So much tense anticipation in the voice. Like when a glass was too full of water.
“Yeah,” Levi finally breathed, arching to press the curve of his ass into Erwin. “Yeah… It’s alright. More than.” He felt like he was about to overflow himself. “I’m wearing too many clothes, Erwin.”
Erwin’s chuckle vibrated against Levi’s skin. He planted a kiss right above the shell of Levi’s ear.
His hands slid down from Levi’s shoulders to the laces that kept his corset cinched. They began to undo them. The air filled Levi’s lungs. His movements were delicate for such large hands, such long, thick fingers.
Or: Summer of 1883 in St. Petersburg. Erwin and Levi leave a party and get to know each other biblically for the first time.

Erwin firmly believes that he's ruined his own life: he's 36, divorced, with zero prospects and few friends, and hopelessly out of shape. One day, Pieck convinces Erwin to go to lunch with her at Scout's Deli, where he meets Levi and a chain of events is set off that neither of them could have foreseen...
This is a story about love, miscommunication, hurt, and repair.
