The Delacour-Granger family was on vacation in France. Hermione was quite pleased to see the sun more often in the city of Provence and she thought that the lavender fields brought out the beautiful blue eyes her wife owns. Fleur was happily escorting their small one year old walking around the fields. The Gryffindor thought that when they do get along it would be when they were out and about playing. Little Valérie would pick up small parts of lavender and ask Fleur to tell her what it is. From time to time, the toddler would go off on a mad sprint to see if Fleur would chase after her. Tiny legs don't get very far but the blonde woman was happy to indulge in the "chase".
The two blonde girls looked back at Hermione, all smiles and mischief with little Valérie snug in Fleur's arms. Hermione was just starting to show a second baby bump already because this was going to be their last child and the brunette didn't want a huge age gap between siblings.
"Mama! Mama!" Valérie beckoned for Hermione to walk faster.
"I see we are enjoying these lavenders quite a lot, hm? Quite messy already," Hermione said while approaching the two.
"She is extremely pleased with the sights, mon coeur," Fleur responded, gleefully tickling little Valérie on the neck with kisses.
The small child laughed and laughed until she accidentally passed gas. "I suppose that's one way to make sure her tummy doesn't ache. How about we head back to your fancy Chateau and get you both cleaned up?" Hermione chuckled.
"Mama want 'rene!" Valérie exclaimed gesturing towards Hermione's stomach.
Ever since little Valérie found out she was not going to play alone for very long anymore she had been absolutely obsessed with Hermione's stomach. Fleur called it Veela's instincts and mentioned that she was very much the same with Gaby. Very soon, Valérie would have a little sister named Eirene.
"Valérie why don't we get in the car first and then you can lie down on Mama's lap on the way home?" Fleur reasoned.
"Yea yea! Mama mine!" Valerie proclaimed.
Hermione snorted and Fleur groaned. "Valérie, Mama is Maman's ok?"
"Don't sta--" Hermione begged.
"Nay nay nay, Mama mine!" As if to prove a point, Valérie reached for Hermione while still in Fleur's arms.
"We'll see about that later, hm?" Fleur dared.

Of course, this is how Fleur ended up sleeping beside Valérie instead of her wife. Valérie clearly knew what her blonde mother had meant and it just left Hermione laughing at Fleur's predicament. Clearly, the blonde was hoping for something quite heated to happen tonight. Every attempt at kisses by the blonde was promptly slapped away by Valérie and during every feeding session she insisted on hugging Hermione.
"Merde!" Fleur cursed under her breath. "All my plans ruined by this… this… tiny me!"
Hermione was full out laughing now. "Watch your words, love. We don't want our little spitfire swearing now, would we?"
Fleur was pouting but Hermione kissed it all away. "I do hope that Eirene does not follow in her sister's footsteps."
"With how rarely she gives me trouble, I highly doubt it. I don't even know how you got to me all alone with how possessive Valérie is." Hermione smiled, fixing a stray blonde hair from the sleeping baby.
"As much as I was looking forward to tonight, today was still wonderful. Valérie enjoyed each and every thing. I look forward to showing all these memories to her when she's older." Fleur chuckled.
The two women then began to just chat the night away until they themselves felt the pull of sleep. Fleur gently transferred Valérie to her baby hammock in the room.

Morning came and Hermione found her face being peppered with small slobbery kisses. Valérie has always been an early riser always trying to beat the sun before it fully shone in the sky. Hermione in turn embraced the tiny child and gave her own kisses.
"Stay quiet little one and let's make Maman some breakfast." Hermione whispered.
The small child didn't quite get what Hermione was saying but when she got the idea that Hermione was leaving she reached for her mother and was promptly carried. The Delacour Chateau was quite large and usually had quite a few house elves helping the family maintain it. However, the clans were gathering at their manor in Nice so they were only left with Tipsy who had her hands quite full cleaning at the moment. Hermione didn't mind this since she would have help soon in the form of her parents and Fleur who will rise when she is awakened by the sun. Valérie was having a blast strolling the chateau with her mother. Their house in London was nowhere near this large and everything absolutely made her feel like a royal strolling in her castle. After the nth curtsy, Valérie got tired of walking and decided to have Hermione carry her the rest of the way to the kitchens.
"Tipsy? Can you please give me some bacon, eggs, beans, sausages, apples, and bread?" Hermione called out, settling little Valérie onto her magically extended high chair.
Immediately, the ingredients she requested appeared at the counter space near the stove. Little Valérie watched her mother prepare and cook each ingredient. She found her own baby bowl filled with thin slices of apple. Hermione had to give it to the house elf; she really can hear everything. She reminds herself to put up silencing charms for tonight when her parents take over in taking care of little Valérie.
It turns out that waking up alone results in a very pouty blonde in the morning. "You've exchanged me for a portable me!"
"Mama mine!" Valerie squeaked.
Hermione shook her head. It seems that she had two children now. "Love, why don't you sit on your own high chair and just wait for breakfast? Eirene wanted a full English breakfast."
"Ah, it seems we will have a portable you soon." Fleur quipped.
"Well, then it would be very cute if you read her your published book on advanced charms." Hermione replied back, smiling at her wife.
Truth be told, Hermione was very proud of Fleur's book. She has two copies, a worn one and one to leave untouched and pristine. Both were at home and well taken care of with preservation charms she devised for her books.
"Perhaps we will start her out with some fairy tales, no? My book is a little--"
"Oof" Hermione immediately held her stomach and it was noticeably more pronounced. "It seems Eirene does not agree, love."
"Little you indeed." Fleur laughed.
"'Rene 'Rene!" Valérie excitedly yelled, dropping an apple slice.

It was nearing lunchtime when the Grangers came to the Chateau. They were escorted by Apolline from the airport who could not stay beyond their mealtime for the clan gathering. The Delacour matron promised that they would follow as soon as the gathering ends tomorrow. The Grangers insisted on bringing some dessert and tea for lunch. Hermione's parents were quite sure Hermione would have most of their meal covered.
Lunch was quite eventful what with Apolline regaling everyone with stories of Fleur being a child. Something about Fleur insisting on not wearing clothes at age two. Alina then decided to tell a story on Hermione insisting that she live in the library with well thought out arguments for a three year old.
Alina and Harvey Granger were absolutely enamored with their grandchild. Of course, as the grandparents it was their duty to spoil Valérie with more toys and candy. They also snuck Hermione a little baby toothbrush and toothpaste as an apology.
"Finally, I can kiss you." Fleur said, hugging her wife from behind.
"Only kiss? I had a whole romantic evening planned." Hermione replied leaning into her wife's embrace.
"Oh? Do tell, Mon Coeur." Fleur husked, leaning closer to Hermione's face for a kiss.
Hermione had turned to face her wife. "I brought our bullet for the trip you know."
Just as they were about to seal it with a kiss a small hand tugged at Hermione's pants. "Mama Mine!"
