Work Text:
The problem, that Namjoon realized, with Yoongi’s restaurant was that it should have been some kind of illegal. Firstly, one meal had such crude amounts grease and butter and fat packed in, that you could ingest enough calories to sustain a small village in one sitting.
Secondly, it was so outrageously delicious and addicting that it should have been classified as a drug, given how helpless you were to its vices once you’d gotten your first taste, nothing ever compared.
He didn’t think Yoongi ever realized that every customer was a “regular”, because they couldn’t stay away for long. They always came back. First taste, you wanted more. You’d hold off until the next time you’d go out to eat, and you’d come back. Then, you’d find yourself craving the food constantly. Next, you’d show up as often as possible. Until you wanted nothing but Yoongi’s food. The more dedicated ones would go there for every meal, and, after some time, Namjoon could see it.
With time, every customer became a dedicated customer.
Even the most finicky of health-nuts, those with the strongest wills, they would all give in sooner or later.
One man, Namjoon knew very well this was the case for.
His name was Jungkook. When Yoongi’s restaurant was just starting out, he was their first customer. They had opened in a small building, placed neatly beside a gym, so understaffed that Namjoon was still taking orders. Jungkook would walk in after his workout, only asking for a sweet tea, sit at the bar for a few minutes, and then leave. This went on for a few weeks, but eventually Namjoon was so grateful for his patronage that he gave him a small to-go bag as thanks the next time he showed.
He didn’t know it then, but this one decision would change lives.
Jungkook came in the next day, raving about how amazing the food was, still sweaty from the gym, and asking for a second order. Namjoon smiled wildly, Yoongi was going to be so happy! The gym-goers that had visited only wanted the vegan options, the salads, the ice waters. Yoongi had been pouting about this, as these were his least-favorite meals to make. No artistic freedom at all. He gave Yoongi the news excitedly, and Yoongi decided to make the most out of it.
Despite Jungkook’s reluctance, as this meal was larger than the last, he finished it with gusto. The place was mostly empty save for Jungkook, so Namjoon noticed that he looked shocked that his plate was empty.
Jungkook showed up the next day, cheeks familiarly flushed, ordering the same thing.
Then, the next day, he showed, seemingly fresh, and earlier than usual. He’d explained he wanted something quick before his workout. Namjoon had sent him off with a plate of waffles, that he’d quickly scarfed down, looking as if he was breaking a rule of sorts, given how giddy he was.
Then, not a few hours later, he returned. He wanted lunch, now. Namjoon made this one on the house, given how he’d been here once already. He ordered the “Whole Hog Burger”, as it was so accurately named. It was stuffed with a pound of meat, bacon between the patties, a thick special sauce between each layer. It was huge, but Namjoon knew weight lifters such as Jungkook needed that kind of protein. Well, it was less protein than it was pure fat, and totaled at around 3 and a half thousand calories, but there was no way Jungkook could have known that, and Namjoon wasn’t going to be stopping him anytime soon.
After a week or so of Jungkook frequenting more and more often, orders getting progressively larger, Namjoon couldn’t help but gawk at Jungkook as he walked through the door.
Namjoon had no idea how it worked. Maybe Yoongi was some kind of magic. Maybe he was just born with this talent- maybe his place was cursed. But, if Namjoon’s eyes weren’t lying to him, then there was no conceivable way this was natural.
Jungkook wasn’t in his usual workout outfit. He walked in excitedly, around the time for breakfast, in a comfortable outfit, and Namjoon could see why.
His shirt stretched around his midsection, and Namjoon saw bright as day that he was getting a belly, not a little pudge, but a genuine chubby belly. His thighs were noticeably thicker, his face a little rounder. His formerly toned biceps were covered in a thick layer of fat, and even his defined pecs had grown soft and puffy. This was a stark difference to the eight-pack Jungkook was originally sporting around the restaurant.
He wasn’t sweaty, meaning he hadn’t even gone on his usual morning jog. Namjoon tried his best to keep his composure, as he took his order, this one larger than the last, as each one had been. Jungkook sat down, hips and thighs taking up more space than Namjoon remembered, and devoured his meal.
Namjoon couldn’t fathom how this had happened. It had only been a few weeks of serving Jungkook their main menu, how could this have happened?
He’d began quickly jotting down Jungkook’s orders from then on, adding up the calories in his head, watching as each time Jungkook had walked in he looked even heavier than the last.
Eventually, Jungkook never showed up in workout clothes again. He never saw him walk to the right once he was out of the building, where the gym was ever again. But he did still show up with flushed cheeks, as soon he showed up at what must have been 200 pounds heavier than when he first arrived, overly exerted from just the walk to the restaurant.
Jungkook didn’t eat all 3 meals of the day there, though, no, Namjoon couldn’t say that’s what happened.
What happened was, Jungkook began eating what must have been all 8 meals of the day, as time went on. Although Yoongi had never formally met the boy, he received countless “compliments to the chef” from him, and he was his favorite customer. Yoongi made even larger portions for him each time he came, just as a thanks.
Namjoon had to alter his calculations for that, but what he found was shocking.
The boy was averaging out at 60,000 calories a day.
He did even more math- redid the calculations, and did them again. After a week more, a week! Only a week- Jungkook was averaging at 72,000 daily.
Then, one day, Jungkook had showed up with his boyfriend, one Namjoon recognized as Jungkook’s former physical trainer, from the neighboring gym.
Namjoon expected to get yelled at- to get told to shut down, to stop serving Jungkook, only for the man, he’d come to know as Hoseok, to ask for a table for two.
Namjoon watched, intrigued by the couple during a boring shift, as Jungkook ordered a worryingly large amount of food, on top of the lunch he already had.
Then, an epiphany came as he saw Hoseok sit beside Jungkook, rub his belly tenderly, and feed him plate after plate.
Oh! He thought, he knew this. He’d been on the internet before- Hoseok must have been one of those chubby chasers, or whatever they were called. Namjoon’s curiosity was satisfied with that answer, until, the next week, at dinner, Hoseok took a bite of his own food, a single order of chicken katsu, which, was a normally healthy choice, but The Main Menu had no healthy choices, and he had no idea what he was getting into.
He attempted to eat at a normal pace, as he’d seen Jungkook do initially, but eventually he just scarfed down the plate passionately. Good to know even the health nuts enjoyed the fatty food, thought Namjoon, worries eased.
If Hoseok was into bigger guys, then it made sense why Jungkook ballooned like that, and Yoongi’s specialty food wasn’t the problem. A weight lifted from his shoulders as he watched the happy couple enjoy their meal.
It didn’t last long.
It took less than a week, this time for Namjoon to notice, maybe due to seeing them multiple times a day. Hoseok had lost his dainty, stringy muscle and was now nothing else but pudgy. Namjoon tried to offer them both the vegan menu, knowing what was going to happen to them, but they insisted on getting as much as they could order from The Main Menu. Namjoon watched, shocked at their appetites.
Then, it happened again. Hoseok showed up every time Jungkook did, and as Jungkook gained more and more weight, so did Hoseok, with a pace surpassing Jungkook’s initial rate.
With time, the couple became far past obese.
Then, they invited an entire group of their friends, a celebration, he assumed, and soon Namjoon watched as each of them returned, and succumbed to the same fate. Fatter every time.
But Namjoon remained in denial. It was probably just his imagination, maybe they were all just part of a club, or something. It was none of his business. And it was impossible that it was entirely Yoongi’s fault.
Then, Kim Seokjin came in, asking for one of each item on the Main Menu.
The Kim Seokjin. As in, the world’s top food critic, and most eligible bachelor.
He was notorious for his brutally honest reviews, if he didn’t like what he ate he didn’t lie, and whoever had supplied the subpar meal would soon shut down, as nobody would go to any restaurant Kim Seokjin didn’t approve of.
That wasn’t the only thing he was notorious for, though, as he often modeled for fitness and health magazines. He had a beautiful figure and an even more beautiful face, and even as a man with his appetite, his metabolism was as fast as a bullet, and he didn’t have an ounce of fat on him despite his line of work.
Namjoon watched with baited breath as the man took his first bite, jotting down his thoughts while nodding in approval, already swallowing a second bite.
Namjoon wasn’t too surprised that he had finished each meal, knowing fully well how shocking his appetite was, even if the portions were unrealistically large. But what did shock him was that he called Namjoon back, and, despite obviously being overly full, asked for a second order.
Namjoon wasn’t shocked to see that Kim Seokjin had given them a great review, as he was very proud of Yoongi’s talents, but he, and Yoongi, were ecstatic when they were published. Apparently he had enjoyed their food so much, he claimed they were the most underrated restaurant in Korea, and they took the cake for the best meal he’d ever eaten. Yoongi had cried tears of joy that day, and while Namjoon was equally, if not more elated, there was a tinge of anticipation under it all. He would only have to wait and see.
Before Namjoon knew it, the restaurant expanded, along with the customers, and new locations opened up. Larger buildings, most equipped with a buffet option, larger, sturdier chairs, that they started using once Jungkook had left one splintered under his weight.
Kim Seokjin had begun frequenting the original location, however, which was the worst decision he could have made.
Yoongi himself, Namjoon learned, was the key to all of this. Although the other locations were extremely popular, it was unanimously decided that the food made by the man himself was the true delicacy. Yoongi had a secret to his food that not even Namjoon knew, which made the original location the most popular.
Eventually, it hit the news that Kim Seokjin was retiring, as he no longer had a passion for food.
The media latched onto his retirement, and the world watched as Kim Seokjin changed.
“Looks like he didn’t lose a love for food, at least!” They’d quip, as the notoriously thin man became fatter than anyone could have predicted.
But what he had left out was that he still had a passion for Yoongi’s food, and his alone.
Namjoon looked out to the restaurant. It was packed, not a single person who wasn’t overweight, if not increasingly obese.
He’d done even more research- and found that the other locations weren’t showing the same results at all. He’d visited the others, shocked to see that most of the customers could be considered chubby, the recipes only adding some weight to them, not nearly as addictive or fattening as the originals.
This was all the proof Namjoon needed to draw the conclusion that Yoongi had this magic touch, if not a dangerous one, one that was the sole cause of all this. And yet, his husband remained obvious to it all.
So in a way, Namjoon was relieved Yoongi was no longer cooking for the masses, retired and satisfied with his career and fortune.
Except, now, Namjoon was his main target.
-
“Hyung, I made omelettes.” He called, his sleepy husband rubbing his eyes before sitting at their table and digging in.
“Mm, it’s been a while, huh?” He asked, hand reaching over to hold Namjoon’s.
“You read my mind.” Namjoon smiled, cupping his cheek lovingly. Slow mornings like these were a 180 from their normal 4 am alarms and thorough kitchen clean ups. It had taken some time getting used to.
“I kinda miss the place. I wonder how my Jungkookie’s doing.” Pouts Yoongi around another bite of eggs, Namjoon sighing sympathetically.
Yoongi had remained very attached to his favorite customer, and even once compared it to “feeling like a father watching his son eat”. He knew Yoongi had a very odd way of showing affection, but he wished it wasn’t so damaging to waistlines. It was a little too late for him, anyways.
“You can always invite him and Hobi over for dinner.” He offered.
Yoongi pouted, dropping his fork. “It’s not the same.” He could tell his eyes were getting glossy.
“Oh honey, what is it?” Cooed Namjoon, reaching over to pull the shorter male into his arms.
“I dunno, I kinda feel like I’ve lost my purpose now. You’re always the one cooking, and I haven’t even touched an ingredient since i retired. I guess maybe I need to try cooking again.” He made eyes at Namjoon, who fiddled hesitantly for a moment.
“Why don’t we drop off some food for all of your favorite customers? I know Seokjin hyung’s missed your cooking the most. We haven’t visited him or Jimin in some time. Our neighbors might appreciate some food from a world-renowned chef as well!”
Yoongi didn’t seem satisfied with that answer, but nodded in agreement nonetheless.
Yoongi had spent the next few weeks waking up, packing sizable lunches for their close friends and art-student neighbor, who seemed to appreciate the food so much more than they expected. From the look of his somewhat chubby cheeks and the Yoongi-brand cookbooks Namjoon had spotted on his dining table, he probably was more familiar with Yoongi’s food than they’d thought.
It warmed his heart, despite the trepidation he felt by... influencing another person with Yoongi’s food. The chubbier cheeks he observed in the following weeks, and the new cookbooks had only solidified Namjoon’s suspicions. It was far too late to worry about this, however, and he delivered the lunches too him with just as much enthusiasm as ever.
Yoongi’s spirits seemed to raise as he fell back into his old ways of cooking large portions and watched his friends enjoy his food and visited more often, but often they’d offer him bites of it and he’d brush them off, muttering something about pro chefs not needing to taste their dishes in order to know they’re good. His gluttonous companions were satisfied with having more to themselves anyways.
Namjoon continued to cook for himself and Yoongi, and this routine seemed to work for some time.
That is, until their anniversary came.
-
“Oh, Yoongi, you shouldn’t have...” you really shouldn’t have, thought Namjoon, as Yoongi beamed at him before a romantic candle lit dinner, the food no doubt prepared by Yoongi. Namjoon gulped nervously as he sat down.
Yoongi dug in, excited to try his own cooking for once, and Namjoon just stared at the food placed before him. He wouldn’t say he was scared, just... wary.
Yoongi was eyeing him skeptically, with a hint of insecurity. That was more than enough to give Namjoon the push to lift his fork to his mouth.
It was delicious, but Namjoon wasn’t surprised. He saw what delicious food did to people. He ate robotically, as if scared that if he let go he’d sentence himself to Jungkook’s fate.
It was just a plate of spaghetti, nothing more. “It’s not an item from the main menu, it’s just normal cooking with normal store-bought ingredients, you’ll be fine”Namjoon thought to himself, trying to relax.
He breathed in deeply, before finishing his plate. Despite his internal turmoil, he had to admit it was the best meal he’d eaten in a while. He was tempted to ask for seconds, but he knew better than to allow himself to do that. Yoongi still seemed sad, and excused himself to their shared bed while the night was still young. Namjoon washed the dishes with a guilty feeling in his stomach.
-
He woke up the next morning with the smell of bacon and pancakes in the air, and Yoongi missing from their bed. Namjoon drowsily moved from their bed and creeped into the kitchen cautiously. He caught a glimpse of Yoongi sat at their table, and the sound of silverware so Namjoon deducted he had made breakfast for himself. He sighed, relieved, and made himself a cup of coffee.
“What are you doing?” Asked Yoongi from the kitchen doorway, Namjoon inhaling the hot drink and coughing it up in surprise.
Yoongi stood with crossed arms, a hurt expression on his face, Namjoon’s own looking puzzled.
“Having breakfast...?” He confirmed cautiously. Yoongi’s arms dropped, hurt expression falling and being replace with one of concern.
“Oh, Joonie... why don’t you come have some of the breakfast I made you, hm?” He suggested, eyes much warmer than they were a moment ago. Namjoon gulped nervously, letting the shorter man guide him to their dining table. Yoongi smiled brightly again, serving him a stack of pancakes and a few strips of the bacon he’d smelled earlier, and pushed a few donuts onto the side of his plate for good measure.
Yoongi had already finished his own breakfast, so he sat with his hands under his chin watching Namjoon eat. Under such observation, Namjoon awkwardly began eating, trying not to dwell on how soft and fluffy and sweet the pancakes were, how perfectly cooked the bacon was. He soon dropped his fork, satisfied with half his plate left, in fact he was feeling quite overfull. Yoongi stared some more.
“Oh, I’m full.” Namjoon offered, Yoongi raising an unimpressed brow at him.
“I ate more than you did.” Yoongi prompted, even reaching for a donut as if to emphasize his point. Namjoon nodded, confused.
“We’re retired, and, you know...” Yoongi trailed off, expecting Namjoon to understand.
Namjoon wasn’t quite there yet.
He wasn’t sure why Yoongi kept fixating on Namjoon’s portions, or why he was eating so much himself, but he did know he was definitely doing something wrong. He stared back at him, at his unfinished plate, and then back at Yoongi who had crossed his arms once again, looking away. Oh no. That couldn’t be good.
Maybe Yoongi was worried Namjoon didn’t like his food. Just because Namjoon was terrified of it didn’t mean he wasn’t enamored with it. Namjoon gave Yoongi a smile that showed he understood, and finished off his plate. Yoongi gestured expectantly at the donuts. Namjoon stuffed them down, wincing as he moved. He was far too stuffed for post-breakfast dessert, but at least Yoongi was smiling again. He’d make sure to compliment his cooking more often.
-
“I dunno Seokjinnie... he hasn’t even asked me to cook for him since we’ve retired. Maybe he thinks I’m bad at it...” he pouted, resting his head on Seokjin’s dining room table. Seokjin and his broad, chubby shoulders emerged from the doorway, holding a tray filled with sweets and cakes. He had already eaten Yoongi’s lunchbox, but a man his size was never simply full after a meal, hence the snacks. Yoongi gladly devoured the little cakes, still pouting.
“Ah, young love, always so complicated. There’s no way he doesn’t like your food, Yoongi, you’re literally a professional chef. It doesn’t get much better than that.” He said around a mouthful of cake, rounded belly resting on his kitchen counter as he raided his cupboards.
“Have you had lunch yet, Yoongi? You’re looking thin lately.” He fretted, Yoongi popping another little cake into his mouth. He shook his head no, and Seokjin gasped in shock, already dialing for pizza.
“Who knows, maybe you and Namjoon have gotten too used to your frugal ways of eating.” He observed. Yoongi stilled, considering it for a moment. His eating habits haven’t really changed since college, now that he thinks about it. Running a restaurant was stressful, and he didn’t really have time to cook him or namjoon extravagent meals before, either. Seokjin sighed.
“I know you guys used to struggle a lot, but you’ve retired now! You’re successful- you can afford to relax. Don’t waste away on me now! Who else will cook tasty lunches for me!” He pinched Yoongi’s cheeks, Yoongi giggling at his protective tendencies.
“You’re probably right. I’ll take better care of myself, promise.” He grinned, eating another little cake to prove his point. Seokjin’s chubby cheeks and double chin puffed out as he smiled proudly.
When the pizza arrived, Yoongi let Seokjin talk him into finishing one whole large
Pizza, and despite needing to lie down on his couch afterwards, he felt more satisfied after that meal than he had in a long time.
He needed to make sure Namjoon could relax like this too.
——-
When Yoongi had retired after years of non-stop working, Namjoon expected him to relax in many ways.
Stop cooking as often, stop waking up so early, maybe stop being as stressed as he always was, but what he hadn’t expected was... this.
Namjoon had shuffled into their kitchen, Yoongi cooking breakfast as he hummed and swayed his hips softly, obviously in a good mood. A familiar sight- except, Yoongi was pounds and pounds heavier than he had ever been. A softer jawline, fatter cheeks, puffy round arms pinched in a tighter t shirt, an apron digging into the pudgy beginnings of what looked like would soon be a roll of fat on his side, accentuating the round slope of his little starter-belly, hips wider and butt far more plush and round than ever.
Namjoon blushed wildly, as he had been doing quite a lot lately. He sat at their dining table, watching the way Yoongi’s thighs wobbled each time he moved across the kitchen. He watched eagerly as Yoongi nibbled and snacked on various ingredients, as well as retrieving a slice of cake from their fridge as a waiting-for-the-food-to-cook snack. Namjoon melted from fondness.
Yoongi looked positively precious like this. His chubby cheeks were the cutest thing he’d ever seen, and cuddling with such a plush body had Namjoon getting better sleep than ever.
He had trouble denying him most anything nowadays. Even just yesterday, he’d asked Namjoon to give him a back massage, no doubt caused by the new weight of his belly, even though Namjoon was in the middle of cleaning their kitchen. He looked over to where Yoongi was resting- lying on the couch on his back, belly up and cheeks looking even fatter when he pouted. Namjoon immediately caved, and spent the rest of the evening trying to make it seem as if he was still massaging his back when he moved to cop a feel of his back rolls.
Yoongi served their breakfast, noticeably larger than it had been even a few weeks ago. If Namjoon’s hypothesis was correct, Yoongi’s accelerating weight gain could have only been caused by his own cooking- most likely from his outings with his former customers. That was the main reason Namjoon had elected to stay at home for these- Yoongi’s food in this setting was far too dangerous. He wasn’t sure what would happen if he was pressured into trying something from the main menu. He was just playing it safe.
Yoongi served him a large plate of potatoes and bacon, sausage and bagels as well as a container of baked goods he knew wasn’t Yoongi’s. He looked up questioningly.
“Taehyungie from next door made these from my cookbook! He’s the sweetest, isn’t he?” He beamed. Namjoon kisses Yoongi’s chubby cheek.
“Not as sweet as you.” He cooed, pinching the aforementioned cheek lovingly. Yoongi brought up a cupcake to Namjoon’s mouth, and he dutifully bit into it. Definitely not up to Yoongi’s par, but it was pretty good. Good enough to eat, at least, he thought as Yoongi fed him a second one.
He swallowed a third before Yoongi pouted about getting jealous, and shoved one of his own cupcakes into his mouth. Namjoon melted, moaning as he chewed the fluffy cake. Yoongi blushed.
“You’re so talented, hyung,” he reached for another from Yoongi’s batch. “Is this a new recipe?”
Namjoon knew the older preferred cooking to baking by far, so it was odd he’d make new recipes for a cupcake he’d already perfected. Yoongi nodded proudly.
“You really like ‘em?” He asked shyly, hands nervously rubbing his belly. Cute.
“I love them. I could eat a million.”
“Go ahead and eat the rest, hyung will make more.” He smiled, blushing. Namjoon hoped there wasn’t much left from the first batch- he was sure this breakfast would leave his pretty full already.
Thankfully he was able to pack away the wonderful spread Yoongi had prepared with little difficulty, and he hurried to polish off the cupcakes as he watched Yoongi finish preparing the second batch. He was stuffed, but he’d do it for Yoongi. Yoongi gladly fed him another cupcake.
-
“Wah, Yoongi hyung’s so small, huh?” Jungkook cooed playfully, his large belly pressed against their kitchen table. Hoseok leaned down to kiss his cheek, filling his plate with more lasagna. Hoseok waddled to fetch another container of lasagna for himself, and a third for Yoongi. Yoongi thanked him for the meal and heartily began eating.
“It always shocks me how impervious you are to your craft, hyung! I thought the saying said not to trust a thin chef?” Teased Hoseok, leaning over the table, belly peaking out from his sweater as he moved to pile more pasta onto Yoongi and Jungkook’s plates. Jungkook was too focused on shoveling food into his mouth to care much about conversation.
“Seriously, how can you resist? If I were you, I’d be the size of a whale by now.”
“Ah, I don’t make my own recipes often enough I suppose. I’m taking a break from most of my typical restaurant work.” He supplied, Hoseok gasping.
“You have access to Min Yoongi’s finest meals 24/7 and you choose not to eat them? That’s blasphemous!” He accused, affronted.
“I would, but when I cook I cook for Joonie too, and he doesn’t seem too interested in my restaurant style food...” he reflected on the time he’d brought a to-go box home for Namjoon and him to share, only for Namjoon to go pale and make the excuse that he’d already eaten. Yoongi threw it away, and spent the rest of the afternoon pouting. It had left a sore spot in Yoongi’s pride for some time, and he remained hesitant to serve him anything of the sort since.
Jungkook suddenly looked solemn, taking a break from his eating.
“Hyung, are you serious? I’ll be your husband instead if he’s not going to appreciate your art for what it is!” He huffed, Hoseok squawking at him for implying he’d leave him for Yoongi.
“Hobi don’t even try me, you’d leave me for Yoongi’s food, too.” Hoseok hardly had anything to object with, and nodded guiltily. Yoongi blushed.
“You guys...”
“In any matter, he’s your husband! He should appreciate you and your passions. Especially if they taste as good as yours.” He said with finality, piling more pasta onto Yoongi’s emptying plate. Yoongi ate the rest of the meal with thoughts of his own menu going through his head.
-
Namjoon awoke to the prettiest sight.
Yoongi rested atop him, double chin emphasized as he gazed down at him, rounder belly resting on Namjoon as he straddled him, kissing a drowsy Namjoon’s sensitive neck.
Namjoon rubbed the sleep from his eyes, Yoongi leaning forward to kiss the sleepy pout from his lips
Suddenly, Yoongi was pressing food into Namjoon’s mouth, and by reflex Namjoon had bit down into it. The flavor of meat, cheese, and grease flooded his taste buds, moaning around the bite. Yoongi looked pleased as Namjoon opened his mouth for more, and Yoongi quickly shoved the rest in. It was quite large for one bite, and Namjoon struggled to swallow it down.
Yoongi kissed the grease from his lips, feeding him a second one, then a third, and a fourth, and Namjoon’s stomach was begging for more. This time Yoongi was pushing a different food, some kind of gooey, thick pasta with meat in it. Namjoon wolfed down the pasta, senses filled with nothing but good food. His stomach groaned, belly pushing forward, and Yoongi patted it sympathetically before tucking the food away and rubbing his stomach soothingly. Namjoon fell asleep, his last thoughts filled with bloated tummies and cravings for more.
To Yoongi, it was their new, romantic morning routine.
To Namjoon, it was a reoccuring dream he would eagerly look forward to for the following weeks.
-
Namjoon couldn’t stop eating.
Yoongi would set out the portions for the both of them, and Namjoon would pack away more than Yoongi could expect, and he’d started having to increase his meal sizes, astoundingly. It’d leave Namjoon breathing heavily, feeling like he’d swallowed a rock, but he’d still ask for more.
Yoongi seemed happier than ever, and suddenly he was all over Namjoon. Always cooking for him, always feeding him, always feeling him up, constantly initiating the hottest make out sessions he’d ever had, usually stuffing a donut into Namjoon’s mouth when they broke apart for air.
Namjoon couldn’t help his appetite, and kept requesting Yoongi special meals, and Yoongi would make far more than he’d ask for, Namjoon still dutifully shoveling it down, Yoongi having to care for him and rub his belly after each meal.
Namjoon always craved more, and Yoongi always provided. He provided exceptionally, making more food than Namjoon could eaten often times, and those were the times Namjoon wouldn’t be able to leave the dinner table to sink into the couch for a nap like he’d normally would. He’d groan in his seat and struggle to pack the rest away, refusing to insult Yoongi by leaving him food to packaway as “leftovers”- the concept was now foreign to their household.
Namjoon would sneak snacks before meals to avoid Yoongi’s chastising by “spoiling his appetite, as if he could possibly do that, twinkies and cupcakes and brownies Yoongi had planned to give to their friends.
Yoongi was acutely aware by the messy frosting on Namjoon’s cheeks that he’d been the culprit behind so many missing items, but he’d elected to just making more instead of calling him out on it. He’d let Namjoon have his secrets.
Namjoon was hooked. There was no going back.
-
“Ah, um... hyung, would you mind making some more? I woke up feeling a bit peckish...” he trailed off, embarrassed. He had already eaten quite a lot just for breakfast. Yoongi beamed at him, waddling off to the kitchen to make another handful of servings of carbonara. Yoongi elected to treat himself to something extra as well, and cut himself a few slices of cheesecake.
When he had returned, Namjoon was nearly drooling at the wafting aroma. It looked different from the last servings. Yoongi smiled, pouring more than half of their sizable pot of carbonara, and leaving the rest on the table.
Namjoon shoveled the rest of the carbonara away, burping shyly into his fist. It was so good, he just wanted more, despite his stomach’s resistance. He said so, and Yoongi poured the rest onto his large plate.
Namjoon panted as he finished the last portion. If he was being honest, he wanted to ask for more, but at this point it would be rude to ask Yoongi to get up again, especially when it took him so much effort to nowadays. Namjoon was only a little tempted to ask just so he could watch him heave himself up off his seat.
But he looked positively adorable enjoying his cheesecake, cheeks puffing out and belly now resting proudly on his lap. Namjoon wasn’t about to interrupt that.
He burped softly once more.
Yoongi’s gentle eyes met his, and he smiled, and heaved himself up to get something extra for Namjoon anyways. Score.
Namjoon looked down at himself, as his hands rested on his belly, in shock.
Holy hell, had he gotten fat.
He was admiring Yoongi’s softening form so intently that he’d forgotten to monitor his own. Alarm bells went off in his head, something like dread filling him, before something else, something more forbidden replaced it. His toned abdomen was gone, now a thick, heavy belly, resting proudly on thicker, wobbly thighs, that seemed to pool farther of his chair than Yoongi’s did. Something about that struck a chord in Namjoon.
Fuck, even his hands were fat. Everything about him was fat. He felt the fat on his chin smoosh into more fat, his own double chin more naturally prominent than even Yoongi’s, with his chubby, cute cute cute face.
In that moment, he felt like the epitome of gluttony. He was panting despite not having physically exerted himself since retirement, his stomach not even capable of digesting the fat and calories from his meal, and here he was, still begging for more. He wasn’t hungry for more- he was craving more, he wouldn’t be able to go about his day peacefully without indulging past his own limits.
He needed to feel too-full to feel satisfied, he realized belatedly, as Yoongi placed another plate of food before him, Namjoon’s blown pupils looking back at Yoongi’s calm ones. Namjoon gulped, looking down at the food.
“The Whole Hog Burger...” he muttered. Where it all began. He looked up at Yoongi once more, taking in all of his past-obese glory, and let his hands roam around his own thick love handles. Yoongi blushed as he watched him grope himself. Yoongi leaned forward, the rolls of chub on his belly folding endearingly as he did so, palming the crest of Namjoon’s fattest part of his belly, giving it a little shake, watching it wobble. He bit his lip, flushing a brighter red.
It’s not like he didn’t warn himself. He had known this was a long time coming.
-
Namjoon, reasonably did not trust Yoongi’s cooking.
Now, letting his husband make him eggs was a little different from devouring the lard-served-on-a-platter that Yoongi prepared in his restaurants, except in his research, he found something... intriguing, to say the least.

When Namjoon had done Jungkook’s math... none of it had made sense.
As in, given the calories he consumed each day, Jungkook should have never
ballooned at the rate he did. Maybe 50 grand was an overzealous serving of daily calories, but despite this, he gained more weight than science could explain.
Yeah, Namjoon, we knew that already. Super addictive, extra fat and grease, yada yada- but what surprised him the most was that although Jungkook was the first to truly experience the effects of the Main Menu, he wasn’t safe eating the other options either.
Namjoon didn’t pay as much attention to the other customers as he did Jungkook, but he’d be blind to notice how even the gym rats he served the vegan options to in the beginning were all looking less body-builder and more dad-bod as time went on. Eventually, the ones that didn’t end up succumbing to the claws of the Main Menu and get all fat and comfy like everyone else, would stop eating out altogether.
Like Jungkook, a man named Jimin encapsulated this perfectly.
Jimin was an adonis of sorts, albeit a little cocky. But how could you not have an inflated ego with a body like his- a powerhouse of toned muscle and shredded abs, no fat to be seen.
Namjoon hadn’t liked him at first, to be quite honest- he asked for his order, only for the man to go on a tangent about treating his body like a temple, and, “of course give me the tofu salad, I’m not like that fatty over there”, he’d scoff, gesturing to Jungkook would was more often than not in the middle of one of his feasts.
Namjoon bit back his anger- Jungkook was a very sweet boy, and didn’t deserve this mockery- and left to give the kitchen the order in a huff.
He couldn’t help but fixate on Jimin. Why show up so often just to snicker at the people you thought were beneath you? So he watched as time went on, as Jimin stopped ordering the tofu salad, his arms stopped looking so toned, the muscle looking only a little puffier, and started ordering a normal, bland salad with no dressing.
And then suddenly, Jimin stopped showing up altogether.
It wasn’t until another month that Jimin showed up, and when he did he looked... different. He sported a rounder tummy, chubby rolls getting pinched by his ill fitting clothes. He looked distraught, tears in his eyes, chubby cheeks flushing red, and went right up to the counter to ask Namjoon for his best recommendation.
Namjoon pulled him aside, he had a heart, after all, and Jimin cried all of his problems out to him.
His boyfriend was his gym buddy, and he made sure Jimin stuck to a rigorous exercise schedule and the strictest diet Namjoon had ever heard of. He was entirely controlling, manipulative, and he had fed Jimin nothing but lies and prejudices against heavier set people.
Jimin knew now that this was his way of controlling him, of making him insecure, but he didn’t know it then. He apologized for the things he said to Namjoon as he got to that part in his story, and of course Namjoon forgave him, the poor thing.
So when Jimin ended up putting on a few pounds, not much in any sense, his boyfriend wasn’t happy. Jimin stopped eating at Yoongi’s, and tried his best to lose the weight, but he couldn’t stop himself anymore.
He craved something- he had no idea what- and he tried to fill that craving the best he could, but nothing ever worked.
He tried protein, grain, carbs, then eventually taco bell, mcdonalds, pizza hut, gorged himself on everything on their menus and still he craved more.
His boyfriend broke up with him, but Jimin hardly cared. He was an asshole, anyways, but rather he just needed to fill this craving if it was the last thing he did.
It wasn’t an overwhelming need, not really. It was more of a nagging in the back of your head, an innocent craving, a signal your body wanted something, but it was the most frustrating thing Jimin had ever gone through.
Yoongi’s restaurant was his last choice- he’d pushed it far to the back of his head, he was so fat now he was humiliated to sit there as one of the people he mocked- and if this wasn’t the answer then he didn’t know what he’d do.
Namjoon sighed at that, pensive. He’d failed to consider the danger of Yoongi’s more innocent food. This was a mistake on his part.
Any of his food was a gateway drug into gluttony. He supposed the unassuming meals could be more dangerous than the obviously fatty ones.
He found out, months later, that the gym next door had shut down. He didn’t want to think about it too much.
He helped Jimin up, wiped his tears and introduced him to Yoongi. Yoongi, although he tried not to show it, was beyond enthused to meet one of his customers, finally. Namjoon explained to Yoongi that Jimin couldn’t find a particular meal on the menu, one he’d been looking for. A white lie- Namjoon wanted to spare Jimin the embarrassment for a second time.
So they sat Jimin down, after handing him more tissues, and let Yoongi cook him the fan-favorites.
Jimin cried again, this time tears of relief, as he savored the flavors. He’d thanked them again and again, thanking Yoongi for his talent, thanking Namjoon for his help- and then Jimin went on to be one of Namjoon’s favorite customers as well.
Now, Jimin could give Jungkook a run for his money, in terms of appetite. Namjoon could only assume after all the time Jimin spent without it, he never wanted to deprive himself of good food ever again.
This taught Namjoon a very important lesson- one he was beyond foolish for forgetting.
Denial would only make things worse.
Trying to resist would only make you bigger in the end.

And here Namjoon was, at the bottom of the slippery slope that was Chef Min Yoongi’s infectious food addiction, and Namjoon realized the 3 important rules Food critic Kim Seokjin had laid out in his raving review all those years ago were right all along:
1. “Never leave a Min Yoongi dish unfinished. “
How could you? Thought Namjoon, feeling completely stuffed to the gills, and still reaching for more from their new, larger sized pots of food. Yoongi’s gummy smile broke out on his face, as he pushed Namjoon back into his seat and fed him straight from the pot with a ladle. His poor, glutted belly had already outgrown this table, his ass far too wide for his chair. It groaned ominously from under him. Yoongi fed him with a new vigor.
2. “Always compliment the chef!”
With either a satisfied belch, or a loving kiss, or even a passionate make-out session with him pinned under your massive weight, make sure the chef knows very well the worth of him and his talents, and how much you appreciate him and them. Make sure he’s breathless by the end of it, and make sure to stuff him with some of his own hard work for good measure. Don’t leave until he’s dazed and satisfied.
3. “Share your food with a friend!”
Namjoon gets it, he really does- when you’re eating Min Yoongi’s food, you want to keep it to yourself. That’s a given. But you should always bring a friend a long so you can share the experience with them. A friend, a lover, an art-student neighbor who you had to help after he’d gotten his wide rear stuck in his doorway, a Min Yoongi dish sitting empty in his kitchen, and a dozing Park Jimin with love bites adorning his belly in that same apartment- anyone you’re okay with seeing you loosen up a few notches on your belt, really. Min Yoongi’s portions are large- and you won’t regret bringing help. Especially when Min Yoongi and his best customers have their weekly dinner parties where they glut themselves on food from the man himself. Even they can’t keep up, so keep yourself on your toes! And when you can’t reach those, remember Min Yoongi’s does delivery now!
Namjoon relaxed in their bed, Yoongi donning an apron that he’d outgrown long ago, waddling to feed Namjoon breakfast in bed.
“Order for Kim Namjoon?”
