Work Text:
Jotaro sighed in relief. After nearly five weeks of searching in South America he was able to return to Japan and be with Kakyoin. Not that he was worried, after all the assistants of the Speedwagon foundation were watching over him and helping him with any eventuality, but he missed being a little alone with Kakyoin. Also, he knew that once returned all the assistants would leave Kakyoin's care to him personally, bringing back the tranquility and silence that always reigned in their home, as neither of them liked to make any noisy activity and they passed their days listening to music together at low volume while Jotaro worked or read novels aloud to Kakyoin. He was the happiest man in the world.
When he reached the house he was not surprised to find in front of the building some Speedwagon vehicles with some assistants talking to each other or carrying boxes inside and outside the house. When they saw him, they all turned to him and greeted him warmly. "Good afternoon, everyone."
One of them, holding various documents, approached him smiling and Jotaro returned the smile. After discussing and signing some papers, the assistant adjusted his cap and went to warn his colleagues that they could leave. While they were making their way to the vehicles, Jotaro thanked them as they passed outside the gate, then closed it as soon as all the vehicles left, silencing all the hustle and bustle that was there until some minutes before.
He turned to the house, and felt his body warm up in trepidation. He strode across the gravel path to the wooden stairs leading to the door, and exhaled loudly before turning the handle down and entering the house. He slowly inhaled the familiar smell of the room, then looked around. Everything was perfectly arranged, except for a book left on the table. He walked over to arrange it neatly in the bookcase full of books that Jotaro had reread many times to Kakyoin and couldn't help but laugh to notice that he was reading -or better, someone was reading to him- 'The Stand' by Stephen King. Sometimes that boy could really be incredible. Once he was put away he looked around. He had forgotten to ask the assistants where he was. Before he could start calling him, he heard a "Jotaro, I'm here!" Echoing from the bathroom. Hearing the voice of her beloved Jotaro, he felt her heart tighten and he literally ran out of instinct to the bathroom door, half open. Kakyoin was sitting on the edge of the bathtub still wet at the edges in his bathrobe, with a towel rubbing through his hair. Without stopping to dry himself with the towel, he began to speak in a low voice: "The assistants have informed me of your arrival." and then chuckled "And the complete silence gave me confirmation."
Jotaro couldn't help but let out a laugh, and then sit next to him shaking the towel over his head to let him know he wanted to.
"What a gentleman," Kakyoin blushed as he raised his gaze for the first time. Since he had just washed, he did not have the bandage over his eyes, which he usually wore as soon as he finished dressing and, besides that, he took it off when he went to sleep. Jotaro spent several seconds watching his eyes shine, his purple irises like amethysts completely empty, as after some time his pupils had dilated and cleared until they were almost invisible. When Kakyoin turned slightly to Jotaro, he made a surprised soft sound and continued to dry.
"Hey Jotaro, I missed you."
Jotaro pulled off the towel, thinking it was time to use the blow dryer, and leaned forward to the cabinet above the sink to get a comb and blow dryer.
"Oh yeah? Then give me a welcome back kiss." he challenged.
Without thinking twice, Kakyoin reached for his face with both hands and squeezing it, stroking with his thumbs, pushed his lips against his gently. Jotaro, with his free arm, contoured his waist and brought him closer. He felt Kakyoin's smile and then step back slightly, to sit him back down.
"I missed you too, Kakyoin."
While Jotaro arranged everything Kakyoin remained there, looking at the void and swaying his head while humming a song. The other stopped for a moment to look at him smile; Kakyoin was really handsome. He still remembers their first days of acquaintance, where they had immediately entered into a good relationship and Jotaro highly esteemed him. He never expected to end up falling in love with him, yet now he was there to admire his beauty in secret.
"Hey smart guy, I can't see, but I know you're looking at me." Jotaro jumped slightly, immediately averting his gaze.
"I- um..." then he relaxed, realizing he didn't have to worry about something like that. "Yes, I was actually. You're handsome."
Kakyoin turned blushing towards him, motioning him to come closer and smiling.
"I bet you are too." and he corrected himself "I mean, I know you are the most handsome man on earth, but it's been years now and sometimes I just wish I could see you again to see how much you've changed."
Jotaro felt guilty. Maybe he shouldn't have talked about it, even though Kakyoin's maturity had made him quickly recover from the accident and then his blindness wasn't a problem for him.
Jotaro had changed a lot in those years, but so did Kakyoin. The features of both were less pronounced and smiling often had a more relaxed expression.
Kakyoin, feeling an awkward silence, sensed the potential discomfort Jotaro might have at that moment and, as usual, he gave off his warm laugh as he put a hand in his damp hair: "Can you please finish drying my hair? So we can cuddle on the sofa and you can tell me everything about your trip. You know I love hearing you talking." Jotaro relaxed immediately and turned on the hairdryer. In a few minutes, between slight curses from Jotaro who tried to fix Kakyoin's tuft with the comb, refusing any help that was offered to him and laughter, Kakyoin just had to get dressed and put on the bandage, then he was ready.
"Here you are, I've finished."
"Thanks, Jotaro. The Speedwagon assistants should have already arranged my clothes and the bandage in our room, would you go get them for me?"
"Sure." and as he passed he gave him another kiss.
When he returned to the bathroom, Kakyoin had already taken off his bathrobe and was rubbing it on his shoulders to dry some areas of the skin that had remained damp. Jotaro, admiring the perfect body of his beloved, left the clothes there and warned him: "Tell me when you are done that I will take care of the bandage, ok?"
"Sure, Jotaro.", turning around with his beautiful eyes.
After a few minutes, where Jotaro looked around the house to see if there was something different or new with his curiosity that led him to observe every shelf and box, he heard the bathroom door open and Kakyoin took a few uncertain steps leaning against the jamb of the door. He immediately walked towards him taking his arm and carrying it on his shoulders, and then taking him around his waist with his hand running on his hip. Kakyoin handed him a long bandage and without losing an opportunity to show his face to Jotaro, he buried his face between Jotaro's shoulder and neck, muttering: "Let's go to the sofa and put the bandage on me."
Jotaro silently agreed and, sitting on the sofa still with Kakyoin leaning against him, grabbed him at the tight waist with his hands and gently placed him on his lap, facing him. Kakyoin lowered his face slightly and then felt the bandage rotate gently around his face a few times, until he felt Jotaro pulling and the heat he felt around his head from Jotaro's strong arms disappeared after he tied the knot behind his head. Even though Jotaro was truly disappointed that he could no longer see his beautiful eyes, he was finally able to hug him and Kakyoin melted in his grip by resting his head on his shoulder.
"I love you, Jotaro."
"You've already said that."
"Can't I say that twice?"
"Of course you can, but now I want cuddles."
"You are an hopeless romantic."
