Trolley Problem

Summary:

Hitoshi should have known that someone would come after him, one of these days.
If only it had just been him.

Notes:

ummm..... I'm alive, surprise! I lost all motivation to write, so I didn't have anything to post. But here! I decided to write something short to get back into writing, and apparently I've been reading too much angst. I do have something longer and happier in the works tho! that should be coming at some point, I really hope to finish it.
(trigger warnings in the notes, please read them this one's A LOT).

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Hitoshi glared at the villain standing over him. His brain pounded against his skull as if it were trying to escape.

The villain just smiled wider at him.

“What do you want?” he spat. Maybe, just maybe, he could control him enough to free himself (who was he kidding; if the searing pain in his head was anything to go by, he wasn’t going to be able to use his quirk for hours).

The villain paused for a moment, then chuckled. “What do I want?” he clarified. Hitoshi tried, he really tried, to control the villain. It didn’t work. “I want you , little hero.” he replied,

“Why” Hitoshi spat, mind racing for some way out of this. He wasn’t even tied up, but there was no way he was moving, not with his wounds. “Why do you want me?” he hoped, begged even, that his voice hadn’t wavered.

If the villain's expression was anything to go off of, he’d failed.

“You don’t see it?” the villain asked. “You don’t see how they treat you ? How they disrespect you?” the villain scoffed. “You’re the most powerful person I’ve ever met, but these heroes don’t know that.”

“Yes, they do.” Hitoshi replied.

“No, they don't,” the villain told him, voice condescending. “They stuck you in general studies , they don’t deserve you.” he smiled dangerously. “We’ll respect you, I promise. We’ll show those eccentric heroes and that showy league that they misjudged us, that they misjudged you .”

Hitoshi sat in silence, trying to speak through his pounding head. “No.” he replied. “Never.”

The villain scowled, but only for a moment. “I thought you might say that,” he replied. “Boys?” he called into the trees behind him.

It was as if the five burly villains moved in slow motion. They stepped out of UA’s forest at once, taking identical steps. But it wasn’t their numbers that turned Hitoshi’s blood to ice.

Each one held a different form. One held Dad, wrapped up in his own binding cloth; the next held a muzzled papa; the largest had wrapped himself around Izuku; the rightmost held a knife to Eri’s throat; and the middle held the limp form of Denki, not yet dried blood matting his hair.

All six villains stood still for a moment, before the first turned back to Hitoshi. “I was really hoping it wouldn’t come to this.” he muttered, sounding almost apologetic. “But hey, I’m no monster” sure “I’ll cut you a deal.”

“What deal?” Hitoshi asked before he could stop himself. He saw dad struggle slightly out of the corner of his eye.

“I’ll let each of them go.” began the villain. “All five, right here, right now. All you have to do is come with me.” he grinned. “Maybe you’ll end up liking being an equal for once.”

Hitoshi’s headache increased exponentially as he tried to weigh his options. He just had to think, find a way out. He tried to close his eyes, block out the pain for just long enough to come up with a plan.

All he could think about was the terrified look on his baby sister’s face.

“Better decide quickly.” the villain told him, sounding almost bored. “Blondie over there is losing a lot of blood.” he winced slightly. “Sorry about that, by the way, I didn’t want to hurt him, but he just kept zapping us.”

Hitoshi made the mistake of looking back up, just for a moment; the blood was dripping down Denki’s head now, making little dark spots on the shoulder of his T-shirt.

“Fine!” he panted out, barely able to process anything besides the pain in his head, “I’ll go with you.”
