helpful.
Thankfully, he was right. As soon as the exam started, blowing off the metal fuckers took every small bit of his attention, so he didn’t have time to worry. From the destruction he had done, he knew he was the one with the most points – just like it should be.
After they were le out from Ground Beta, Katsuki was standing with his hands resting on his knees, trying to catch his breath. After the adrenaline wore off, he started to feel his fatigue catching up to him. He heard nearing footsteps from behind, and turned around, and what he saw took his breath away.
”Hey, man! You were totally cool out there!” The black haired beauty behind him said with enthusiasm. Katsuki had to blink a few time just to be sure he was real. He barely processed the quiet beeping sound coming from his timer.
