yoongi and jeongguk walked into the supermarket, waving at hoseok who was standing by around the register. it was after lunch time and the supermarket was pretty quiet. yoongi preferred to go then so they practically had the whole store for themselves.
they walked around the store, picking up meat and vegetables to cook with, some household items and cleaning supplies, and then ended up at the snack aisle.
"okay, you can pick one snack," yoongi said to jeongguk as they walked up the snack aisle. "let me know which one you want."
jeongguk went to browse the savoury snacks while yoongi watched in amusement. he finally settled for a share bag of potato sticks snack.
"dis?" he asked as he turned towards yoongi.
"okay, but you can only eat a small bag a day, okay?"
jeongguk nodded in agreement, then turned back to look at the price tag and furrowed his brows in confusion.
"remember we don't look at the numbers behind the dot, baby."
"oh!" jeongguk exclaimed, then focused on only the first two numbers. the share bag was a bulk size, even bigger than a family size, but jeongguk really liked the potato sticks so yoongi was okay with buying it even though it cost more than twelve dollars because he knew it would end up all eaten.
"wan," jeongguk said as he pointed at the first number, then turned to look at yoongi for confirmation. he raised his index finger. "wan hug!"
"correct."
"too?" jeongguk asked as he pointed at the second number and checked with yoongi as well. he counted his fingers and lifted two fingers up. "too kis!"
"that's right, baby."
jeongguk toddled over towards yoongi, dragging the bag of snack. he put the bag of snack in their basket and gave yoongi two kisses before wrapping his arms around yoongi's neck and cuddling him.
"are you recording this?" yoongi asked in amusement when he saw hoseok standing close by with his phone directed at them.
"if i don't share this, jiminie is going to hunt me down," hoseok said as he laughed, although he stopped recording and shared the video in the group chat.
"so how does this work?" hoseok asked curiously, watching the two who were still hugging.
"ah, i was teaching him how to count. he can count up to five now but still with a bit of difficulty," yoongi said. "then i thought, maybe i should have him know that things he wants has a price so he can appreciate them more."
"so, every dollar is worth one kiss, and we call it the kiss number. the tens of dollar is worth a five minute hug session."
"that's the cutest currency ever."
"i know, right. it wasn't even my idea. i taught him which numbers were which so he could tell which ones are more expensive," yoongi said, nuzzling jeongguk's head slightly. "he wanted to pay me back somehow, and i told him that he already has a very important job."
"to cuddle?" hoseok asked teasingly.
"to be cute and give me a hug whenever i want," yoongi confirmed with a laugh. "i think that's how he came up with the idea of the hugs and kisses."
jimin barged in through the supermarket door while yoongi and jeongguk was at the cash register, and just when the five minutes were up.
"min!" jeongguk greeted as he waved at jimin who hurried over towards them and picked jeongguk up from the counter.
"ah, cute baby, how are you doing today?"
"did you come here because of the video?" yoongi asked.
"of course!" jimin said. "he gets cuter every day, doesn't he?"
"i guess that means he gets better and better at his job."
yoongi and hoseok laughed while jimin looked at them in confusion and jeongguk simply continued cuddling jimin.
